Time to Travel 12x12 by Erika

Hi friends! Erika here. Today, I’m excited to share a special 12x12 layout featuring my 6-year-old reading to her 2-year-old sister. While I used a travel collection for this page, I love stretching my imagination to fit different themes. In this case, I used it to signify the imaginary travel that happens through reading books.

Over the past year, my kids have become regular visitors to the library, and on this particular night, my eldest was reading aloud to her sister. Her progress in reading has been remarkable, and I’m incredibly proud of her.

My style typically includes lots of vivid colors with high contrast in black and white. To achieve this, I often start with a black and white photo as my central focal point. For this page, I anchored my main photo with colorful heart paper as well as a large horizontal strip of black and white cardstock, trimmed at the edges with lace for a fun touch.

One of my favorite techniques is using cut apart sheets for my titles. For this layout, I chose "travel is good for the heart" from the collection. I then used an alpha stamp to add "bookish" to complete the title. To ensure all the elements stood out, I inked the edges for extra definition.

 

On the right side of the page, I added a fun element by creating two small-scale books. Inside these books, I placed two additional photos that were slightly repetitive but too precious to leave out. This was a great way to include them without cluttering the page.

To add a burst of color, I backed the entire page with a blue cloud print paper and adhered small strips of solid patterned paper in rainbow order. A black zigzag stitch around the edges and a few more pieces of ephemera brought the layout together beautifully.

Road Trip - Time To Travel Collection | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today and I've got a fun layout using the Time To Travel collection. This week the CT is documenting multiple photos using this gorgeous collection.  You might not know this about me, but I LOVE Swedish candy... And there happens to be a Swedish candy store in Los Angeles which is about a 1.5- 2 hour drive from where we live.  So of course, we have taken road trips there multiple times and let me tell you, it's worth every second of sitting in traffic haha.  Here's my page: 

To start, I took two pieces of the 12x12 Road Trip paper and trimmed the black diagonal side to 11x11 and then took a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it down to 10.5x10.5.  Once I layered and adhered them together, I pulled a road map stencil from my stash and blended some blue ink through it.  Simple and pretty!

Next, I matted my photos using a scrap paper from the collection and popped them all up on foam tape. I arranged all three together towards the right side of my layout.  I knew I wanted to create a few embellishment clusters around my photos so by staggering them together, it created some nooks and crannies. 

For my title, I used the Florence Alpha in Black and Blueberry and adhered it to the left of my photos. It's such a fun font and it goes so well with this design. I then started embellishing using the Ephemera Icons and Words.  

I created this fun cluster at the bottom left of my layout using more Ephemera Icons and Ciao Chip stickers.  Since this page is about a road trip, I tried to incorporate vehicles and of course city buildings since we were in Los Angeles.  

This collection is bright and bold and I love it so much.  We love to go on so many different adventures and it's perfect to document a lot of those special memories with.

Scrap more than two photos with the Time to Travel collection l Kirei Baldwin

Hi Everyone! Have you got lots of holiday photos to scrap? I certainly do... see how I added twelve photos onto a single layout! Last month I went on a 7 night cruise in Europe with some of my scrappy friends. As is typical of us scrapbookers I have loads and loads of photos, and I wanted to get my entire holiday documented but I knew I just wouldn't do that if I stuck to just one or two photos on each layout as is my typical style. So I went small and printed out eleven tiny square photos (just under 1½" each) and one large 3¾" square photo. This allowed me to document my entire day out in Montenegro, which was one of the four ports we visited. I'm really happy with how this is working for me, and at least I know will get my entire holiday scrapped this way! Obviously if I have some fave photos I want to make more of a feature of, then I can go back later and scrap those.

I decided to go with a white card background as having so many photos I felt this would be the best option to make sure they stand out. After backing all my photos using yellow and orange patterned papers, and distressing the edges I placed them down onto the white card in a cascading design. Once I was happy with the placement I drew lightly under the edges of each one with a pencil and marked which colour each was. Using an ink blending brush I went round each the edge of each square with either yellow or orange inks to match each photo. Then I added splatters to each square in the same ink colour. This helps the photos to stand out against the rest of the embellishments.

After the ink dried, I attached all the photos with foam pads, adding a dimension to the layout that I absolutely love!

Then I pulled out a mix of coordinating embellishments and went to town filling in the gaps! This was the fun bit! 

I used a mix of the Doohickey Stickers and Ciao Chip Stickers to create my title.... 'Montenegro Adventure'. And finished off with journaling to document my day in port.

Fun in NYC, American Girl, Time To Travel Collection by Conny Craig

Hey Crafty Friends,

It's Conny here with the Time to Travel Collection, documenting one of the moments from our trip to NYC! For Savanna's birthday, she got to take a trip and shop at the American Girl Store. It was such an amazing day! Today, I am creating a 12X 12 Layout, and we're using two photos in the project.

Let's get started! For the base of the layout, I started with the Time To Travel Collection - 12 x 12 Double Sided Paper - Back Roads, using the floral side. Then I used the 12 x 12 Double Sided Paper - Daily Details, specifically the yellow side, which measures 11.5 x 11.5 inches. Lastly, I used white cardstock measuring 11X11 inches.

I backed up my 3x3 photos on a piece of back road paper, tearing the paper on one side to give it a distressed look. Then, I grabbed two tags from the ephemera words and tags collection, added ribbon, and placed one slightly on top of the other.

For around the photo I used the Bella Besties letter scramble for the title NYC! American Girl. The title starts from the top cluster. At the top cluster, I added that scalloped chipboard piece then the camera - bella pops, puffy stickers and make memories phrase.

Going back around the photo I added that Taxi, since we are in NYC, Why not, right? and florals around to finish the layout I sprinkled Distress spray stain in the vintage photo.

Using Horizontal Design to Create a Multi Photo Travel Layout / Time To Travel / Suzanna

Let's talk about a go to design principle that's very commonly seen in scrapbook layouts today; horizontal alignment. Alignment can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. A layout with horizontal flow is made up of multiple elements on the page that "line up" going across the page. This may be all the way across or not.

I used the Time to Travel collection today to create this layout of our trip home from Arizona for Spring Break;

The central body of the layout is made up of 5 horizontal elements; a combination of patterned papers and a scalloped border sticker from the Doohickey Cardstock Stickers. Three of these patterned papers have strong horizontal flow in their design even though they aren't stripes. Upon closer examination, the cloud paper is a horizontal pattern as the clouds are essentially lined up in rows. The arrows are quite obviously horizontal. The airplanes, while pointed vertical, are also lined up in horizontal rows across the page.

The header of the page, the section of the top, is made up of a mix of fussy cut tags from the Bagagge Claim patterned paper, tags from the Ephemera Icons and a pocket card from the Daily Details patterned paper. While they orient up/down, or vertical, because they are all lined up and move horizontally across the page, they too are considered a horizontal flow. The way they aligned, even the lettering and lines of journaling are horizontal.

Take a closer look at the pictures. The top three photos are vertical! Because they are matted together, all three is a row, they create a horizontal line. The white framing followed by the navy blue tone on tone patterned paper create a rectangular frame that, again, is horizontal. See how you can use tricks to create horizontal lines that help maintain the flow of a layout?

The bottom photo and embellishments are obviously horizontal. While the Postcard and Boarding Pass from the Ephemera Words pack are slightly askew, they still maintain an across the page alignment. Note the layering in the embellishments, as an aside. Dont' be afraid to add to an "as is" embellishment; I overlaid the chipboard airplane over the preprinted one and added a puffy sticker for some visual interest and texture. Placing this cluster beside the photo also maintains a horizontal flow.

Even the title is placed such that it runs horizontally.

Time to Travel: Card Inspiration

 

Welcome Bella friends.. Annette Allen here with you today and I am sharing a little travel fun. You can invite a friend or family member on a vaca with a fun homemade card using Bella Blvd: Time to Travel collection. 

 

 

Crate card from white cardstock A2 size.

 

Cut a 1 3/4 x 5 1/2 strip of the Time to Travel Road Trip backer paper and adhere it to the left side of your card using liquid glue. 

 

Mix a little black ink with water and splatter the right side of the card and let dry completely.

 

 

Die cut, fussy cut or machine cut three circles measuring 2 1/2, 2  and 1 1/2 inch circles on the Time to Travel Photo Op, Back Roads backer Daily Details backer. Adhere them to the card using liquid glue and foam tape. Use the foam tape when layering the circles so it has a little dimension. 

 

Cut a 1 x 1 3/4 strip of the Time to Travel Road Trip backer paper and add to the medium circle using from tape. 

 

 

Pick out the ADVENTURE and LOVE sentiments from the Time to Travel Ephemera Words & Tags and adhere to the center of the card. See photo on how to layer. 

 

Finishing up with a couple of these pretty Time to Travel Getaway Epoxy stickers.

Create card from white cardstock A2 size.

 

Cut an A2 panel of the Time to Travel Road Trip backer paper and adhere to the card base using liquid glue.

 

Die cut or machine cut a fun shape on the Time to Travel In The Clouds and adhere to the center of the card. 

 

Die cut or machine cut two scalloped circles and one circle 3 inches on the Time to Travel Road Trip backer, In The Clouds and In The Clouds backer. Adhere them all together using foam tape for dimension. 

 

Adhere your circle fun to the center of the card. 

 

Pick out this fun Plane from the Time to Travel Ciao Chip Board and adhere to the circle using foam tape.

 

Add one of those cute clouds from the Time to Travel Scenic Route Puffy Stickers.

 

Finishing with the sentiment from the Time to Travel Ephemera Words & Tags.

 

A travel invite with a card.... yes, please.

Up In The Sky | Time To Travel Collection | Brianna Lepper | Double Page Layout

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today and I've got a fun double page layout to share with y'all! I don't always make double page spreads, but when I do, I really enjoy it.  This week, the CT is working with the Time To Travel collection and I'm documenting a bunch of photos from my daughter's first airplane ride.  We are military and PCS'd from Louisiana to California and instead of driving, we shipped our cars and flew out here.  We flew first class (for the first time) and Annie did so well! Here's my page: 

To start, I took two pieces of white textured cardstock to use as a base. I then pulled out several of the 12x12 patterned papers and trimmed them down to strips that ranged from 3" inches, 2" inches, 1.5" inches and 1"inches. I ended up using the following papers: Love This Place!, Freeway, Road Trip and Back Roads. 

I layered all of the paper strips together and mirrored the layers on both pages.  I then matted my photos using another patterned paper and then arranged them on both pages.  I used one 4x4 photo, two 2x2 photos and four 2x3 photos. when I layered the photos together, they created some great spaces for my embellishments. I embellished using the Ephemera Icons and Words, Puffy Stickers and Epoxy Stickers.  I love all of the bold patterns and pretty embellishments. 

I love these two pages next to each other. This was such a big day for Annie and I'm so glad that I have these great photos from it.

The Jet Set Bella Pop was the perfect addition to this spread. 

Next, I went through the Ciao Chip Chipboard stickers and pulled in a few of the smaller elements.

Summer Fun with the Time To Travel Collection

Happy Tuesday Bella friends.. Annette Allen here with you today and I am all about summer with these two cards that I created using Bella Blvd: Time to Travel Collection.  Last week I share some fun travel cards and this week is full of Summer vibes. This collection is so diverse and I am here to show you. 

 

Create card from white cardstock A2 size.

 

Cut 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 squares using a paper trimmer out of the Time to Travel Vacay Vibes front and back and Bella Besties Gingham & Stripes 6x6 paper pad. I cut 12 squares and mixed up the patterns when I adhere them to the card. Start in the middle and work your way out and trim off the access. 

 

 

Pick out the Time to Travel Ciao Chip THE BEST sentiments and add a little foam tape to the back and adhere it to the center of the card. 

 

Add one of those cute flowers from the Scenic Route Puffy Stickers on the T of the Best sentiment. 

 

 

Use the Bella Besties Black Letter Scramble to spell SUMMER, adhere it to the card using foam tape. 

 

Pick the PICK HEART from the Time to Travel Ciao Chip and adhere to your card. It already comes with a sticky background. 

 

 

Send this card to someone who made your summer amazing. 

 

 

Create card from white cardstock A2 size.

 

Cut diagnal strips out of the Time to Travel On the Go backer, Love This Place and Daily Details backer. I used the paper trimmer and cut at an angle and then just line them up and trimmed off the access. Adhere to your card base using liquid glue. Make sure to mix up the patterns. 

 

 

Pick out some of the fun images from the time to Travel Ephemera Icons and adhere them to the lower part of the card using foam tape and liquid glue. 

 

Pick out the WISH YOU WHERE HERE from the Time to Travel Ephemera Words & Tags and adhere to your card using foam tape. 

 

 

To finish I added the fun Sunny Bella-Pops to the upper left part of the card and I also added the heart from the Ephemera Icons. 

 

 

All the things I love... yellow, palm trees and the sun shinning over it all. Send this card to someone you miss and wish there were there.

Time to Travel + Mix & Match Patterns | Yvette Weber

 

Hi, this is Yvette! I'm happy to share my latest layout using the Time to Travel collection from Bella Blvd. We were asked to use the Letter Scrambles and combine different patterns while creating the design. It was a lot of fun playing with these products, and I can't wait to show you the result!

 

 

I wanted to enhance some of the beautiful papers in the Time to Travel collection, so I selected three pattern papers from the collection and used the large wave guide from the Alphabet Alignment Guide as a template. Next, I added some hand-stitching details and layered the wave designs, slightly overlapping onto my white cardstock background. The end result is a visually appealing and unique design that is sure to impress.

 

 

I added a single 3-inch circle photo in the lower right corner and adorned it with some Ephemera Icons as well as a beautiful Ciao Chip chipboard flower. Additionally, I placed three smaller photos (measuring 2x2) in the upper left corner and added an acrylic word saying "family" on top of them. To further decorate the layout, I chose two patterned papers and cut them into half-circles, which I placed on top of the photos above and embellished accordingly.

 

 

I have combined the acrylic word "family" with some white Letter Scramble to create my page title.

 

 

I decided to add a strip of washi tape to the bottom of the layout, as it would add an extra dimension to the overall design. To further enhance its appearance, I finished it by adding some black puffy star stickers and paint spatters, which helped create a cohesive and visually appealing layout.

Time to Travel & Letter Scrambles I Heather Cerulo

Hello there!  Heather here today to share a layout using the fabulous Time To Travel collection.  I am documenting a summer vacation from last year, when my husband and I rented electric bikes.  Such fun memories!

 

 

To begin, I cut a a few pieces of patterned paper from this collection and layered them together.  I also added the Plaids & Dotty paper in Cotton Candy to bring out the pink in this collection and my shirt.  Next, I created my mixed font title.  I started with a title from the Ciao Chip, and then added the rest in different fonts from the Letter Scrambles alphas.

 

 

The next step was the create embellishment clusters using the Ephemera Words & Phrases, Icons, Epoxy Stickers and Puffy Stickers.  I pulled out the keys to add to the clusters because we had a motor on our bikes!  Perfect fit!

 

 

The cameras in this collection are so cute, so I had to add them to my clusters as well!

 

 

Lastly, I added a few pieces of ephemera on the top right, and finished this layout!

Time to Travel & Letter Scrambles | Stephanie B

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great day! Stephanie B here today sharing my most recent project for Bella Blvd. This week we were asked to create projects using the Time to Travel Collection mixed with Letter Scrambles, here is what I put together...
Admittedly I already had a project using Time to Travel on the go but decided that I wanted to change it from 9x12 to a 12x12 layout. I cut out the parts I wanted to keep and adapted the rest to fit a bigger size. 

I added my title using Letter Scrambles Alphabet stickers, then finished embellishing with Doohickey and Puffy Stickers.

For the arrows on my layout, I used paper strips in differing Bella Besties and Time to Travel patterns sewn into place. I used a few Ephemera pieces in a little airplane cluster, putting the "up up and away" of my title into action with the direction of the arrows and cute plane.
