4th of July using Fireworks and Freedom

Hello, fellow scrapbookers! Today, I’m excited to share how I created a vibrant 12x12 scrapbook page to capture the memories of our 4th of July celebration, using Bella Blvd's Fireworks and Freedom collection. This collection is perfect for adding a splash of color to any patriotic page!

I started with an oversized photo as the centerpiece of my layout. My scrappy friend Wendy, who makes the most beautiful quilts, inspired me to create a paper quilt around the photo. I used Bella Besties paper in red, cutting out tiny quilting diamonds and alternating their patterns to make a dynamic and eye-catching background.

Next, I added some fun borders from the Doohickeys sticker sheet along the edges of the page. These little details help frame the layout and add an extra layer of interest.

No good scrapbooking page is complete without a pun! For my title, I used the chipboard word "parade" and combined it with "freedom," which I cut up to spell "don't." So, my title reads "parade don't," which takes me back to the funny moment when our dogs tried to hide under my shirt to escape the fireworks. It’s a playful way to remember that day.

To finish off the page, I cut several chipboard stars in half and placed them along the bottom to support my journaling. I also added stars on either side of the title, creating a spark-tastic effect that ties everything together.

Stars and Stripes Week Day 2 | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper back with you today sharing a super festive July 4th layout using the Fireworks & Freedom  collection!  I also paired it with the Time For Fireworks Bella Blvd cut file.  Did you know that Bella is always releasing new cut files?  Make sure to visit the Bella Blvd section here to view all of them!  Let's get to my layout, I had soooo much fun creating this page.  I love this collection and who doesn't love documenting such a great holiday!  

 

 

To start, I cut the cut file out on white textured cardstock.  While I was still in my Silhouette software, I went ahead and offset the backing pieces to the letters and cut them out using the Love The USA, Daily Details and Borders 12x12 patterned papers.  This made backing the cut file so much easier for me in the end.  

 

 

I wanted to create some stripes for my background and for the cut file to sit on, so I cut 2" strips out of the Land That I Love, Patriotic, Truck Parade and Love The USA 12x12 patterned papers, roughed up the edges and adhered them down.   I then popped the entire cut file up on foam tape and adhered it right to the middle of my page.  

 

 

The cut file had the perfect place for me to set my photo into and I ended up tucking it right in that empty space!  But first, I matted it using some scraps and then added my journaling to one of the ephemera word bubble pieces and tucked it right under my photo layers.  Next, I added a Ciao Chip sticker and one of the Epoxy Icons stickers to the corner of my photo.  

 

There is this super cute American Flag heart on the Daily Details cut apart sheet, so I fussy cut it out and used it as an embellishment.  I popped it up on some foam tape, added some red and white tangled thread and found the cutest red truck ephemera piece to adhere down next to it.  

 

 

I felt like the bottom right of the page needed a little something, so I adhered one of the firework ephemera pieces down and layered a chipboard star right on top.  To add a circular element, I pulled in one of the epoxy stickers and finished that cluster off with some blue tangled thread.  Super simple!

 

 

To finish off my layout, I added one more firework ephemera piece to the top left of the cut file and then got out my Trinkets Puffy Stickers in McIntosh and scattered some of the stars around the clusters.  

 

 

This layout is super patriotic and so fun and totally matches my boys shirts in the photo.  I had a lot of fun creating it and hope that you like it!  Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I've inspired you in some way!  I'll see you in my next post friends!

Spring Week Day 6 | Nathalie

Hi there Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to continue sharing more Spring inspiration using the beautiful Bella Blvd products.   Unfortunately, we are in lockdown here in Toronto, Canada which means we are not able to fully enjoy our Spring, instead, I am dipping into past memories to relive those glorious days.   I just love when you find the perfect photo and have an idea in mind...

 

 

As soon as I saw the new Spring Break cut file, I rapidly formed this layout in my head... It all started by copying and welding the cut file 4 times to create the cut out for my page from white cardstock.  I cut it twice, glued the cut outs together, and then backed the empty word with papers from  Home Sweet Home and Chloe collections.

 

 

I trimmed a paper from the Fireworks and Freedom collection  to about 11.5"x11.25" and framed it with Bella Besties Dot/Graph in blueberry.  Using a bit of foam adhesive, I attached the cut out to the background right at the center line of the page.

 

When I copied the cut file, I made sure to leave spaces for my photos.  So, after framing them with a paper from Home Sweet Home, I glued them to the top right and bottom left corners of the cut out.

 

 

I used ephemera pieces, chipboard stickers and fussy cut flowers and butterflies all from Home Sweet Home to create  two large clusters, one for each photo.  Then scattered some of the small flowers around the cut out.

 

 

All that was left to do was add my lines of journal and enamel dots for the "i"s.   I love how this turned out. All the colors and flowers bring a sense of the outdoors -in all its glory- to my page.

Labor Day Layout - Tegan Skwiat

Hi everyone, Tegan here. Happy Labor Day to anyone joining me from the United States! The September Bella Blvd Mood Board also comes out today, so I definitely had to use it as inspiration for today's layout. I always love working with the mood boards because they are such an amazing starting point for scrappy ideas. Check it out - isn't it awesome?!

I used the Fireworks and Freedom collection because most of our Labor Day celebrations are focused around the red, white, and blue theme. I didn't pull the colors from the mood board, but that's ok! I used a couple of the design ideas from the board and I absolutely love how they came together on my page!

I was inspired by the cool large title square to create this large title over Fireworks and Freedom Patterned Paper. I used the Florence Alphabet Cut File and I hope you love how it turned out as much as I do. I usually just head straight for a title made out of patterned paper, but I love mixing it up with the pattern in the background and the title more of a solid print.

I love all of the Fireworks and Freedom chipboard and ephemera pieces. How cool is that old pickup truck chipboard piece?! 

I used the large freeform lines as inspiration for my main page design. All I did was hand draw the lines myself on an extra piece of 12" x 12" cardstock in pencil before I hand cut them out. I was nervous at first, but I am in love with the way it turned out. I can't wait to try this design on another layout!

Flower Jar Card Tutorial | Traci

Happy Thursday friends!  Today seemed like a fun day for a tutorial, so I wanted to share how I used a pretty Bella cutting file to create a really fun card.

First, you can find this cutting file in Lori Whitlock's SVG shop here: Fireworks & Freedom Flower Jar or in the Silhouette Design Store. 

 

Steps for creating this card in Silhouette Studio:

 

1.  Create an offset of the design and then highlight and right click to release compound path. This will separate all of those tiny little cuts in the middle of the offset so that you can delete them.

2.  Next, create an offset of the jar portion of the design and overlap the two offsets slightly so that you can weld them together.

3. Once you've welded the shapes together, cut the piece out of white card stock for the base of your card.

 

4. Cut out the layering stems, jar, and flowers.  I used Bella Besties and patterns from the Fireworks and Freedom collection.  To adhere the thin green stems, I used a Zig Squeeze and Roll glue pen to apply tiny dots of adhesive.

I also used tweezers to help adhere the stems in place. 

5. Once I had each of the pieces adhered to the front, I had some fun with embellishments.  I used matte enamel dots from the Chloe collection, an enamel heart from the Cooper collection, an adorable bow clip (minus the clip) and two white flowers from the Doghouse BellaPop.

Although it's hard to see in the photo, I also covered the jar portion of the card front with glossy accents to give it the look of glass!

JULY MOOD BOARD Inspiration with Nathalie

Hello there!

Nathalie with you today with one more project inspired by this month's Mood Board.   July is here, and the colors and feel of the squares in the board are just so Summery that it was so easy to put a project together.  Let me show you the Inspirational board:

All the water feel, the stripes, the waves and the bright colors were the inspiration for this page all about one of my Goddaughters love for water:

 

Don't you just love all the colors and texture on the page.  This layout came together rather easily using a combination of papers from various Bella Blvd collections.

I started with a piece of left over Truck Parade paper (NSD layout) from the Fireworks and Freedom collection over white cardstock as the base for the page.  This already brings the watercolor to the page, and follows the tile design in the pictures.   I love the stripes in the bottom square of the board, so i cut strips of papers from Bella Besties, Splash Zone and Plaids & Dotty collections to bring some of the colors to the page.  I glued them to the top of the background, and then hand stitched the wave pattern on each stripe.

 

 

I pulled the pictures of my Goddaughter and backed them with papers from the Splash Zone collection.  A bit of foam adhesive help to make them pop from teh page.   I pulled embellishments from the Splash Zone collection to create the clusters at the corners of the pictures.

 

To create the title, i used the large chipboard waves (Splash Zone collection) to bring the wave element from the board to the page, then used the Florence Alphabet stickers to complete the title work.  A few drops of shimmer  and white  ink, and a few lines of journal under the pictures complete the page.

 

 

I love how this page came together rather easily by using a few of the images of the Mood Board as inspiration. Cannot wait to see what you create using this moodboard.  Remember to share with us what you create, we love being inspired by you all!

July Mood Board | Traveler's Notebook | Patricia

Summer is in full swing in our part of the world and even though work and adulting goes on, we all have to sneak away, soak up the sun, and just relax.  The July Mood board is so me for two reasons:  I love Summer, and I love these colors!  Perfect inspiration as always for creating with the gorgeous Bella Blvd.  Today, I will walk you through how I was inspired to create in my Traveler's Notebook.

The clean geometric shapes, color, summer feel, and the clean crispness of white, red, blue, and pops of yellow were what caught my eye. Starting with the geometric and repeating patterns, I choose Splash Zone pattern papers in two shades of blue to cut the Bella Blvd Silhouette Cut File called Waves.  Next, I used a leftover piece of cardstock with several clouds cut out from it, and used it as a stencil to lightly blend blue ink for the sky.  

For the bottom, I used the same light blue ink and then a darker shade closer to the photo, just enough to give the bottom color.  I did this for both sides.  After choosing my photo, I couldn't help but think of the song "Watermelon Sugar High."  So I used a combination of the Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers, Florence Alphabet Stickers, the Splash Zone chipboard pieces, and a watermelon die cut from the Fireworks & Freedom collection to build my title layered over the Fireworks & Freedom sticker and Designer Washi Tape.  I then tucked another Splash Zone die cut under to add my date.

I adhered the cut waves to the bottom, and then foam adhered some for added dimension.  I kept the waves tighter 3/4" way up, and looser at the bottom for a unique design.  Before adhering, I sent both sides through my typewriter to add my journaling.  I finished the left side with more Splash Zone chipboard and die cuts, and a heart sticker from Fireworks & Freedom.  Once my initial blue and red inspired from the Mood Board were picked, selecting the Splash Zone pieces with the yellow and orange helped break it up and add that pop of brightness like the Mood Board.

For the right side, I printed a square photo and then trimmed the red pattern paper from the Fireworks & Freedom collection to bring out more red, then clustered more Splash Zone die cuts.  The cloud die cut goes with my overall theme, and the blue and white horizontal lines goes with the clean look from the Mood Board.  I add that pop of the yellow from another Splash Zone Die cut to the top and bottom of my photo.  I finished this with Puffy Heart Stickers in Blueberry Mix.

Hey friends! Erica here with you today sharing a fun layout using the Fireworks and Freedom collection from Bella Blvd. I wanted to create a large star on my page using different strips of pattern paper from the collection. I trimmed up a bunch of the 12x12 papers and distressed the edges to add some texture. 

To create the large star I used my Silhouette Software and cut it out on some white cardstock. I added tape runner all over the star and then added the strips of pattern paper to the star until it was completely covered. I trimmed off all the pieces that were hanging off and love how it came it! This is a great way to showcase the different pattern papers. If you do not have a digital cutting machine you can always print out a large star using your home printer. Cut out the star and add your strips of paper to that. Super simple and you can do this with other shapes as well.

Once my star was completed I added foam adhesive to the back and adhered down to a trimmed down piece of white textured cardstock. I matted it on a 12x12 piece of pattern paper from the Fireworks and Freedom collection. This layout will be great to display this month either on one of my Doodlebug Design Clipart clipboards of some Foundations Decor Click Sticks! Displaying your seasonal layouts is a great way to share them in your home for others to see besides in your albums! 

I added a couple firework die cuts around my photo. One of the fireworks I cut in half so it is going out on the left and right side of the photos! Cutting your die cuts like this helps stretch them out on your page. I created a small cluster of embellishments at the top of my photos using the ephemera icons and chipboard from the Fireworks and Freedom collection. Here is a look at my completed layout.

Since the 4th of July is right around the corner, I pulled out the adorable Fireworks & Freedom collection! I love this collection's patriotic mix of colors and the star and fireworks graphics. It was perfect for documenting this photo of my nieces wearing their favorite red, white, and blue shirts. Come take a look!

I used the super fun Bella Blvd Firework Cut File and some Fireworks & Freedom patterned papers to create my own little fireworks display down the side of the page. I embellished some of them with chipboard pieces. I love how the chipboard pops!

Eeek! Aren't these fireworks displays just so much fun?! I embellished them with chipboard pieces, ephemera pieces, and puffy stars. I love the dimension the embellishments add on top of the die cut fireworks displays!

I anchored my photo spot with various patterned papers from the collection. I then embellished my photo with the glass jar ephemera piece, Doohickey Stickers, and chipboard pieces. How cool is that large floral patterned chipboard 'freedom' title?!

Memorial Day Acrylic Mini Album | Traci

It's Memorial Day!  A very important holiday here in America, when we remember and honor the men and women who've given the ultimate sacrifice for their country, while serving in the US Military.  Many of us observe this holiday by visiting memorials, spending time with family, attending parades and going to picnics.  In honor of the holiday, I created an acrylic mini album for saving memories from this day, showing off all the red, white, and blue of the Fireworks and Freedom collection!

For this mini, I used an acrylic album from Clear Scraps, and added paper and embellishments so that each page appeared to be layered on the next. 

That cute blue star in the corner is an acrylic shape from the Patriotic Stars set, and I love how the Doohickey stickers from the collection fit perfectly on the page tabs.

 

Since some of the layered details are hard to see, I created a quick flip through video for you!

Hello Bella Blvd friends! Happy National Scrapbooking Day to you all!  It is nice to have a day to celebrate this beautiful hobby even amidst this unprecedented time.   I hope you all are enjoying all the projects we have prepared for you.  One of the reasons i am drawn to scrapbooking is the need to tie my daily stories to pictures and feelings.  I keep a daily journal routine, and use a lot of the stories to create keepsakes for my family.  Here is one of the entries in my family album ( COVID documenting/gratitude journal).

 

I wanted something really colorful to lighten up the feeling of the page, so i pulled the Truck Parade paper from the Fireworks and Freedom collection to use as the background for my layout. 

 

Unfortunately this was supposed to be my daughter's last year of High School, and since the pandemic was declared, she has seen all the milestone slowly disappear.  We always talk about God, his blessing and finding rainbows after the storm. So, i decided to give this page a shower of rainbows.  For this, I used the Rainy Clouds  cut file to cut all the clouds and raindrops from Bellas Besties papers.  Once i glued them on the page,  i used a white gel pen to add the small white lines that give a more 3-d look to each piece.

 

I am a journaler above all, so i decided to write all about our conversation and printed this on vellum.  I cut the journal to fit within the page, then added the picture of my daughter and a few embellishments from the Mom Life, Splash Zone and Wish Big collection.

 

 

The last thing i added was a title to the page.  For this i mixed alphas from the Florence Alpha Stickers in Black, Oyster and White; then added a simple phrase sticker from the Word Salad sticker tablet - Legacy collection-.
