Birthday Layout | Gloria Parra

Hello Bella friends, happy Monday and happy Birthday Week!!

We are so excited to be celebrating Bella Blvd. turning 15 years this month!!! Get prepared for some fun challenges, prices and giveaways! I can’t wait to get my box with the new Birthday Bash collection, it looks amazing friends! Meanwhile I decided to create a fun birthday layout using “My Candy Girl” and “Wish Big” collections; and of course, some Bella Besties products that I had in my stash…

For me nothing screams birthday party louder than some fringes and rainbow colors, so I decided to create a layout featuring both things and loved the end result!

I started my page with a pink tone on tone patterned paper called “Party Animal” from the “Wish Big” collection. I then cut two strips of the multicolored striped patterned paper at 3/4” x 12” to create the borders of my large background piece.

I then proceeded to create the rainbow for my background with various strips of patterned paper.s I cut the strips at 1’ x 7 3/4” inches, choosing two patterned papers of each color on the rainbow (my rainbow has red, magenta, light pink, yellow, green, blue and teal).

I used my fringe scissors to create the fringes on my patterned papers. I cut each piece leaving approximately 1/8 of an inch at the top to add my adhesive and adhere the strips of fringed paper to my background.

I adhered my fringed strips of paper starting from the bottom to the top and overlapped them a little with the top of the previous one, until reaching the top of my background paper. I used two 3x4” photos from my daughters 3-year celebration at her daycare and placed them at the bottom third of my layout. 

To embellish my layout, I created two clusters of flowers on each corner of my photos and them added some ephemera words and icons to my rainbow strips, tucking some of them under the fringes and matching the color in my rainbow. I love this color blocking technique; it is so fun for this kind of rainbow layouts.

To finish my page, I added some puffy stickers and sprinkled some confetti stickers around my embellishments. This adds texture and interest to a layout. For my title I used a “Wish Big” acrylic word that I adhered at the bottom of my photos.

World Card Making Day | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing two cards that I created using some of the new Bella Besties products mixed in with some older Bella Besties products.  They all match so nicely together so let's mix it up!  Here are the cards that I made, I hope you like them!

 

I had so much fun creating these two cards.  I love how Bella Blvd uses the same colors in all of their collections so that you can mix and match and everything coordinates together.  When I first saw the new Hearts & Ombre patterned papers, I immediately fell in love and knew that they would look perfect with the Freehand Dot & Graph patterned papers.  And, boy was I right!!  Let's get into my first card: 

 

 

Pink is one of my favorite colors and I was so excited to get to use the Hearts & Ombre paper in Cotton Candy for this card!  Paired with the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Punch as my base, it looks so pretty!  I wanted to create a fun girl birthday card to keep on hand so I pulled out the Wish Big Girl collection and used the adorable hippo chipboard sticker as the main focal point of my card.  

 

 

I created a tag using a piece of the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Cotton Candy and tied on a piece of white pom pom trim.  To give my card even more interest, I stitched around a few of the layers.  

 

I created my own sentiment using the Aria Puffy Alpha stickers in Gulf and added a few hearts from the new Trinkets Puffy Stickers.  They're a perfect finishing touch to any project and I love them!!  Such a simple and fun card to make!

 

 

My next card is a fun sequin shaker card that I made using the Hearts & Ombre patterned paper in Ice as the frame and the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Bell Pepper as my base. 

 

 

I thought it would be fun to create a scene on the inside of my shaker using the Home Sweet Home collection.  I created a little hill using the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Pickle Juice and fussy cut some clouds from the White paper.  I added a house chipboard sticker and a tree from the ephemera icons.  Next, I took a text sticker from the Word Salad Booklet and adhered it right onto the hill.  To complete my scene, I added some of the White Trinket Puffy stickers!

 

 

To create the window of my shaker, I glued a piece of acetate to the frame I created and stuck down some foam tape around the border.  Then, I added some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins from my stash and sealed everything up.

 

 

For my sentiment, I used the Aria Puffy Alphas in Bell Pepper and spelled out 'Congrats'.  I plan on using this card as closing gift for my clients.  Who doesn't love receiving a handmade card?!  Especially one that shakes!

September 2020 Mood Board | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout I created using the gorgeous September 2020 Mood Board as inspiration. I was totally inspired by the top 3 squares and used those as my color scheme for my layout.  Look at how awesome this mood board is!

Here's my layout, I used both the Wish Big Girl and Cooper collections to create it.  

 

To start, I pulled the Birthday Song patterned paper from Wish Big Girl to pull in the black and white element.  To achieve the diagonal stripes from the top center square, I took the colors from the first square and painted those on in a diagonal direction.  I love how bright and colorful the stripes are and I also like how they pop off of the busy background!  

Once my background was dry, I got to work on the rest of my layout.  I took one of the Cut Outs from Cooper and added a few thin foam adhesive strips to the back of it to give it some dimension.  I didn't back or color the Cut Out since I wanted to keep it pretty simple and use it mainly as a layering piece.

Next, I added an acrylic word right on top of the Cut Out as somewhat of a subtitle.  Then I took a few pieces of the Bella Besties Graph and Dot paper in Gulf and Punch and backed my photo with them.  I also pulled the Border patterned paper from Wish Big Girl and used the yellow and white polka dot side to add some yellow to my photo layers.  

I started adding some embellishment clusters around my photo using an adorable Bella Pop, some Ephemera Icons and Ciao Chip stickers.  I made sure to tuck and layer and add foam adhesive to some of the pieces.  

I also added a few Fruity Mix Matte Enamels and tangled thread around my page.

For my title, I used a mixture of the new Aria Puffy Alphas in Peep, White and Cotton Candy.  I can't get enough of these alphas!!

Here's one more close up of the awesome Cut Outs from Cooper.  If you don't have a die cutting machine or need a cut file in a pinch, these are so perfect!! Already cut and ready for you to use!

Fun with the Aria Alphabet - Tegan Skwiat

Good day everyone, Tegan here! I am so excited to share today's layout using the awesome brand new Aria Puffy Alphabet Stickers! I love that they come in ALL of the yummy Bella Blvd colors, so matching them to your Bella projects will be a breeze. Since I wanted to document a recent picture of my fur baby, I  used the adorable Cooper collection on this layout.  I also added in some bits from the Chloe collection and the pink background paper is from the Wish Big Girl line. I love that all of the Bella collections mix and match so easily!

I started by cutting out a large circle from the pink Wish Big Girl Party Animal patterned paper and then backed it with the Cooper Paws Patterned Paper. I then used the Aria Alphabet Stickers to add dog-themed words around the cut out circle. Here I used the Aria Alphas in Punch! 

Here I added little paw print strips of the Paw Prints Washi Tape around the page. They are pretty 'pawsome' don't you think?! I then embellished my photo with Ephemera die cut pieces.

Here I used the McIntosh and Black Aria Alphabet Stickers. I used the red corrugated cardboard Heart Hugs stickers to separate the words.  

I used the paw part from the Cooper Faithful Friend Cut-Outs to create the main design down the right side of the page. I backed it with patterned papers from the Chloe and Cooper collections. I love that I was able to use so many colors of Aria Alphabet Stickers on this layout. The only problem is that I can't decide which color is my favorite! Can you?!

Mini Heart Hugs - Happy Birthday

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share a new layout using the Wish Big girl collection! 

I really wanted to use a lot of the pretty patterns in this collection so I found a cut file that would help me do that! Instead of tracing all the small hearts I went into my Silhouette studio and selected the full cut file. Once it was selected I right click and then select release compound path.  I take the inside cut line of the heart and move it off to the side away from the grid. I can then select everything except for the single heart and delete it. Next I move the heart back to the grid, select the image and create an offset. You can then adjust the size to what you need. Remember to remove the original heart and delete so your machine will just cut the offset. I always do a test cut before going crazy and cutting a ton of the pieces out. 

Once all my pieces are cut I backed the cut file and used liquid adhesive to adhere the pieces. I like a bottle that has a very fine tip so I do not get glue everywhere! Once the file was backed I added foam all over the back so that it pops up from my background.

I had some photos of our daughter Alyssa before we went to deliver birthday party invites. We made some lollipop invitations and wrapped each one with cellophane and tied each one with a ribbon. Her birthday theme was The Sweet Shoppe and these invites were perfect! For my title this birthday acrylic word was the perfect finishing touch. Here is a look at my completed layout using the Wish Big girl collection.

August Mood Board Inspired Layout | Maryam

Hey there friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be back here at the Bella BLVD blog today with a new project inspired by the August 2020 Mood Board.

First of all, let's start by taking a look at this month's mood board.

For today's layout I decided to combine three collections- Splash Zone, Squeeze the Day, and Wish Big (Girl). Since all of Bella products share the same base colors, it is actually really easy to mix and match bits and pieces from different collections.

To create my layout, I was inspired by different elements from the mood board- like the colors, the pineapples, the icecream, etc. I started by cutting the 322856 Pineapple Cut File from Bella BLVD out of different patterned papers using my Silhouette Cameo. As I always do when I'm working with a cut file, I began by ungrouping all the elements and position them in different parts of the mat, so I then can cut each one of the pieces from a different paper.

Once I had all the pieces cut, I assembled the pineapple and then add some hand-stitching around the image using embroidery thread from the same color.

Continuing with my process, I cut some flowers (288531 Pink Flower) and butterflies (327623 Butterflies Fluttering Away) just to add some more interest to the page. Next, to embellish the layout I added some ephemera pieces from the Splash Zone Collection and also one little popsicle from the Wish Big (Girl) collection.

I then positioned my photo on the right side of the page along with the title and my journaling. For the title, I decided to use one of the Bella's Acrylic Words in light blue that says "splish splash" which coordinated perfectly with my photo and also the story I was trying to tell in this page.

Last but not least, I felt like the page needed a little bit more color, so I decided to add some washi tape, Rainbow and Swiggle, from the Splash Zone and Home Sweet Home Collection respectively, on the left and bottom border of the page. 

Now, let's take a look at the finished layout!

Happy Birthday Layout | Maryam

Hey crafty friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be back here at the Bella BLVD Studio Blog today with a new project. This month we are celebrating Bella's 12th birthday! Can you believe it? 12 years already! WOW! which means we are going to be having a bunch of birthday-themed projects for you.

 

 

For today's layout, I'm documenting a photo of my sister's 7th birthday back in 2011. To create my page I used the girl version of the Wish Big Collection and started by creating a balloon bunch with some circles from the Ephemera set and a few others that I cut out of pattern paper onto a piece of white cardstock. I then hand-drawn the balloon string with a pencil, punched holes around all of the balloon arrangement, and lastly, I added some hand-stitching.

 

 

After I finished the balloon bunch, I fussy cut it with my fine tip scissors and then adhered it to the page using foam squares. Right after this, I added my photo and journaling on the left side of the page.

 

 

Next, I added a bunch of different embellishments from the Ephemera Icons and also Words set, the Ciao Chip 12 x 12 Chipboard Sheet, from the Wish Big Cardstock Stickers and also some other little pieces that I fussy cut from the patterned papers.

 

 

Last but not least, I added some enamel dots, little sticker hearts, stamped the date of my photo in black and my layout was done!

Hello Bella Blvd. friends!

Nathalie with you today with a new Scrapbook layout that is all about celebrating birthdays.  Can you believe Bella Blvd. is turning 12?  I know!  This entire month we are celebrating another milestone ( and we are having giveaways along the way, too!).  So, it was only fitting that i share a festive layout today!

 

The idea for this page was a tiered cake, but just like my daughter's taste for something a bit different, i chose to replace the yummy layers with a large stitched title.   

 

 

I used an alphabet cut file from the Silhouette store to cut the letters from patterned paper - Wish Big collection-.  I also link all the letters together, and created an offset of the word, then cut the offset from white cardstock.   Here is where, i pop my headphones on, played the Hamilton Soundtrack, and hand stitched each letter to the white offset using matching embroidery floss.

 

I cut a piece of blush cardstock to 10x10in and backed it with the Grey Plaid patterned paper.  A few cross stitches hold the pages together.   Here i adhered the title with strong glue and added embellishments at the  corners of each of the words following a zig zag pattern.  There are so many cute embellishments in the Wish Big collection that it was easy to create small embellishment clusters.

 

 

I used all the leftover paper from the letter cuts to create layers behind the picture, and attached it to the top of the page (just   like a cake topper).  I created two more embellishments clusters at the corner of the picture and then added a few lines of journal to complete the page.

Happy Birthday Bella Blvd!!!  I'm so excited to be a part of celebrating with the Company and the Team.  I love seeing scrapbooking companies succeed.  Bella Blvd is turning 12 and so is my daughter!!!  So I knew right away I had to document and celebrate both birthdays today's post.  

Today, I am documenting my daughter's special day using a 6x8 layout and a 6x4.5 protector with 2x2 pockets.  I picked the 6x8 full-size layout pocket because I wanted it to be the focus.  To create the celebratory feel I wanted, I used the Bella Blvd Birthday Candles Cut file in the Silhouette Store using three different pattern papers from the Wish Big collection.  Of course, I cut 12 candles!

With my candles at the top of my page, I machine stitched across them and the Wish Big border sticker.  The collection comes with die cuts of the lanterns (the round die cuts), but what is awesome is there is a full-size 12x12 paper with the same images.  I was able to fussy cut some of those and use the die cuts to make that repetitive pattern throughout the layout and the pockets on the right.  I matted my 2x3 photo with another favorite pattern paper from the collection called 123456789...  I LOVE the numbers on this paper.  Then I added a tab sticker and the 12 at the bottom.  To finish this, I used the chipboard, GIRL, and typed my journaling on cardstock to trim and adhere within the design.

Looking through the photos from her special day, I had four more photos I wanted to document, and the perfect way to document them was with the 2x2 pockets.  A great balance of the 6x8 layout with my favorite photo, and the other four photos to show more of her special day.  I first start by selection my photos and placing them in a zig zag pattern in the pockets. 

Next, I trim pieces from the pattern papers to fill the other pockets focusing on patterns and colors to create balance.  Then add any other details using the stickers and die cuts from the Wish Big collection to finish.

Happy Birthday, Bella Blvd and to my daughter!!!  The Wish Big collection is perfect for documenting celebrations.  I hope this inspires you on how to documenting with pocket pages!
