Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 3 | Niki Rowland

Hi everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) and I have a new Spring layout and process video to share today using Bella Besties as well as the Chloe collection.

I started with the Springtime Title cut file available from the Silhouette Design Store. I re-arranged the letters so that ‘Spring’ was all on one line and I added an extra flower. I then cut this from a sheet of white cardstock which left me with a background with letters cut out of it. I backfilled all the letters using Bella Besties, the Freehand Graph & Dot pack. I picked out five colours that went well with the spring theme: Cotton Candy, Bell Pepper, Orange, Pickle Juice and Ice. I backfilled the cut file title with those colours, mixing up the graph sides and dot sides. I even did the tiny bits of the flowers in different colours too and they are all raised on foam pads so there is good depth to the cut file.

I fussy cut lots of hearts from a Chloe paper. I folded each one and added them to places on my layout where there were similar colours. I also arranged five together in a circle shape: with the hearts folded and arranged in this way they look like a flower.

I then went through the Chloe collection and used the Ephemera Icons, specifically the beautiful flowers in this pack. I added these to my layout too all raised on foam pads. I also used some Bella Pops the ‘Cat House’ set. I just used the two clouds from this set at the top of my layout.

I then added lots of Trinkets puffy stickers, again colour-on-colour style. I love these so much, I think they may be my favourite Bella Blvd product! I added the word ‘walk’ to extend my title using Florence alphabet stickers in Bell Pepper.

I finished off by handwriting my journaling and adding a few Matte Enamels also from the Chloe Collection. Here's another look at the finished layout:

Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 3 Collection | Tegan Skwiat

Good day everyone! On today's layout I used the kitty-themed Chloe collection but just pulled out all of the general themed pieces to create a non-themed layout. I also mixed in some of the timeless and fabulous Bella Besties papers and embellishments! 

I usually document all of the fun and good things about life, but the turning of the new year left me reflecting on how 2020 was kind of tough and changed me as a person. It felt SO GOOD to document this part of life as well. I love how this layout turned out!

Here I mixed general papers from the Chloe collection and some of the coordinating Bella Besties Hearts and Ombre patterned papers to create my own fun embellishments using hexagon and star shaped punch tools! I finished off each star with puffy stickers from the Bella Besties Trinkets Puffy Sticker Sheets! I also embellished the around the page with adorable Bella Blvd Heart Hugs, which are 3 dimensional corrugated cardboard stickers. I love the texture they add to my page!

My new favorite alphabet stickers have to be the awesome Aria Puffy Alphabet Stickers! Here I used the Ice and Punch Aria Alphas for the title. I used the Florence Number Stickers to finish off the title with 2021. All of Bella Blvds collections and Bella Besties papers and embellishments mix and match so well, wouldn't you say?!

Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 2 | Maryam

Happy New Year, friends! This is Maryám and I am so excited to be back with a new layout. This week we are focusing on Chloe Collection paired with some Bella Besties, so for today's layout, I'll be using the collection I just mentioned to document a photo of our sweet cat.

To create my layout I started by printing my photos and journaling. From the beginning I knew that I wanted to create a grid design so when I choose the size of my photos I kept that idea in mind. After photos and journaling were printed, I went through the Chloe Ephemera Icons Set and selected some pieces I thought would go well my design but at the same time would help me tell the story I wanted to document.

Once I had all te pieces I needed, I grabbed an 8.5x11" iches white sheet of cardstock and adhered all the elements in place. Since I still have some empty space at the bottom of my journaling, grabbed now the Ephemera Words Set and choose some pieces- one for my title that says "You are one crazy cat!" and then three more to add around the page.

Last but not least, I fussy cut some hearts from the 12x12 Heart Warmer Patterned Paper and adhered them right below the title.

Now, Let's take a look at the final layout!

Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 1 | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd. friends!

Nathalie with you today to share a new project all about our cat-nephew Chico!  I am sure many of you have a furry friend in the family.  We love our little Boston Terrier, Poochie, but my niece adores her little one, a cat named Chico!  Unfortunately, most of us are not cat-people, but this little one has made a dent in our heart.   So, I pulled the Bella Besties Ombre/Hearts and Chloe collection to create this layout:

He is quite cute, in his feline way, and I used two of the latest pictures to create this page that will go in my niece's album.  For this, I started by adding a bit of white paint to the b side of the Cat Crazy paper from the Chloe collection.  This creates a sort of ghosting effect on the page, think of it as a way to softly cover the background.

While the background dried, I used a font from the Silhouette shop to cut the letters of Chico's name using papers from the Chloe and Bella Besties Ombre/Heart collections.  I glued these to white cardstock, and then handstitched the edges.  I simply fussy cut the letters and attached them to the background with a bit of foam adhesive.

I used the left over pieces from the letter cuts to create layers behind the pictures.  I pulled embellishments from the Chloe collection ( stickers, chipboard, ephemera) and created clusters around the page.  I added my lines of journal at the bottom of the page, right below the title work.

Holiday Cards & Gifting Week Day 4 | Nathalie

Hi there Bella Blvd. friends!

Nathalie with you today to share a few ideas on how to create simple and colorful cards in a breeze.   We are all getting everything ready to celebrate Christmas (even when it might be a little be different this year).  For us, it means just the five of us, no extended family at all, but we will be taking the time to drop of presents the day before.   I am sure that I will be going through a few cards to complete  our deliveries, so I prefer handmaking them  in a quick way.

 

For my first card, I am using scraps.   Last week, I was part of the mood board inspiration week.  I took advantage of the garland idea of the layout to stitch together as many circles as I could into a garland for future projects, or to decorate around the house.

 

 

I used a few of the stitched circles to create the vertical design of the card. I used colors and papers from the FALALA , CHLOE, BELLA BESTIES collections for the circles.  All the texture and dimension on the circles is already adding a lot to the card; so, I chose a few of the HEART HUGS to add the sentiment to the card.

 

For the next two cards, I followed the same formula.  Patterned paper, paper trim, and ephemera.  This formula helps me to speed up the card making process and  mass production of cards.   I always have a box of A2 cards in my stash ( a rainbow of card bases), it makes it easier to work when you have a color base.  This time, I cut the b side of the Daily Details paper as the base, and added a piece of the sticker trim from the Doohickey sticker sheet.  I used a vellum circle to make the Reindeer Bella Pop stand out, then used a piece of ephemera as the card sentiment.

I used the same recipe for this card, but used the Candy Striper patterned paper as the paper trim, too. Here I layered one of the large Doohickey stickers with a kraft mini envelope, and then used another sticker for the sentiment. In all cards, I added  enamel and epoxy stickers to pop the colors of the elements.

 

 

I hope these inspire you to create your own handmade cards using Bella Blvd goodies.  I cannot wait to see what you create

Mood Board Week Day 5 | Nathalie

Hello there friends!

Nathalie here with more Mood Board Inspiration.  It is the jolliest time of the year -even when it has not been the best of years-, and this mood board reflects its joy with all the color, texture and shapes.  Let me show you the inspiration we have been working with...

There is so much to choose from, so  I mix a bit of it all for my page...

One of the images that shows most on the board is a banner/bunting -either balloons, snowflakes, fan ornaments, pom poms-.  So, I decided to create a banner/bunting garland for my page, too.

 

 

To create the garland, I used a set of metal dies from Freckled Fawn and cut papers from the Fa La La, Chloe, and the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombré collection, as they reflect the colors in all the blocks of the board.  I grouped three circles together, and stitched them in a continuous stitch. This ensures the circles stay together, and they form a chain/garland.  

 

 

The background of my layout is a paper from the Hearts & Ombré collection.  Here, I  used a bit of strong glue and set the garland in place just as if hanging from the top of the page.   I made sure to leave the  ends of the garland hanging down the sides of the layout.  Once they were in place, I separated the papers to form a dimensional shape.   Just love how it turned out.

 

 

I used a few of the papers from the Fa La La collection to back and layer the pictures of my daughter with her photo booth props.  I used embellishments from the same collection to add a bit more interest to the pictures.

 

For the title of  my page, I pulled inspiration from the mood board, and decided to leave the title white. I used the Christmas Cut Outs to build my title, and simply backed the cut Out with a piece of vellum.  In addition, I pulled a small tree from the Wreath Cut Outs and backed it with papers from the Fa La La and Hearts & Ombré papers.  I set these below the picture, then added a few chipboard presents (like in the mood board) and a small sticker from Fa La La to complete the title work.

 

To finish the page, I sprinkled enamel dots and resin hearts around the clusters and garland for an extra pop of color. I love how this turned out, and I hope it also inspires you to work on a new project.  Remember to share with us all your Mood Board inspired pages, we love to see your work!

Fall & Winter Themed Week Day 6 | Nathalie

Hi there Bella Blvd Friends!

Nathalie with you today with one last bit of Fall inspiration before we head into the jolliest season of the year.  I keep a very visual journal of our days; so, today i want to share with you two of the newest entries created with the new Bella Besties Ombre/Heart collection.

 

I started my projects by cutting the leaves from the Bell Pepper, McKintosh, Orange, Punch and Pony Bella Besties Ombre/Heart Papers using the Fall Leaves cut file (#332735 Silhouette Store).  

For my first entry, I chose to create a pocket page.   I cut the Guacamole Ombre/Heart paper for the base of the picture. Once, I set it in place, I added a few of the leaves as if flying/falling at the bottom of the page.   I used some of the negative of the picture to add my title using the Florence Alphabet in black.  A few of the matte enamel dots complete the page.

 To create the pocket cards, I first trimmed one of the 4x6 cut apart cards from the Spooky and Sweet collection, then added a piece of the Guacamole Ombre/heart paper to cover the writing, and then just added a few more leaves.    For my filler card, I used the lighter side of the Guacamole Ombre paper -cut  to size-  them added a tag from the Legacy collection and top it of with one of the leaves. I carried over the phrase stickers and enamel dots to create a well balanced spread.

For my next spread, I wanted to use all the leaves and color to bring Fall Splendor to my pages.   So, I started with a bit of ink blending to the white cardstock background.

I used a gel pen to draw the small vein line on the leaves, then used a bit of foam adhesive to attach them to the background.  I used a combination of the Wonky puffy alpha and Florence Sticker alpha to complete my title.

For the other side of the page, I cut a piece of the Guacamole Ombre/Hearts paper to size.  I backed the picture with a piece of Bell Pepper Ombre Heart paper then just added it to the page.  Just a few embellishments ( Let's Go on Adventure, Freshly Squeezed and Chloe collections) bring the focus to the picture.

I hope these have inspired you to document those last days of Fall, and now we are ready to get our Christmas spirits up!

Fall & Winter Themed Week Day 3 | Tegan Skwiat

Hi there Bella friends! I am excited to share today's layout with you all. I had so much fun using the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre patterned papers and a Bella Blvd Cut Out word to create a fun graphic for my page! I also mixed in two new collections and an older one. I used the new Chloe and Monsters & Friends Collections as well as the older Mind Your Manners Collection. I love that all of the Bella Blvd collections mix and match so easily! 

I embellished the top of the page with the Monsters & Friend Party Time and Batty patterned papers. I then added embellishment stickers and chipboard pieces from the Mind Your Manners collection. I used the chipboard owl to fill in the letter 'A' in Family. I also added a couple enamel dots to give his eyes some dimension. 

I used the FAMILY cut out from the Family & Friends Cut Outs pack and fall colors of the Hearts & Ombre patterned papers. I simply cut the strips a little wider than 1/2" thick and adhered them to a scrap piece of cardstock. I then cut the letters out and adhered them to the back of the Cut Out. I absolutely love the fall feeling rainbow effect this made! 

Did you also notice that I used the ombre side of the Blueberry Hearts & Ombre patterned paper for my background paper?! I love that all of the ombre papers make great backgrounds too! What is your favorite color of the Hearts & Ombre patterned papers?! They are all so fabulous I don't think I can pick just one favorite!

Thanksgiving Week Day 6 | Traci

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!  November is always one of my favorite months of the year ... the fall season in Georgia is so pretty, I love the cooler temperatures, and the Thanksgiving holiday always reminds me to be grateful.

So for my project, I used some colorful Bella Besties papers and Trinkets puffy stickers to create a gratitude journal.

For the album base, I used the Essential Mini Album die (661094) that was designed by Lori Whitlock for Sizzix.  I cut the base of the album pages out of white card stock, and the inset papers out of Bella Besties and lined journaling paper.

 

The pattern papers and cute flower die cuts are from the Chloe collection, and the "thankful" title is a die from Echo Park Paper Co.  (Links to all products can be found on my Artsy Albums blog).

I kept my album pretty simple because I plan to put 3x4 photos on the left side of every layout, and then journal about the things I'm thankful for on the right.

 

I added clusters of Trinkets puffy stickers on each journaling page.  I love how there are flowers, hearts and arrows so that I can mix it up.  So simple but so cute!

 

I love small little albums dedicated to journaling.  This would also be a fun project for kids to write what they are thankful for, or you could change up the papers to mcintosch and guacamole for a Christmas traditions journal.

Thanksgiving Week Day 4 | Nathalie

 Hello there Bella Blvd friends!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our US friends! 

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of inspiration using the beautiful Bella Blvd goodies.  This week we are documenting Gratitude.  I couldn't think of anything that fills my thankful cup than being a mom to my two teen-soon-to-be-adult kids.   

 

I wanted a colorful cascade of hearts for my page, so I reached for the Love You Lots cut-outs to build my layout.   I backed one of each of the hearts with vellum, then used foam adhesive to attach it to a piece of Hearts/Ombre White Bella Besties paper.  Once the cut out was in place, I fill each of the empty hearts' spaces with the new Bella Blvd Trinkets, so that I have a chain of rainbow hearts.

 

The new puffy stickers are colorful and small enough to fill the heart spaces and bring a pop of color to the page.   I decided to add a few extra stickers to some of the vellum hearts on the left of the page.  These help to emphasize the colors in each of the hearts.

 

 

I placed my picture to the right of the heart cut-outs.  I added a few pieces of papers from the Mom's Life collection as layers behind the pictures, Then decided to create smaller clusters at the corners of the pictures.

I used a few more of the Trinket stickers as well as stickers from the Mom Life, and Mind Your Manners collection.  I added a simple title to the bottom of the pictures using the Oyster Florence Alpha stickers.  Finally, I added pieces of the Mom Life Doo Hickey edge stickers to frame the page.

Just love how this turned out, and how there is beauty in simplicity,color and texture.   I hope this inspires you to pull your Bella Blvd goodies to document your Gratitudes!  Remember to share with us your projects, so that we can be inspired by you, too

Cut Outs Week Day 4 | Lisa Fonseca

Hey scrappy friends, its' Lisa back on the blog and today I'm sharing a layout I created using the Bella Blvd Cut-Outs. :)

The Cut-Outs are an amazing opportunity for you to use cut files on your projects without having to have a cutting machine. They are ready for you to use and there are a ton of different ones for any theme you might want to scrap. :)

This one says "Love you Lots". I thought I'd use that one, since the assignment was to scrap a fall or family layout. I had this old photo of my sis, my dad and I, on my phone and I thought it'd be the perfect picture to use with the Cut-Out. 

To start, I chose papers from both, the Chloe and Cooper collections. I wanted to use happy and bright colors. I really like that color combo. Some of the papers have decent patterns, while a few of them have more intricate and colorful patterns. It's really important, when you back a cut file like this, that you don't only use complicated patterns... it will look too overloaded and your eyes won't have a place to rest. 

The same rule applies to the background, when you're using a lot of different colors and patterns. The background needs to be plain. I used one of the new Belly Besties Ombre papers, which look wonderful as a background. I sprinkled some white and gold splatters all around and let them dry.

While the background was drying, I cut out the letters. Instead of backing my Cut-Out traditionally, I adhered it to my background and I used foam squares to attach the letters, to make them stand out and give the layout a bit of dimension.

I matted my photo with different scraps of paper and adhered it next to the Cut-Out. Then I used some scalloped borders, from the sticker sheet, to decorate a bit more around the photo. 

I didn't really know how to proceed at that point, I didn't know what else to use to decorate even more. But I didn't want to leave it like that because it didn't look "done" to me :)

So I took a floral patterned paper from the Chloe collection and started to fussy cut a ton of small and tiny flowers. 

Then I created three clusters of flowers around the letters. I used a lot of enamel dots in the centers to give them more interest and dimension. I also added a few enamel dots around the clusters. At the end, I really liked how it turned out. :)

I used to make frames for my layouts a lot, but since it's difficult to take good pictures of layouts with frames that are a bit warped from mixed media, I don't do it very often anymore. On this layout though, I thought it would be a great addition. So I created a frame using a teal patterned paper and then I machine-stitched a border in pink. 

To finish, I added a subtitle, using the Florence Alphas.
