She She | My Candy Girl & Bella Besties | Niki Rowland with Process Video

Hey everyone, Niki here today and I have another layout and process video to share for Bella Blvd. My assignment today was to use the new collection My Candy Girl and mix it with Bella Besties.

I really loved the chevron paper from the My Candy Girl collection and was totally inspired to use this colour scheme today. It contains light pink, turquoise and teal, which in Bella Blvd colours translate to Cotton Candy, Ice & Gulf. So I pulled out three sheets of the Hearts & Ombre paper in those colours and set about making a grid design on a white background.

 

I started off cutting a strip of Cotton Candy which I trimmed into four squares. I distressed the edges of each and placed them on the layout. I did the same with the chevron paper. I carried on with the Ice and Gulf papers too. The Cotton Candy and Gulf squares were placed heart side up whilst the Ice paper was placed ombre side up. This was so I had a mix of patterns on my little squares.

I machine stitched around a few of the squares and I also popped some up on foam pads.

I then added my photo together with a cluster of embellishments on the right side of the layout. I used lots of chipboard and ephemera from the My Candy Girl collection. I was careful to only use the colours in my colour scheme. I had an area of empty space on my photo so I added my title using Florence Alphabet stickers in Ice colour to this part of the photo. My little boy who is 2 and my daughter who is 10 are really the best of friends – he adores her and this photo is of them walking home after school pick up, him in the stroller and her walking beside him, and they are holding hands. This melts my heart! He can’t say her same Sophie properly yet, and calls her ‘She She’ instead which is completely adorable and I’m really pleased to have finally documented this story on this layout.

I decided my squares needed a little something extra so punch hearts using a heart punch out of the same papers for each row. I punched two hearts per square and layered them up. I stuck the together, fanned up the sides and also stitched through them on my sewing machine.

I finished off with puffy stickers from the Trinkets sets and also added some enamel hearts and some splatters of white paint. Here's another look at the finished layout:

Let's Scrapbook: Father Day Fun

 

Happy hello Bella friends... Annette Allen here with you today and I am sharing a little Father's Day inspiration using the new Let's Scrapbook collection. Father's day is this Sunday, so you still have a couple of days to get out our crafty supplies and create something special. 

 

 

Create a card on white cardstock A2 size. 

 

Cut a piece of the Let's Scrapbook Photo Taker A2 size and adhere to your card panel using liquid glue.

 

Die cut a decorative frame on the Let's Scrapbook Paper Party backer and set aside. 

 

Cut a panel on white cardstock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 and die cut or machine cut Love You Dad in the center, but make sure your frame will fit around the sentiment without hiding it. 

 

 

Adhere your frame around the sentiment. 

 

Flip over your panel and add foam tape to the back and adhere to your card. 

 

 

Add one of those awesome Let's Scrapbook Puffy Stickers camera to the center of the O on the You. 

 

I also added a couple of the Trinkets Puffy Stickers (Blueberry) hearts to the sentiment to finish. 

 

 

Don't you just love how the designer paper shows through the sentiment? 

 

 

The theme today is Father's day but we are also enjoying all those cool cameras from the Let's Scrapbook collection. Father's day is a camera kind of day. Memories are always good. 

 

 

Create card from white cardstock A2 size.

 

Cut 4 strips measuring 3/4 inch of of the Let's Scrapbook Paper Party backer and Photo Taker backer (2 of each). Adhere these strips to the card base using liquid glue.  

 

Cut 3 strips measuring 1 inch of the Photo Taker paper. Make sure you get a full line of the camera when cutting. Add some foam tape to the back of the strips and adhere them to your card. As you can see I have lined them up between each of the seams. 

 

 

Machine or die cut a 3 inch circle on the Let's Scrapbook Clear Cuts Be Happy. 

 

Peel and stick the DAD Pennants (Family 2) frag to the acetate on the left side of the circle at an angle. 

 

Pick out the Heart from the Let's Scrapbook Ephemera Words and add some foam tape to the back and adhere to the circle on the upper right hand side of the circle. 

 

Finishing with one of those fun cameras from the Let's Scrapbook Puffy Stickers. 

 

Flip over your circle and add foam tape to the back, but only on the parts that it will not be seen on the front and adhere to the card.

To The Moon Collection Week Day 1 | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout using the super awesome To The Moon collection.  While going through some older photos, I found the perfect ones to match this collection.  The photos are of my boys riding a little spaceship ride at a kids fair we went to.  Here's my layout, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post to see how it came together! 

 

I really wanted to add a lot of different patterned papers to my page so I decided to use several different star punches from my stash.  The star shape really goes well with this collection too.  After I punched all of my stars, I put them aside and created a subtle mixed media background.  I pulled out my Shimmerz Paints sprays in yellow and orange and painted a thick, wavy line.  I planned on layering my stars right on top and thought that the yellow and orange colors would really make my stars pop.  

 

I also added some silver Stickles around the perimeter of all of my punched stars.  I just love that extra added sparkle!

 

I used the Ciao Chip Chipboard stickers to create my title and also added onto it with some Florence Alphas in Orange.

 

I pulled in some of the stars from that chipboard sticker sheet and also pulled in some ephemera pieces as well.  

 

I thought that the orange section needed a little something extra so I added in one of the Pennants from the Boy pack.  I also added in a few clusters of tangled thread and finished it off with some of the Epoxy stickers.

My Candy Girl Week Day 4 | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Erica on the blog with you today sharing a 12x12 scrapbook layout using the My Candy Girl collection! 

I started out by creating a large sequin element for the center of page and used some sequins from Catherine Pooler Designs! I backed the large sequin shaker with one of the papers from the My Candy Girl collection and adhered it down to the center of my page. 

The photos I am using on this layout are of our niece Jenesis! I adhered the photos to the right of the large shaker element. 

I created a fun cluster of flowers using die cuts and puffy stickers from the My Candy Girl collection. I also created a second cluster on the sequin shaker on the opposite side. 

I thought this super cute felt pennant would be perfect to add this layout! I sprinkled some of the Sugar Coating Puffy Stickers around the page and then sprinkled the clusters with some white acrylic paint. 

To finish off my page I added a couple border stickers to the top and bottom of my page!

To The Moon Week Day 1 | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper back with you today sharing a new layout using the To The Moon collection!  We are also using the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre papers and making our projects love themed.  Here's my layout and don't forget to watch my process video that's at the end of this post: 

 

 

I wanted to use a cut file since it's been a while since I used one and I love putting them on my layouts.  I wanted one that would both match the collection and be somewhat love themed as well.  The You Color My World cut file was perfect!  And I even turned mine into a shaker using a bunch of tiny star sequins.  

 

 

I decided to use white textured cardstock as my base but also wanted to add a lot of the Hearts & Ombre papers.  So I tore into the McIntosh, Blueberry, Ice and Orange papers and layered them on top of each other making sure that some of each color was showing.  I adhered everything down and then realized that the "You Color" portion of my cut file needed to pop a bit more, so I ink blended some Distress Oxide ink in Mustard Seed on and I love how it turned out.  

 

 

Next, I matted my photo using a couple of the patterned papers from the collection and started to embellish around my page.  I pulled in some of the Ephemera and also added in some of the Doohickey Cardstock Stickers from the collection.  I also added in a couple of Heart Hugs and some hearts from the White and Blueberry Trinket Puffy Stickers sheets.

 

 

I thought it would be neat to add in one of the cute felt Boy Pennants to the left of my cut file, so I adhered one of those down.  For some finishing touches, I added in some tangled thread and some ink splatters using that same Distress Oxide ink that I used to color up my cut file.

Father's Day Week Day 4 | Sarah

Happy Thursday to all you Bella fans! Father's Day is almost here, and so I wanted to create a layout featuring none other than my own father, and my children's grandfather.

The To the Moon collection was my go to for this layout, and I wanted to incorporate some Bella Bestie goodness too. Here's what I came up with:

For my background paper, I used one from the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre collection. I love that this collection pack comes with a variety of colors - one side is hearts and the other side is ombre. They make for great backgrounds.

I wanted to use a couple of photos for this layout, so I placed them below the Clear Cuts Blueberry Chevies sheet. I love that it coordinates perfectly with the To the Moon collection. Also, do you spy some Heart Hugs?! These ones also work so well with this collection! This is one of the reasons I love Bella Blvd collection - so many of the collections and embellishments go so well together!

And I'm sure you know by now I'm a fan of using the Florence alphabet stickers, so I added it to my title! I also added some letters from the Doohickey sheet to add the word "dad" and "2020".

The puffy stickers are great too! They helped embellish and add to the overall look of my layout. When in doubt, add more fun little puffy stickers, hehe. In the below photo, you'll see that I added them off to the side of my embellishment clusters.

Also, let's talk about these To the Moon pennants! Aren't they adorable?! I love the felt look, and can you believe they have adhesive backs. Super easy to use!

My Candy Girl & Bella Besties Week Day 3 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new day of MY CANDY GIRL & BELLA BESTIES week.  Nathalie with you today to share some inspiration using this amazing combination of collections.   I just love the colors of the collection; so, my project is just an ode to the color palette, and that awesome cupcake cart ephemera!

 

 

I started the page with the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre ICE paper for the base.  I had a series of photos of my little one ( Goddaughter) with a new cupcake cart toy ( this was a present from us after finishing her first school year).   My choice was to keep the pictures as a film strip and just play with color around it

 

 

I used a few of My Candy GIrl patterned paper to create a few layers of paper behind the picture ( I am using lots of red and pink to contrast with the blue background).  I fussy cut a few donut images from the NOT SHARING paper.  I mixed these with ephemera icons and stickers to create a cluster at the top left corner of the pictures ( the Bella bows are perfect to add texture and a finishing touch to tags).

 

 

I pulled the Girl Pennant set, to bring more of the felt texture to the page.  This time, I colored the small wood sticks with white acrylic paint, then glued them to the bottom right of the photo strip.  The small bow ephemera is just perfect to keep these together.

 

 

Once, I set the picture on the  background, I added the scalloped edge chipboard, as well as one of the border stickers from the Doohickey stickers to anchor my page.   I used the top line of  the piece to add my title -a combination of stickers and chipboard stickers).  I added a bit of foam adhesive behind the cupcake cart ephemera and capped my title with it!  A few more of the fussy cut donut images, complete this page!

 

 

I love how this turned out!  Lots of color to celebrate my little one.  Make sure you check the collections, you are going to love all you can create with them!

My Candy Girl Week Day 5 | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today and I am super excited to share this new layout with y'all!!  The brand new My Candy Girl collection is AH-MAZING and I had so much fun creating with it!  I paired it with the new "Hello Sweetheart" cut file.  You can find all of the Bella Blvd cut files in the Silhouette Design Store here.  They are always adding new ones so make sure to keep an eye out for them!  Let's get to my layout!

 

 

I was super inspired by Emilie Chamel and one of her recent layouts where she took a similar striped patterned paper and trimmed it down, roughed up the edges and used it as her base.  So when I saw the "B" side of the Bubble Beauty 12x12 patterned paper, I thought I would give that same technique a try.  And wow, do I love the end result!!  I adhered all of the distressed pieces to some textured white cardstock and ran it through my sewing machine using matching thread for each color.  The texture and dimension just makes me so happy!

 

 

Next, I cut the Hello Sweetheart cut file out on another piece of textured white cardstock and backed the letters using the patterned papers from the collection.  I popped the whole thing up on foam and adhered it to the striped piece I was previously working on.  I then matted my photo with a few other patterned papers and tucked it into the cut file.  

 

 

I went through the Ephemera pieces and pulled out an adorable bear, a banner and some other pieces to embellish with.  I added the banner piece right on top of the cut file and created other embellishment clusters around the rest of my layout.  I popped a few pieces up on foam and even used some Florence Alphas in Peep to add a cute little subtitle with one of the Ephemera Words.  

 

 

I love adding the smaller details towards the end of my process so I pulled out the new Puffy Stickers in Sugar Coating and the adorable Epoxy Sprinkles mix.  I added those into my clusters and I just love the extra pops of color it gives each one!  

 

 

I just love how fun and cheerful this layout turned out!

Cut Outs Week - Tegan

Hi, is everyone enjoying Cut-Outs Week?! I sure know I am!

I love that Bella Blvd offers the Cut-Outs. Sure, I love cutting out words and images using my electronic die cut machine, but sometimes I just don't have the time. Or sometimes (welp!) my machine just isn't working correctly for some reason. The Cut Outs are also great for taking to crops! On today's layout I used the Love You Lots Cut-Out with the Squeeze the Day and Home Sweet Home collections. Come take a look! 

I first backed the Cut-Out with some fun papers from the Squeeze the Day and Home Sweet Home Collections. On the first heart here, I then hand cut out a smaller heart using the Hearts & Ombre Patterned Paper in Plum. I then layered the middle of this heart with a green Heart Hug, a Home Sweet Home ephemera piece, and black Puffy Star Stickers. I love all of the dimension! 

Here I used the Squeeze the Day Pick You (cherries) and Fruit Salad Patterned Papers to back the letters of the Cut-Out. I then embellished the heart with floral ephemera pieces from the Home Sweet Home Collection. I love that all of the Bella Blvd collections mix and match so effortlessly! 

For this Cut-Out, I again used my favorite Home Sweet Home and Squeeze the Day Patterned Papers . I then hand cut a smaller heart from the Freehand Graph & Dot Patterned Paper in Punch. I again added a yellow Heart Hug, ephemera piece, and Puffy Stars to draw attention to the heart! 

I love using the Hearts & Ombre Patterned Papers as a background... here I used it in Black. I added a strip of black hearts to the top for a little added interest. I love how all of the colors pop against the gray and black! What is your favorite Bella Blvd Cut-Out?! I don't know if I can name just one! 

Fun fact: The Love You Lots Cut-Out comes as one large piece. I cut the 3 words a part and just used 'LOVE' and 'You' on this layout!

Winter Week Day 6 | Patricia

Hello Bella Blvd Friends!  So happy to be here with Dorymar to share how we are using Fa La La and Bella Besties in our Winter themed projects with you today.  I'm using my Traveler's Notebook sized Life Crafted album for this project.  I pulled lots of blues, a little aqua, green, and even lavender to give me the cool Winter colors.  From Fa La La pattern papers I pulled Christmas Village and All I want for Christmas, and from Bella Besties I pulled Blueberry, Ice, Gulf, and Plum.  To create a Winter texture to my background, I used the Geometric Hexagon background cut file from white cardstock.  I focused on backing the background along one row of Hexagons using the pattern papers I selected with an ombre feel, but adding a pop of the green pattern paper in the center of each one.  For my title, I couldn't resist using the Huddle Up cut file to go with our New Year's family walk.  To make my title pop more against the background, I backed it and trimmed it to fit against the Plum Bella Besties Ombre side.

For my journaling, I typed on white cardstock and trimmed it to put at the bottom to flow with the design.  Then to finish this, I continued pulling cool Winter colors from Aria Alphabet Stickers in Blueberry, Florence Alphabet Stickers in Plum, Fa La La Chipboard, Die Cuts and Bella Pops, Snow Designer Washi, Pennants Shapes, and Puffy Star Stickers in Cotton Candy.

Even though it rarely snows and looks more like Fall where I live in the Winter time, you can still create Winter themed projects by pulling cool Winter colors.  Hope you give this a try in your next Winter project!

Cut Outs Week Day 2 | Patricia

Hello Bella Blvd Friends!  Today, I'm using the Over the Rainbow Cut Outs in my Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters Scrapbook.  The pages are about 7.25x9 to give you an idea.  I used the full rainbow, trimming it to go across both pages, and trimming just the tip off to give it more of a 'floating' feel.  Since I'm using the Over the Rainbow Cut Outs, I went with the ombre side of Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre Oyster to really make the rainbow colors pop.  

I printed my photos to about 3x4, then placed under each of the clouds, trimmed and adhered.  I happened upon this selfie of my 12-year old on my phone, and with her almost being a teenager, the rainbow was a perfect to fit to her changing personality.  I backed the rainbow part of the Cut Outs with Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre Pickle Juice, McIntosch, Plum, Ice, Bell Pepper, and Orange.  I filled these areas with coordinating colors from Guacamole DooDads; Florence Alphabet Stickers in McIntosch, Bell Pepper, Ice, and Pickle Juice; Trinkets in Bell Pepper, Blueberry, Plum, McIntosch, and Orange.

The Over the Rainbow Cut Outs comes with a separate row of clouds.  I decided to trim them in half, and tuck them under my Oyster Bella Besties paper on either side for a tone on tone texture to the edges.

To finish, I used the Hotness Acrylic Word, Pennants, and the Trinkets in Black.

Loved using the Cut Outs!  My first time too.  They are so nice to have ready to go, and then gives you so many options to use them.  So try them out as I did here by using photos behind parts of the Cut Outs, fill the rest with Bella Besties and coordinating colors, then use some of the Cut Outs tucked under your background pattern paper for a tone on tone and textured look!  Have fun and hope you share!
