Spring & Easter Day 2 | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Erica here today to share some spring inspiration using Bella Blvd cut files and the Home Sweet Home collection!

I started out with a piece of the Hearts & Ombre Bella Besties in Bell Pepper and trimmed it down to 11.50x11.50 and matted it on the Welcome Home 12x12 pattern paper. I used one of the new Bella Blvd cut files from the Silhouette Design Store for my title and backed it with papers in the Home Sweet Home collection.

I added the backed cut file towards the bottom of the Bell Pepper Hearts & Ombre paper. I used the same Welcome Home pattern paper to fussy cut some flowers and added a couple floral clusters to the page. 

My photos are of Liam and I taking some selfies in our new bunny headbands! I printed out four photos and matted them on some of the Bella Besties in Peep Hearts! 

Liam loves to take photos so I take advantage of these every chance I get! I tucked in some florals die cuts around the cut file and popped up one of the heart stickers from the Doohickey Home Sweet Home sticker sheet.

Spring & Easter Week Day 1 | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to continue bringing you more Spring inspiration using the beautiful Bella Blvd. products.   Finally the weather is starting to change here in Canada, and soon,  we will be able to go for long walks at the park.   We love visiting the park at the height of Cherry Blossom season, everything is just too beautiful.  So, I pulled a few of those pictures to create this page...

 

 

I love the clean and flowery feel of the page, and it was so easy to put together.   Starting with a bit of mixed media on the background.

 

 

I pulled a paper from the Home Sweet Home collection, and trimmed to 11.5"x11.5".  I then, used a small ink blending brush to messily add some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide to the background in a diagonal line.   Then finished the application with a few splatters of the diluted ink.

 

 

While the ink dried, I used papers from the Chloe collection 6x6 paper pad, and also from the Bella Besties collection to back the flowers from the Live Love Meow Cut Outs pack.   All the pops of color with the white outline is just like little pops of color for the page.

 

 

I printed the two pictures, and backed them  and the background page with papers from the Home Sweet Home collection.   The fresh colors of the papers are perfect for the clean look of the page.  I used embellishments from the same collection to add extra sentiment to the cut out and around the pictures.

 

For the page title, I used the "Day at The Park" cut file (design # 346832).  I cut it three times from white cardstock, stacked them together, and then backed it with Bella Besties in Gulf, and attach it to the bottom of the layout.  Then used embellishments from the Home Sweet Home collection on the page, then added Matte Enamel dots from Cooper collection to complete the page.

Alphabets Week Day 4 | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd. friends!

Nathalie here, so excited and grateful to be back for another term working with all the beautiful Bella Blvd products.   We are starting the new term with projects and inspiration featuring our latest alpha stickers.   If you have seen my work before then, you know I love journal, and black and white with a hint of rainbow, therefore this project was a fun one to put together...

 

I love my family, and the best memories always happen when we are together.  So the best way to bring the story to the page was using a large title, hearts and a bit of color.

 

I started by drawing a heart in the center of the White Bella Besties Ombre/Hearts.  Using a paper piercing tool, I created a stitching guide on the drawn heart, and then used a chain stitch to define the heart on the page.   Here, I used a combination of the Oyster Florence Alpha Stickers and Aria Puffy Stickers to fill the heart with my title ( a piece of wax paper helps to align everything in place before gluing it permanently to the paper).

 

 

I reserved the top right quadrant of the heart to place my photo (these are all my cousins from my dad's side of the family).  I framed the picture with a few papers so that it will stand out from the heart.   A bit of foam adhesive helps to make it pop from the page!  Since I did not want to take away from the title work, I chose to keep my embellishments to a repeating element -hearts- in rainbow clusters.

 

 

I placed the clusters at the corner of the picture, bottom of the heart, and the left side of the heart.  Most of the hearts come from the Home Sweet Home collection along with some Bella Hugs. To finish the page, I added a few lines of journal, then added matte enamel shapes from different collection around each cluster.

 

 

I love how this turned out, and how the alphas just bring the story and sentiment of the page together in a nice and colorful way.  Remember to come back tomorrow for more inspiration using alpha stickers.  Cannot wait to see what you create with them, too!

Alphabets Week Day 2 | Tegan

Hi Bella friends! Tegan here with you today for fun with alphas week! For today's layout I paired the super fun Florence Alphabet Stickers with the Home Sweet Home collection. I love that the Florence Alphabet Stickers come in all of the amazing Bella Blvd colors. I was easily able to add lots of color using all of the different colored alphas on this project! 

I started with a piece of the Hearts & Ombre Patterned Paper in Peep as my background. I then used the Florence Alphabet Stickers to embellish words that describe family all around the page. Here I used the Florence stickers in McIntosh, Orange, and Plum. Aren't the colors just as yummy as they sound?! I used some Home Sweet Home Ephemera pieces and Chipboard Stickers to anchor the words. 

I then used the Florence Alphabet Stickers in Ice to describe family! Here I layered my photo over pieces of patterned papers from the Home Sweet Home collection. I then used the chipboard word 'family' from the Home Sweet Home Chipboard Stickers for my title. 

Under the title, I used the Black and Bell Pepper Florence Alphabet Stickers to describe family! I just can't get enough of these adorable letter stickers!

Which colors of the Florence Alphabet Stickers are your favorite?! I love them all so much and I can't pick a favorite. Of course they match beautifully with all of the Bella Blvd collections as well as the Home Sweet Home collection that I used here!

Bella Besties week Day 6 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hi there!

Nathalie here with another fun day of our Bella Besties week.  Our theme this week is Love, and there is nothing ( well, maybe my husband) that I love more than my three children (and, yes! one is a furry kind).   We are so blessed to be entrusted these souls for us to shape and then let go to the world.  So, even though motherhood can be challenging, I wanted to focus on the good and documented it as I see it, in a rainbow!

 

What better way to capture love than with hearts.  I used a metal die set and cut hearts from Bella Besties Dot/Graph and Bella Besties  Ombre/Heart.  I made sure that the patterns changed  so that there is interest in the background.

Since the design is pretty simple, I chose to add texture to the hearts.  For this, I used a paper piercing tool to create a stitching guide (poked holes around the outter perimeter of the shapes), then hand stitched each heart with matching embroidery floss.

 

Once all the hearts were stitched, I placed them on the cardstock in a rainbow order.  A bit of foam adhesive helps to create dimension on the hearts and also gives movement to the layout.  I did not want to overcrowd the hearts with decorations; so, I used stickers and ephemera words from Mom Life, Home Sweet Home, and Fa La La collection, and  tried to place them following the color of the hearts.

I kept the layers behind the picture fairly simple and added a few pieces of paper from Squeeze the Day collection.   I continued adding just simple word stickers and embellishments to finish the page.

 

I kept the title pretty simple so that it will not take away from the rainbow hearts.  I mixed an acrylic word, with Florence Alpha stickers, and Alpha Stickers from Monsters and Friends Doohickey sticker.  I added a few Matte Enamel Dots from different collections to match the hearts and called it done!

 

 

I love how this page turned out, and I hope this week has given you ideas on how to use Bella Besties to document your beloved memories!

Bella Besties + Cut Files Day 1 | Patricia

Hello Bella Blvd Friends and welcome to Day 1 of Bella Besties + Cut Files!  I combined the Flower Scatter and the Flamingos by placing the Flamingos in the center and then duplicated and positioned as many Flowers around them.  I drew a heart to cut out this as one solid piece.  When I think hearts, I can't help but think of flowers as well as these Flamingos.  Note:  the Flamingos have layers of cut files over them.  I removed all of them and just used the bottom/base cut file.

For the Flamingos, I wanted a great mix of colors to show through them, so I used the floral side of Mom Life My Tribe pattern paper.  For the flowers I used the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre in Ice, Bell Pepper, Gulf, Pickle Juice, Guacomole, Orange, and Cotton Candy.  I wanted to keep the flowers light in color, so I chose lighter colors from the heart side, as well as the ombre side with just a pop of the greens and pinks for contrast.  What I love about this pattern paper is there is white.  I added that to groups of the flowers to just have a slight tone on tone showing through the cut file.  Then I used die cuts from Home Sweet Home to tuck more flowers under the heart, and foam adhered the word love.

I knew I wanted to use the Heart Hugs in white as the added feathers to the Flamingos.  Both great dimension and use of those wonderful hearts!  It is also repeating my title of Love Love Love.

I tucked pieces of pattern paper in Home Sweet Home All My Love and Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre Pickle Juice with Ombre side, as well as a sticker from the pink scalloped hearts border sticker from Home Sweet Home.  I continued that large layered look on this right side using the same papers and stickers as well as where my photo and journaling will be.  I even used a piece of the Pickle Juice I had cut On the Vines cut file from for a previous project.  It went with the hearts and flowers I have on the left and also created movement for the hearts.

Continuing with the hearts theme, I added several of the Home Sweet Home heart die cuts, foam adhering a few of them.  And used one of the die cut labels for my journaling.  To finish, I just added some of the Blueberry mix Hearts to balance the dark blue flower on the left side, and for extra softness and texture, I added twine.

Grab some cut files that center around love and hearts to form one large cut file as I did, and then combine it with stickers, pattern paper, and die cuts to create your heart themed project!

November Mood Board Day5 | Maryám

Hey there Bella friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be back here at the Bella BLVD blog today with a new project inspired by the November 2020 Mood Board.

First of all, let's start by taking a look at this month's mood board.

This month is all about Fall! And one of the images that really inspired me to create my layout was the second image on the top row. I really liked the look of those hand-made feathers were hanging from a branch, so I decided to recreate the same look for my layout but using leaves instead.

To create my layout, I started out by cutting about 12 leaves with the help of my Silhouette Cameo. The cut file I used is 302421 Leaves Cut Files, which you’ve probably seen already because is actually one of my favorite cut files from Bella, and the papers are from the Hearts & Ombré collection. The colors I used are- Cotton Candy, McIntosh, Orange, Bell Pepper, Pickle Juice, and Gulf; and for the veins, I used a brown textured cardstock from my stash.

After I cut all the leaves, I used some liquid adhesive to put all the pieces together. Next up, I cut a tree branch from the same cardstock I used for the leaf veins and adhered to the page using some foam dots.

Following up, I tied some embroidery thread strips to the tree branch and then grabbed the leaves and tried different placements until I decided on one. To adhere the leaves in place, I used some foam dots, and to embellish the whole page a little bit more, I added some Enamel Dots and a few Trinkets Puffy Stickers in coordinating colors here and there.

Last, but not least, I added my title, for which I used the super awesome Aria Alphabet Puffy Stickers in black.

November Mood Board Day 4 | Brianna Lepper

Hey crafty friends! Brianna Lepper here with a new mood board inspired layout. I absolutely love this months mood board with its beautiful colors, textures and patterns.  I mean who doesn't love Fall themed mood boards?

 

 

I knew right away that I would have leaves on my layout and really liked the composition of the leaves in the bottom left square of the board.  The gold dipped leaves in the top middle square also gave me an idea to heat emboss on some of my leaves.  Here's what I came up with!

 

 

For my leaves, I used the Fall Leaves cut file in Silhouette Design Store.  In my Silhouette Software, I arranged them in a variety of sizes and cut them using the Ombre sides of the new Bella Besties Hearts and Ombre papers.  I made sure to cut them on the lighter areas of the paper to keep with the some the softness of the mood board.  I used the colors in Blueberry, Bell Pepper, Peep, Pony and Guacamole.  Once they were all cut, I gently pressed them onto my Versamark Ink pad and sprinkled gold glittery embossing powder on them.  I then hit each leaf with my heat gun to melt the powder.  Each leaf is so sparkly and pretty!!

 

 

Once I was finished embossing the leaves, I arranged them in the same design as the bottom left square and adhered them down to a piece of the Scallop Plaids and Dotty patterned paper that also matches the mood board!

 

 

For my title, I used an acrylic word from the Embrace Today pack and added to it using the Florence Alphas in Oyster.  I had taken this photo of my son while we were at California Adventure and he was just in awe of everything around him.  Then I pulled some of the Epoxy Hearts from the Chloe collection and created a few clusters with them.  I also added a few of the White Trinkets Puffy Stickers around the page.  Next, I layered a few scraps from the Hearts and Ombre papers under my photo and added a white Cute Clip in the right corner.  I felt like it needed more embellishing so I used a few clouds from the Home Sweet Home Ciao Chip stickers. I also added a cute Ciao Chip Cat from the Chloe collection.  It looks like Noah is looking at him and who doesn't want a cute kitty on their page!?

 

 

To give the leaves on my page even more interest, I adhered a few of the Give Thanks Heart Hugs and added a sticker from the Word Salad Booklet.  I also rubbed a bit of Gold Heidi Shine to the hearts to make them sparkle.

Mood Board Week Day 1: A Cheesy Smile Layout with Traci

Hi Bella friends!  I'm back to share a really fun layout with all of you today.  I think the ages between 2 and 4 are so much fun.  Kids this age just crack me up with the things they say, the cute ways the interact, and their adorable facial expressions.  Like this one of my granddaughter!  Such a smile!!  I just couldn't wait to create a page with these pictures.  I got my inspiration from this month's mood board ... 

 

I played off several things from this mood board.  First the colors!  I think this pattern from the Illustrated Faith collection is the perfect backdrop for the rest of my payout.  (Sorry my white base is a little wonky ... I must need new contacts)!

 

 

I was also inspired by the stack of sweaters so I used the stacked pattern across the top of the page.

The Smile title came from the Happiness Cut-Outs.  If you haven't tried these yet, they are super easy and make a really fun impact on your projects.  I backed this one with lots of new Ombre paper and used the Aria alpha stickers for the rest of my title.

 

To finish up my page, I added some hearts and banners from the Home Sweet Home collection, some random stickers, and a cute band of washi tape across the bottom.  I love this page ... mainly because of that cute 3 year old and her cheesy smile ;) , but also because of the colors and fun title.  I hope you love it too, and that this month's mood board inspires you for your next project!

World Card Making Day | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing two cards that I created using some of the new Bella Besties products mixed in with some older Bella Besties products.  They all match so nicely together so let's mix it up!  Here are the cards that I made, I hope you like them!

 

I had so much fun creating these two cards.  I love how Bella Blvd uses the same colors in all of their collections so that you can mix and match and everything coordinates together.  When I first saw the new Hearts & Ombre patterned papers, I immediately fell in love and knew that they would look perfect with the Freehand Dot & Graph patterned papers.  And, boy was I right!!  Let's get into my first card: 

 

 

Pink is one of my favorite colors and I was so excited to get to use the Hearts & Ombre paper in Cotton Candy for this card!  Paired with the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Punch as my base, it looks so pretty!  I wanted to create a fun girl birthday card to keep on hand so I pulled out the Wish Big Girl collection and used the adorable hippo chipboard sticker as the main focal point of my card.  

 

 

I created a tag using a piece of the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Cotton Candy and tied on a piece of white pom pom trim.  To give my card even more interest, I stitched around a few of the layers.  

 

I created my own sentiment using the Aria Puffy Alpha stickers in Gulf and added a few hearts from the new Trinkets Puffy Stickers.  They're a perfect finishing touch to any project and I love them!!  Such a simple and fun card to make!

 

 

My next card is a fun sequin shaker card that I made using the Hearts & Ombre patterned paper in Ice as the frame and the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Bell Pepper as my base. 

 

 

I thought it would be fun to create a scene on the inside of my shaker using the Home Sweet Home collection.  I created a little hill using the Freehand Graph & Dot paper in Pickle Juice and fussy cut some clouds from the White paper.  I added a house chipboard sticker and a tree from the ephemera icons.  Next, I took a text sticker from the Word Salad Booklet and adhered it right onto the hill.  To complete my scene, I added some of the White Trinket Puffy stickers!

 

 

To create the window of my shaker, I glued a piece of acetate to the frame I created and stuck down some foam tape around the border.  Then, I added some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins from my stash and sealed everything up.

 

 

For my sentiment, I used the Aria Puffy Alphas in Bell Pepper and spelled out 'Congrats'.  I plan on using this card as closing gift for my clients.  Who doesn't love receiving a handmade card?!  Especially one that shakes!
