Your #1 Fan | Mother's Day Layout | Brianna Lepper

Hey y'all! Brianna Lepper here and I hope you had a fantastic International Scrapbooking Day and weekend!  This Sunday is Mother's Day and the creative team will be honoring that day with some fabulous Mother's Day projects all week long!  For my layout, I used the Mom Life collection since it has so many cute elements!

For the base of my layout, I chose the Jammies All Day patterned paper.  I love the black and white pattern and thought it would be awesome to lay a bunch of bright, pretty colors on top of it.  First, I punched out some squares using a few punches from my stash.  Then, I applied some color using the Vicki Boutin watercolor markers.  I sprayed water down to wet the surface of the paper and then dropped on some color.  I made sure to use colors that matched the collection nicely.

Since this page is about my Mom, I wanted to use a lot of floral pieces.  So I went ahead and fussy cut a bunch of flowers from the My Tribe patterned paper.  Once those were all cut and ready, I started working on the design of my layout.  My mixed media squares were all dry so I started adhering them onto the page having them cascade down on the left side. I staggered my photos on the large squares and glued those down as well.  I usually don't add multiple photos to a page, so this was fun for me!

Now that my mixed media squares and photos were down, I started embellishing.  I pulled some ephemera icon pieces as well as some cardstock stickers from the collection.  I love layering and adding foam squares to a lot of my embellishments.  I especially love layering floral pieces.  I grabbed the fussy cut florals and started tucking them here and there, also adding some tangled thread underneath a few.  

I pulled the Bella Besties Word Salad sticker book and added some to one of my square pieces.  I also added some of the hearts from the cotton candy Florence alpha stickers.  There are quite a few pineapple pieces in this collection and since these photos were taken in Hawaii, they fit onto this page perfectly! I fussy cut some small ones from the Borders patterned paper to add around my page.

For my title, I used some Florence alphas in Black as well as some Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers in Punch.  I love puffy stickers so I decided to sprinkle some of the Punch Mix Puffy Star Stickers around my page as well.

I loved embellishing on the smaller squares with smaller pieces.  So fun and simple!

Stay at Home Mini Album | Dorymar

It is National Scrapbook Day and I am super excited to share with you a fun project, but also to see a thousand ideas of many scrapbookers over the world. Today I am sharing a mini album with the Home Sweet Home collection inspired by the world situation and the new normal, "Stay at Home".

To make the base of the album I used Happy House (ID-293597) digital file from Bella Blvd at the Silhouette store and cut several pages, I use cardstock for the front and back page to give the strongest. I used a ring to put it together because this gives me more opportunity to continue adding as many pages as I can.

I covered the inside pages with the Home Sweet Home patterned paper mixed with the Bella Besties, I also add some free printables I found during the quarantine on Traci Reed page.

The process that we are going through is one for history and as a scrapbooker, I must document every experience lived during this difficult process. Creating this album gave me the opportunity to have fun and turn these bad times into very colorful ones for me and my family.  Inside it, you can find flaps, inserts, pockets, and cutest items from the collection. Below you can see all the pages!

Our first post of the day is from Maryam, let's see what she has created for you...

Happy International Scrapbooking Day, Friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be back here on this very special day for all of us scrapbookers sharing a fun layout I created using some of the beautiful Bella BLVD Cut Files.

In my layout, I wanted to document some highlights of what a day at home during the quarantine look like so I used the gorgeous Home Sweet Home collection, which is perfect for this kind of topic. The cut files I chose to work with are 293600 Trees and 292691 Happy House. And what did was to open the files on the Silhouette software, ungroup them, and separate all of the individual pieces so I was able to cut them in different pattern papers. 

After all the pieces were cut, I assembled them all together and added some hand stitching. To embellish the page, I fussy cut some flowers from the Welcome Home Pattern Paper and put them around the page. 

To create my title, I combined the word "home" Ephemera Words with the Florence Alphabet Stickers and Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers to form the phrase "A Day at Home".

Tell A Story Day with Nathalie

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to celebrate National Tell A Story Day!  Well, with most of the world still sheltered-in-place, we all are missing our families.  Unfortunately for us that meant missing our niece's 12th birthday -we did celebrate on line, but it wasn't the same-.  So, i  pulled Bella Blvd Squeeze the Day collection, a few embellishments and a piece of vellum to create this page...

 

I wanted the story to be the highlight of this page (it is after all my love letter to  my 12 year old niece), so i used my computer to print it on an A4 size piece of vellum.   The b side of the Fruit Salad paper is the perfect shade of yellow for the story and the pictures to shine.  So, i trimmed the excess vellum from the story page, and glued it to the top half of the paper.

 

I printed the last three selfies that i had with my niece so that they fit within a 4x6 in shape, and decided to glue them to  a piece of Fruity Hearts paper.  I glued this to the top right corner of the vellum, and decided to start embellishing the page.

 

I used embellishments from the Squeeze the Day collection to add  a cluster to the top left corner of the pictures.   All the little chipboard flowers are the perfect size for this.  And the small felt clips just bring more of a girly look to the page.

 

Building a title was so easy to do by combining an acrylic word (Family Time collection), Florence Alphabet stickers and  Wonky Alpha puffy stickers.  I love the texture and color combination that this brings to the layout.

 

To balance the page, i trimmed that little flag from the Daily Details paper, and created a cluster with some of the florals from the Squeeze The Day collection.  In order to tie together all the clusters, elements and colors of the page, i used an Altenew die to cut butterflies from patterned paper and vellum.  These were layered together, and then attached around the clusters in the page.  A bit of hand stitching just adds a bit more texture and interest on the page.

 

I hope this inspires you to write your story and embellish it with all the beautiful Bella Blvd. products.

April Mood Board Inspired Layout | Maryam

Hello Friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be back here at the Bella BLVD Studio Blog with a new project inspired by the gorgeous April Mood Board.

First of all, let's start by taking a look at this month's mood board.

As soon as I saw the mood board I knew that I wanted to create a layout inspired in the balloon rainbow photo from the top right corner and that's what I did.

To create my project I started by looking through some of the digital cut files from Bella BLVD available at the Silhouette Design Store and I choose to work with 298252 Rainbow with a Cloud. Next, with the help of my Silhouette Cameo, I cut each one of the rainbow pieces on to different papers from the Graph & Dot RainbowBella Besties Collection and adhered them to a sheet of white cardstock. Following this, using my Craft Pick Tool, I punched holes around the pieces I cut before and added hand stitching around them with coordinating embroidery thread. Once I finished, I fussy cut the rainbow leaving a white border around the image.

For the rainbow's clouds, I used the 318444 Sunshine Cut File and since I wanted them to have the same look as the rainbow, I followed the same process I mentioned before with the difference that I used light blue embroidery thread instead.

Once I finish with the stitching process, I put the element into my page with foam adhesive. Next up, I added my photos, title, and journaling. For the title, I mix the Florence Alphabet Stickers with the Wonky Alpha Puffy to spell out "fun day".

To embellish the page, I used some flowers (298768 Flower Scatter) and placed a matte enamel dot in the center of each of them. I also added some word stickers and epoxy hearts. Finally, to complete my design, I added a sun over the left cloud from the Squeeze the Day chipboard stickers.

Creative Journaling | Patricia

Hello Bella Blvd Fans!  I hope you feel the same as I do in being so thankful to have a creative outlet and beautiful Bella Blvd products to play with during this difficult time.  As I looked at this Easter photo of the family together for Easter at church last year, it really struck me that our Easter service this year could very well be at home streaming a live broadcast of the service.  Those thoughts played into my creative journaling.

After applying and using a small brayer with white paint onto the Squeeze the Day Fruit Salad pattern paper, I put the dried sheet through my typewriter.  I stopped where 'HOPE' would be placed using the Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers and 'Good' would be placed using the Blueberry Florence Stickers, then sent through my typewriter again to finish the journaling.

Applying the paint over the pattern paper, gives me a great place to add journaling with my typewriter or handwriting it.  And using the different stickers as part of my journaling, helps add color, texture and a unique way of journaling.  Notice the small hearts over the journaling from the Florence Stickers?  Well, as the first sentence says, I am not perfect, and I had two ooopsies on the typewriter, so I used the stickers to cover them up a bit, but still being able to read it.  I really love the look of adding color throughout the journaling!

I left room after the journaling to add more stickers and die cuts to combine 'Us Happy Together' using more Florence Alpha Stickers, Blueberry Mix Puffy Hearts Stickers, Heart Hugs Sticker, and a die cut from the Home Sweet Home collection.

For this right side of my Traveler's Notebook, I used Home Sweet Home House Plants pattern paper for my background.  I used the Silhouette to cut this Spring Florals JustNick Studio cut file, and backed it with the 6x6 Bella Besties papers.  I finished it off with leaves and butterfly die cuts from the Home Sweet Home collection and Fruit Mix Matte Enamels from Squeeze the Day.

I love the texture on the right with the background pattern paper against the cut file with the Bella Besties, so very Spring, light and airy.  And the left side in yellow is a complementary color to the right side, bringing in more of the blues from the photo and the right side.  Adding the white paint also adds a nice airy, soft Spring feel to my spread as well.  Hope this gives you ideas of how to get creative with your journaling with paint over pattern paper, handwriting/typing combined with stickers, and also being a little transparent behind the details of the photo.  Thank you for stopping by and hope you continue to be creative!!


 

Sweet Spring Layout | Nathalie DeSousa

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today bringing you a bit of color in this dark times.   We are all facing a hard time, and crafting is a great way to bring a bit of a silver lining to your days.  So, what better way to add a bit of color to your Spring memories using the beautiful Squeeze the Day and Bella Besties collections.

 

I started by adding a bit of white paint on the White Graph/dot Bella Besties paper.  This will create a blank space for my background without losing all the paper designs.  While the paint dried, i used a cut file from HANDIPAPER to create the cut out.   This was cut twice from white cardstock, then staked and glued together to create a bit of dimension on the cut out.

 

 

The cut out was backed with papers from the 6x6 paper pads from both collections.  I chose to create a rainbow of flowers cascading on my page.  Trimming the edge of the background and then gluing it to the b-side of the Orange You Glad paper makes everything pop nicely on the layout.

 

 

I layered papers from the Squeeze the Day collection behind the pictures before setting them on  the layout.  A few pieces of ephemera and enamel stickers and acrylic shapes help to create the clusters at the corners of the pictures.

 

 

For the layout's title, i combined the So Sweet Acrylic word with a few Wonky Alpha puffy stickers and a piece of ephemera at the bottom of the pictures.  Just love the combination of textures in this little cluster.

 

Along the way, i added a few small clusters of ephemera, enamel shapes and sitckers  so that they help create the soft diagonal design on the page, and also guide your eye throughout the page.

 

 

I hope this inspires you to add a bit of rainbow magic to your next memory documenting.  The Squeeze the Day and Bella Besties do sure provide the color you need for your silver lining!

National Write Your Story Down Day | Maryam

Hello Friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be here at the Bella Blvd Studio Blog with my first post as part of the 2020 - 2021 Creative Team. For today's post, I have a very special project. In case you didn't know, March 14th is National Write Your Story Down Day. I love this day because it reminds us to take a moment and tell our story. You may think that there is nothing to tell, but once you start writing then you can't stop.

As a scrapbooker, I love documenting different moments and events of my life and family, but sometimes I forget to document about myself, what I like, what I enjoy, who I am, etc. so today's layout is all about me and my story.

For my layout, I used the gorgeous Squeeze the Day Collection and created a grid design with all the elements I had. I put the photos on the two opposite corners of my page as well as the journaling. To embellish the page, I picked up some pieces from the Squeeze the Day Ephemera Icons and Words, added a cute acrylic shape strawberry, and some word stickers from the Word Salad Booklet. I also cut out some of the cards from the Squeeze the Day Daily Details Patterned Paper for extra fun.

For the title, I combined the letters from Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers with the Florence Alphabet Stickers to spell out the phrase "This Is Me". Then, to highlight the title, I took a black pen and drew an outline around each of the letters.

Last but not least, I fussy cut some flowers and leaves from different patterned papers, adhered them around the page and put an enamel dot in the center of each one of them.

Scraplifting a Favorite Layout | Christine

I tend to do a lot of scraplifting from myself, but it's usually just elements of a layout.  In today's case I full blown scrapflited everything, right down to the subject!  My son LOVES popsicles.  A couple years ago I created a layout using Bella Blvd to tell his story of popsicle love.  It ended being one of my favorite layouts that I created that year.  So I decided to recreate it with new popsicle pictures, kind of a sequel if you will!  Let's take a look!

First up is the original!

As you can see the original used a variety of collections and papers with a rainbow theme to it!  Here's the process video for that one:

 

Now on to the newest one!

As you can see it's VERY similar.  I did go for a different color scheme though!  No rainbows just a whole lot of vibrant colors. I also opted for a blue background instead of white!

I updated the hearts of the popsicles from Puffy Hearts to Heart Hugs.

I also updated my title using both a cut file and Wonky Letters for the title.

On both layouts, I dug into my stash of Bella Blvd patterned papers.  For the newest one, I pulled papers from the Bella Besties, Squeeze the Day, Santa Squad, and Let's Go on An Adventure.

February Mood Board || Kelly

Hello everyone! It's Kelly here today sharing a layout inspired by this month's mood board:

I drew so much inspiration from this beautiful board, but the most obvious way would be how the middle left squared inspired my background.

The top left square inspired the scattered x's and o's across my photos, and the enamel dots were inspired by the top middle square.

The strip of red patterned paper grounding my layout came from the bottom right square, and the pattern on the hearts at the bottom was similar to the bottom left square.

Finally, the flowers in the middle right square are similar to the pattern on my daughter's dress.

Whew! That's a lot of inspiration! I love working with mood boards...it's always fun to see what everyone comes up with.
