Tiny Tots 2.0 and 3+ Photos | Sarah

Hello, Bella friends! Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going well, and you get some time to get crafty.

Anyway, it's me Sarah (@redoaklines) hosting today's blog post, and I'm excited to share a layout using multiple photos. I worked with the Tiny Tots 2.0 collection to get this one done.

Here's what I created:

I managed to fit four photos onto this layout. It's always a win when I can get multiple photos onto a layout. The more photos, the better, right?!

This is a pretty straightforward layout. I started by adding border strips and triangles of patterned paper to the left side of my page. 

Then, I wanted to create a rainbow to match the rainbow border strip. I decided to use some of the Bella Bestie puffy trinket arrow stickers. Essentially, you could use any of the puffy trinket stickers to create that rainbow look. I love that these stickers come in all the colors, but the best part is that the colors all coordinate with all Bella collections. 

Aside from the arrows, I wanted to make sure I drew attention to my photo strip using elements from the Tiny Tots 2.0 collection. I embellished my layout with various Doohickey stickers, Ciao Chips, and Icons.

My title is also a combination of pieces from the Tiny Tots 2.0 Doohickey Stickers, Ciao Chips, and Ephemera Icons. I love that these products all cohesively work together to make a fun title for my layout.

Okay, that's all I have for today. Are you someone who likes to use multiple photos on your layouts, or do you prefer keeping it simple with one photo? I find that I like it both ways. Some days, I'm all about the photos. Other days, I like using one. Either way, I like to get those photos documented and into my scrapbook.

Bella Besties week Day 6 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hi there!

Nathalie here with another fun day of our Bella Besties week.  Our theme this week is Love, and there is nothing ( well, maybe my husband) that I love more than my three children (and, yes! one is a furry kind).   We are so blessed to be entrusted these souls for us to shape and then let go to the world.  So, even though motherhood can be challenging, I wanted to focus on the good and documented it as I see it, in a rainbow!

 

What better way to capture love than with hearts.  I used a metal die set and cut hearts from Bella Besties Dot/Graph and Bella Besties  Ombre/Heart.  I made sure that the patterns changed  so that there is interest in the background.

Since the design is pretty simple, I chose to add texture to the hearts.  For this, I used a paper piercing tool to create a stitching guide (poked holes around the outter perimeter of the shapes), then hand stitched each heart with matching embroidery floss.

 

Once all the hearts were stitched, I placed them on the cardstock in a rainbow order.  A bit of foam adhesive helps to create dimension on the hearts and also gives movement to the layout.  I did not want to overcrowd the hearts with decorations; so, I used stickers and ephemera words from Mom Life, Home Sweet Home, and Fa La La collection, and  tried to place them following the color of the hearts.

I kept the layers behind the picture fairly simple and added a few pieces of paper from Squeeze the Day collection.   I continued adding just simple word stickers and embellishments to finish the page.

 

I kept the title pretty simple so that it will not take away from the rainbow hearts.  I mixed an acrylic word, with Florence Alpha stickers, and Alpha Stickers from Monsters and Friends Doohickey sticker.  I added a few Matte Enamel Dots from different collections to match the hearts and called it done!

 

 

I love how this page turned out, and I hope this week has given you ideas on how to use Bella Besties to document your beloved memories!

Fall & Winter Themed Week Day 6 | Nathalie

Hi there Bella Blvd Friends!

Nathalie with you today with one last bit of Fall inspiration before we head into the jolliest season of the year.  I keep a very visual journal of our days; so, today i want to share with you two of the newest entries created with the new Bella Besties Ombre/Heart collection.

 

I started my projects by cutting the leaves from the Bell Pepper, McKintosh, Orange, Punch and Pony Bella Besties Ombre/Heart Papers using the Fall Leaves cut file (#332735 Silhouette Store).  

For my first entry, I chose to create a pocket page.   I cut the Guacamole Ombre/Heart paper for the base of the picture. Once, I set it in place, I added a few of the leaves as if flying/falling at the bottom of the page.   I used some of the negative of the picture to add my title using the Florence Alphabet in black.  A few of the matte enamel dots complete the page.

 To create the pocket cards, I first trimmed one of the 4x6 cut apart cards from the Spooky and Sweet collection, then added a piece of the Guacamole Ombre/heart paper to cover the writing, and then just added a few more leaves.    For my filler card, I used the lighter side of the Guacamole Ombre paper -cut  to size-  them added a tag from the Legacy collection and top it of with one of the leaves. I carried over the phrase stickers and enamel dots to create a well balanced spread.

For my next spread, I wanted to use all the leaves and color to bring Fall Splendor to my pages.   So, I started with a bit of ink blending to the white cardstock background.

I used a gel pen to draw the small vein line on the leaves, then used a bit of foam adhesive to attach them to the background.  I used a combination of the Wonky puffy alpha and Florence Sticker alpha to complete my title.

For the other side of the page, I cut a piece of the Guacamole Ombre/Hearts paper to size.  I backed the picture with a piece of Bell Pepper Ombre Heart paper then just added it to the page.  Just a few embellishments ( Let's Go on Adventure, Freshly Squeezed and Chloe collections) bring the focus to the picture.

Thanksgiving Week Day 4 | Nathalie

 Hello there Bella Blvd friends!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our US friends! 

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of inspiration using the beautiful Bella Blvd goodies.  This week we are documenting Gratitude.  I couldn't think of anything that fills my thankful cup than being a mom to my two teen-soon-to-be-adult kids.   

 

I wanted a colorful cascade of hearts for my page, so I reached for the Love You Lots cut-outs to build my layout.   I backed one of each of the hearts with vellum, then used foam adhesive to attach it to a piece of Hearts/Ombre White Bella Besties paper.  Once the cut out was in place, I fill each of the empty hearts' spaces with the new Bella Blvd Trinkets, so that I have a chain of rainbow hearts.

 

The new puffy stickers are colorful and small enough to fill the heart spaces and bring a pop of color to the page.   I decided to add a few extra stickers to some of the vellum hearts on the left of the page.  These help to emphasize the colors in each of the hearts.

 

 

I placed my picture to the right of the heart cut-outs.  I added a few pieces of papers from the Mom's Life collection as layers behind the pictures, Then decided to create smaller clusters at the corners of the pictures.

I used a few more of the Trinket stickers as well as stickers from the Mom Life, and Mind Your Manners collection.  I added a simple title to the bottom of the pictures using the Oyster Florence Alpha stickers.  Finally, I added pieces of the Mom Life Doo Hickey edge stickers to frame the page.

Just love how this turned out, and how there is beauty in simplicity,color and texture.   I hope this inspires you to pull your Bella Blvd goodies to document your Gratitudes!  Remember to share with us your projects, so that we can be inspired by you, too

SMILE ALWAYS Layout inspiration with Nathalie

Hi there Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to share with you my first layout using the new Bella Besties collection.  The Ombre papers, in the Bella Blvd palette, are amazing (you are going to need multiples).   As soon, as the papers arrived, I had the idea of creating some sort of rainbow on my page.   So, I pulled a few dies and created this layout all about my girl:

 

Rainbow and butterflies, do you know a better combination?  And all of these were made from the new Bella Besties Ombre paper.   

 

 

I started by cutting a strip of paper from the Orange, Peep, Mckintosh, Ice, Plum and Guacamole  (making sure that I had the ombre effect on the strip of paper).  I used two buildable butterfly dies to cut the images from the paper ( Spellbinders and Altenew dies) and then glued them together.  I placed them on the page, and used a pencil to draw the flying trails.

I used a paper piercing tool, and created the stitching guides.  Here is where I pop the Hamilton soundtrack, and handstitched away the background.  It took a little bit to get through it, but love the results.   I backed the picture with a few papers from Mom Life and Home Sweet Home collections and set it in the middle of the page.

I glued the butterflies in place with a bit of dimensional adhesive.   I added a few stickers to the pictures and then created a title by mixing acrylic pieces and Florence alpha stickers in Peep.  A few lines of journal and a enamel dots complete the page!

Be sure to check the new Ombre/Heart Bella Besties. The papers are so versatile, you are going to have to order doubles!!!  I cannot wait to see what you create with this new paper collection.

Mood Board inspired |Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to share a new page inspired on this month's mood board.   The colors, shapes and designs in this month's board were a great starting point for my page.  Let me show you the moodboard we are using as inspiration.

How can i not love all the vibrant colors and shapes in the board.  Those were a large part of the inspiration for my page:

The first thing that pop into my eyes was the diagonal stripe and triangular shape on the first two squares.   In addition, i just love all the teal color pop, and then there are the circles/pie shapes.  So, i decided to mix them up on this page.

I started with the background work.   For this, I chose the Goofing Off paper from the Pop Quiz collection, and added a bit of ink blending using some teal, pink, orange and mustard yellow colors - these are the most prominent colors in the board-. While the ink settle, i worked on creating the circles for the layout - i wanted a formation of circles as the one in the board for the background).

 

I used washi tape and attached it to white cardstock  to form the black and white strip square from the board.   Then used papers from the Bella Besties and Squeeze The Day collection to create the pie forms  so that they have the same formation as the first square in the board.  I cut all the circles with the same die, and also used some of the same patterned papers to cut full circles. I added a bit of detail to the circles with a white pen, and attached them to the background with dimensional adhesive.

I placed the picture on the top right side of the circle rows and added a few embellishments. I then decided to color block embellishments on the full circles  using die cuts and stickers from the Squeeze the Day, Chloe and Mom Life collection.  I finished the page by creating a title using the new Aria Puffy stickers in White.

 

I love how this page turned out  using the mood board as inspiration.   Now it is your turn to use the amazing Bella Blvd products to create a page of your own!  Remember to share with us your projects, as we love to be inspired by your work!

Your #1 Fan | Mother's Day Layout | Brianna Lepper

Hey y'all! Brianna Lepper here and I hope you had a fantastic International Scrapbooking Day and weekend!  This Sunday is Mother's Day and the creative team will be honoring that day with some fabulous Mother's Day projects all week long!  For my layout, I used the Mom Life collection since it has so many cute elements!

For the base of my layout, I chose the Jammies All Day patterned paper.  I love the black and white pattern and thought it would be awesome to lay a bunch of bright, pretty colors on top of it.  First, I punched out some squares using a few punches from my stash.  Then, I applied some color using the Vicki Boutin watercolor markers.  I sprayed water down to wet the surface of the paper and then dropped on some color.  I made sure to use colors that matched the collection nicely.

Since this page is about my Mom, I wanted to use a lot of floral pieces.  So I went ahead and fussy cut a bunch of flowers from the My Tribe patterned paper.  Once those were all cut and ready, I started working on the design of my layout.  My mixed media squares were all dry so I started adhering them onto the page having them cascade down on the left side. I staggered my photos on the large squares and glued those down as well.  I usually don't add multiple photos to a page, so this was fun for me!

Now that my mixed media squares and photos were down, I started embellishing.  I pulled some ephemera icon pieces as well as some cardstock stickers from the collection.  I love layering and adding foam squares to a lot of my embellishments.  I especially love layering floral pieces.  I grabbed the fussy cut florals and started tucking them here and there, also adding some tangled thread underneath a few.  

I pulled the Bella Besties Word Salad sticker book and added some to one of my square pieces.  I also added some of the hearts from the cotton candy Florence alpha stickers.  There are quite a few pineapple pieces in this collection and since these photos were taken in Hawaii, they fit onto this page perfectly! I fussy cut some small ones from the Borders patterned paper to add around my page.

For my title, I used some Florence alphas in Black as well as some Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers in Punch.  I love puffy stickers so I decided to sprinkle some of the Punch Mix Puffy Star Stickers around my page as well.

I loved embellishing on the smaller squares with smaller pieces.  So fun and simple!

Hello Bella Blvd friends! Happy National Scrapbooking Day to you all!  It is nice to have a day to celebrate this beautiful hobby even amidst this unprecedented time.   I hope you all are enjoying all the projects we have prepared for you.  One of the reasons i am drawn to scrapbooking is the need to tie my daily stories to pictures and feelings.  I keep a daily journal routine, and use a lot of the stories to create keepsakes for my family.  Here is one of the entries in my family album ( COVID documenting/gratitude journal).

 

I wanted something really colorful to lighten up the feeling of the page, so i pulled the Truck Parade paper from the Fireworks and Freedom collection to use as the background for my layout. 

 

Unfortunately this was supposed to be my daughter's last year of High School, and since the pandemic was declared, she has seen all the milestone slowly disappear.  We always talk about God, his blessing and finding rainbows after the storm. So, i decided to give this page a shower of rainbows.  For this, I used the Rainy Clouds  cut file to cut all the clouds and raindrops from Bellas Besties papers.  Once i glued them on the page,  i used a white gel pen to add the small white lines that give a more 3-d look to each piece.

 

I am a journaler above all, so i decided to write all about our conversation and printed this on vellum.  I cut the journal to fit within the page, then added the picture of my daughter and a few embellishments from the Mom Life, Splash Zone and Wish Big collection.

 

 

The last thing i added was a title to the page.  For this i mixed alphas from the Florence Alpha Stickers in Black, Oyster and White; then added a simple phrase sticker from the Word Salad sticker tablet - Legacy collection-.

February Mood Board | Leanne

Hey Bella Blvd Friends! It is Leanne here today to share some more February mood board inspiration! Isn't it just divine!!

All those pretty pinks and reds! But can I tell you a secret..? I think I got stuck on the first image of "X's" and "O's". Take a look for yourself!

Yep. I definitely got stuck. But that's not to say my layout still doesn't suit the mood board criteria. Thanks to Mom Life patterned paper collection, I can still have a fun and quirky layout that incorporates the mood board feel. However, to start off with this layout I wanted to add some hand stitched love. 

This was quite a time consuming activity, but I adore the texture it adds to the page. One of my tips when attempting this sort of back ground is to take advantage of an electronic cutting machine. After selecting a font suitable for easy hand stitching (trust me! you don't want to make it too complicated!) the letters can be grouped and aligned neatly on your cardstock base. Then it is simply a matter of using a perforated cut rather than fully cutting out the cardstock shapes. Once this step has been completed, I use a paper piercer and the perforated lines as a guide to maintain even stitching.

I chose to use three different colored embroidery thread to stay true to the color theme of the mood board. And then added extra color via the fussy cut elements on the page.

This cute ephemera piece pretty much sums up my story and I just had to include it on my layout. I mean, isn't that what love is all about! *grin*

New Year's Resolutions | Kelly

Hello everyone! It's Kelly here today sharing a layout about goals for the New Year....it"s created with one of my all time favorite Bella collections: Mom Life...

 

I am digging on triangle lately, and have used them here to create my background. The floral paper is made from an 8.5 inch square piece of patterned paper...and the yellow triangles are made from a 3.5 inch square.  For the diamond paper, I just followed the pattern.

I incorporated glasses from the Pop Quiz topped with the year for my title. The planner from the Mom Life paper pieces grounds the title perfectly.

Boy, this year flew by fast....Are you ready for 2020?
