Squeeze the Day: So Sweet

 

Hi friends! I got the opportunity to play around with Squeeze The Day and I love it! I know you will too! It's a berry filled collection that also includes lots of bright colors and fun patterns. I really wanted to show off a few of my favorite patterns from the 12x12" papers. I used a free cut file from Paper Issues and cut it out with each of the four papers (Fruity Hearts, So Berry Sweet, Fruit Salad, and Bananas For You). Once I cut out each one, I choose three triangles from each pattern and doodled a black edge around each one and added some stamping. Then I arranged them in a circular pattern and adhered them to my white cardstock base with foam tape.

 

I documented some pictures from our spring trip to the strawberry patch. There couldn't possibly be a more perfect collection for such an event, right?! Under my photos, I added a black cardstock scallop along with the cutest stripe scallop from the Squeeze The Day Ciao Chipboard. I embellished by adding some (chipboard) hearts!

On the top, I used more pieces of Chipboard along with the acrylic clouds. I love the beautiful blue color and the tiny heart cutout.

At the bottom I saved room for my title, and of course I used my favorite Florence Alphas in black. They go perfectly with every layout! To finish the page, I stamped a little more and added the date! 

And that's a wrap on an easy and super cute layout. Here's a list of all the supplies I used:

Heart Attack Week Day 4 | Sarah Millerhouse

Happy Valentine’s week! I love celebrating love, and I adore all the hearts I am seeing this week! I’m excited to share this love layout I created, featuring pictures of my niece with each of my babies and me! These are three of the people I love most in the world, so the photos were perfect for a love layout! 

I started with the Rainbow Heart Border Bella Blvd cut file. I ungrouped the hearts in the file and moved them around my page. I made them all different sizes and cut them out of solid white cardstock. I used the negative as the foundation for this page. 

Before I lifted it off the cutting mat, I used a little distress oxide around each heart to give a soft glow. I knew what patterned papers I was using to back each heart and used a coordinating color of ink. 

I backed each heart behind the white cardstock using patterned papers from the “You Are My Sunshine” and “Hearts & Ombré” collections. I stitched around most of the hearts using a few different types of stitches and color coordinated embroidery thread. I added dots of glitter around the hearts I didn’t stitch. This gives your eye varied details to notice and great texture! 

I filled the biggest heart with puffy hearts from the Puffy Hearts Stickers and Trinkets Puffy Stickers sheets. I included hearts in each of the colors on the page and varied the levels by using craft foam. 

I included ephemera hearts from “You Are My Sunshine” and Ciao Chip hearts from the “Squeeze the Day” collection. I added my sweet photos and distressed the edges of patterned paper behind them. I finished by adding my title using Ciao Chip letters from the “My Candy Girl” collection.

Heart Attack Week | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Happy Valentine's Day!!  I hope you all have a great day spending it with the ones that you love!  For my layout, I used photos that I had taken of my boys when we had a dinner date at one of our favorite sushi restaurants.  My oldest was messing around with my youngest and I'm so happy that I captured it.  Here's my page, make sure to check out the process video at the end of this post to see how it came together!

 

 

I thought it would be fitting to use the Heart Attack Cut Out for this page!  This week is all about hearts, so I wanted to put on as many as I could.  I also wanted to do a bit of mixed media on my background and thought it would be fun to turn half of the Cut Out into a stencil.  So I tore it in half, added a bit of adhesive to the back to keep it still and then sprayed on a rainbow of colors using my Shimmerz Paints sprays from my stash.  I love how it turned out!  Then I popped the remaining portion of the Cut Out on foam tape and adhered it down.  I planned on adding all of my photos and embellishments, right on top.

 

 

I chose the Squeeze The Day collection specifically for the Ciao Chip sticker as my title (not only are they squeezing their day, but Noah is squeezing Elijah's neck and I thought it was cute lol).  This collection is also fun and has a lot of heart elements in it!  I used quite a few of the hearts from the Ephemera Icons and the Ciao Chip stickers.

I matted my photos on vellum and arranged them so that I could add clusters of hearts between them all.  

 

 

For additional heart elements, I pulled in some Heart Hugs, Trinkets Puffy Stickers and a few Epoxy stickers.

Sketch Week Day 5 | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Welcome back to the Bella Blog and another day of sketch inspiration! Erica here with you and I am excited to share my layout using this months sketch for inspiration. 

This months sketch is lovely and I had so much fun creating with it and my Bella Blvd stash of products.

I have been wanting to use the Zoo Crew cut file that is available in the Silhouette Design Store to document one of our summer zoo trips! I knew it would be the perfect title piece for my layout and I placed it towards the bottom of my page. The sketch does now show a cut file but it does have a large title so this works perfectly! 

I started with the Fairy Garden 12x12 paper from the Let's Go On An Adventure collection as my starting point for what colors I wanted to use. This is my favorite paper from this collection and I love to use it! I fussy cut some of the florals on this page because I knew I wanted to add them around the layout. 

I pulled papers to match the Fairy Garden paper from Squeeze the Day, Bug Explorer and the Chloe collection. I backed the cut file and also die cut some stitched hearts to layer up next to my photo,

I mixed up the sketch a bit but it was great to use as my inspiration piece to get my layout started and I love how it turned out! To finish it off I added my journaling and some matte enamel dots from the Cooper collection.

Sketch Week Day 5 | Karlla Dauer

Hello Bella BLVD friends,

Karlla here and I'm very happy to share my new layout with you!

I love having fun creating with sketch and how the possibilities are endless.

I'm suspicious to say, but I love making layouts with multiple layers.

They're not good for albums, but they look great in frames.

I'm in love with "Squeeze The Day" and "Besties" collections together.

The colors and prints are amazing.

I loved this sketch and as I like to explore the roles, it was a good opportunity to do the detail I love.

I like to make this turn on paper.

I make this turn and sew the edge.

You can glue, it has the same effect.

I made all the decoration details with Ephemeras, Chipboards and Acrylic Word.

I love it so much and I hope you love too.

Sketch Week - Day 4 | Nathalie D.

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to continue this week's Sketch inspiration.   Sketches are like a blueprint for your page, as it provides a good foundation/idea of where all your papers, photos, and embellishments are placed for a cohesive look; the rest is up to you.  Let me show you the sketch (provided by Nikki) we are working with this week:

 

 

In addition, we are using Squeeze the Day and Bella Besties collections to complete our projects, and here is my layout...

 

 

As you can see I stayed pretty close to the original sketch, but added a few changes.   

 

 

I started by creating the fold (as per sketch on the Lemon Fresh paper.  I then, backed the fold with a piece of the Fruit Salad paper (the b side is more of a solid pattern that matches my nephew's shirt).   I then glued this to a Bella Besties Heart/Ombre in Gulf, this completes my page foundation.

 

 

I followed the location of the photos and embellishments as per the sketch.   I added tags behind the photos, and replaced the stars with all the hearts from the Squeeze the Day collection.   For the title, I am using a piece of ephemera and Florence Alpha Stickers in Bell Pepper.   

 

 

Here is where I made the sketch my own.   I decided to move my lines of journal away from the main cluster next to the photos. There is already plenty of pattern and script, which will make it hard to read the journal.  My choice was to create a smaller fold at the bottom left corner of the page (just as on the opposite corner).   I added a bit of interest in a cluster of embellishments, and then added my lines of journal at the bottom of the page.  

 

 

I  added a few drops of black ink -as per sketch- to complete my page.   I love how this turned out, and  how fast it came together using the sketch as inspiration.   Remember to share your projects inspired by the sketch.  WE would love to see your takes on the sketch, too!

Sketch Week Day 3 | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Erica here with you today for day 3 of sketch week! I am loving everyone take on this sketch and I hope you will give it a shot and share it with us! Follow the sketch exactly or take your favorite elements from the sketch and make it your own!

I think this sketch is so much fun and it was so easy to create a layout of my own with it! I really do love the folded over paper in the sketch but I changed it up for my layout and just trimmed my 12x12 Bella Besties and adhered to a pattern paper from the Squeeze the Day collection. 

For a little bit of detail I added a punched boarder between the two different pattern papers. 

I used some white acrylic paint to add some splatter to the background for some fun! My photos are silly summer selfies with Liam Jay! He loves to take photos and I will soak it all in as long as I can! I printed my photos out in black and white since the colors in the photos clashed with the colors I was using for my layout. 

The sketch has star elements around the page and I decided to go with some die cut hearts! I also pulled in some Bella Blvd epoxy icons from the Squeeze the Day collection. For my title I used the Aria Alpha stickers in black and think it really pops on the page!

Sketch Week Day 2 | Sarah

Hi, Bella friends! It's me Sarah (@redoaklines) back on the blog today. Today, I'm excited to share my take on this month's sketch. Have you seen it yet? It's a good one!

See, I told you it was an awesome one to work with! I love the design of this one so much. Here's what I created:

 

I wanted to focus on using the oh-so-sweet Squeeze the Day collection with some awesome Bella Bestie papers. Don't you just love that the Bella Bestie collection packs always coordinate with all of the collections?! No need to try to color match cardstock or patterned papers to Bella products; the work is already done for you with Bella Besties! 

Instead of the stars shown in the sketch, I used a ton of the Squeeze the Day Doohickey stickers, as well as some Ephemera Icons to help embellish my photos.

Isn't that brushstroke of the word "Love" pretty? I saw it in the Icons pack and knew it was going to be perfect for this layout. 

Oh, and I went to town with the epoxy stickers here, hehe. Those cute, little flowers can add so much dimension to any project.

Bella Besties & Acrylics Week Day 6 | Melissa Mann

Good Morning! This is Melissa here today with you and I have a brand new project using the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre paper pack. 

I adhered a block of Kraft card stock to the pink Bella Besties Ombre paper. I wanted to find a way to subtly use the Aria alphabet stickers so I layered three separate pieces of pattern paper from Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre paper pack and a piece from the Let's Go On An Adventure paper pack. Once these three were layered down and the bottom edge had been distressed, I stitched all of these down at the top of the block. Afterwards, I layered the top piece of the pattern paper with the Aria Alphabet stickers. I LOVED how it turned out!

On the lower half of the layout, I placed a digital cut file that I had cut out of white card stock. This is the "Day At the Park" cut file and it can be found HERE. I layered more pattern paper behind the word PARK and then glued this down on the bottom half of this project. 

My pictures were layered on top of some tags and other die-cuts from the Squeeze the Day Ephemera Icons pack. Other embellishments were layered that included Doohickey stickers, Acrylic Hearts, and Ciao Chip.

This is the finished result! I loved the big impact of that BIG title and the subtle mono layer at the top of the layout.

Bella Besties & Acrylics Week Day 4 | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today for Bella Besties Week!  We are using the Aria Alphas, Acrylics and the Hearts and Ombre Paper.  I'm super excited to share this layout with you because I had so much fun creating it!  Do you like to create monochromatic layouts?  I know I do and for this layout, I chose a color that I haven't used before.. yellow!  This page is so bright and fresh and it makes me so happy.  I hope that you like it!  I have a process video for this page so make sure to click the link at the end of this post!

 

 

I was so inspired by the Ombre side of the Hearts and Ombre paper in Bell Pepper and it's what gave me the idea of creating a monochromatic layout. I wanted something layered on top of this gorgeous paper so I went to the Bella Blvd cut files in the Silhouette Design Store and chose the super cute Wirey Flower.  I cut a few different ones in a few sizes so that I could layer them around my page.  After they were done cutting, I ink blended some Distress Oxide Ink in Squeezed Lemonade to the centers.  I love how they turned out!!  A little pop of yellow but still a lot of the white cardstock showing so that they could pop off of the page.  

 

 

Next, I matted my photo using the hearts side of the Bell Pepper paper and also added a piece in White so that my photo wouldn't blend in too much with the background.  Once my photo was adhered to my base, I arranged the cut file flowers in a diagonal design from the bottom left to the top right. I even had some going off of the page and I also popped a few up on some foam tape.  I love the texture and dimension!

 

 

For my title, I used the Fearless and Strong Acrylic Words set and added onto it using the Aria Alphas in Bell Pepper.  

 

 

I ended up pulling a few yellow elements from both the Chloe and Squeeze the Day collections.  I adhered a few ephemera icons and words onto the page.  I also added in a couple of yellow acrylic hearts.

 

 

To finish the page off, I added a cute clip, a heart hug and a few flowers from the Trinkets Puffy Stickers in Bell Pepper.  I also added some Matte Enamels to all of the floral centers.

Bella Besties & Acrylics Week - Day 3 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of inspiration with this week's theme: BELLA BESTIES, ARIA PUFFY STICKERS, and ACRYLIC WORDS.   I have to say that I love (aka hoard) Bella  Acrylic Words,  I have pretty much every single one that has been released ( in multiples), so this was an easy/hard project for me! However, I had an idea on how I could combine them all the goodies in a page in a simple but impactful way...

 

The key to  making the acrylic words stand out was to bring color behind them.  So, I chose this deconstructed-layered-rainbow design using Bella Besties Ombre/Heart for my page.

 

 

I started with Bella Besties Oyster for the background, and then played with layers of paper ( Plum, Orange, Bell Pepper, Gulf, Ice, & Cotton Candy) so that they show on the page as a cascade of color layers.

 

 

Once the papers were secured on the page,  I started to build my title using Aria Puffy Stickers (that match the paper layer) and acrylic words.  I love the change in dimension and texture between the layers.

 

 

I transformed the picture of my kids and littles to black and white - this makes it pop from the page-, and attached it to the top of the paper cascade.  I used a few pieces of ephemera to create a cluster at the top of the picture; and used Trinkets and epoxy shapes to add small pops of color to the corner of each paper layer.

 

I love how this turned out, and I am happy to see my beloved acrylic words perfectly displayed in a layout.   Remember to come back tomorrow for more inspiration.
