Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 3 | Niki Rowland

Hi everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) and I have a new Spring layout and process video to share today using Bella Besties as well as the Chloe collection.

I started with the Springtime Title cut file available from the Silhouette Design Store. I re-arranged the letters so that ‘Spring’ was all on one line and I added an extra flower. I then cut this from a sheet of white cardstock which left me with a background with letters cut out of it. I backfilled all the letters using Bella Besties, the Freehand Graph & Dot pack. I picked out five colours that went well with the spring theme: Cotton Candy, Bell Pepper, Orange, Pickle Juice and Ice. I backfilled the cut file title with those colours, mixing up the graph sides and dot sides. I even did the tiny bits of the flowers in different colours too and they are all raised on foam pads so there is good depth to the cut file.

I fussy cut lots of hearts from a Chloe paper. I folded each one and added them to places on my layout where there were similar colours. I also arranged five together in a circle shape: with the hearts folded and arranged in this way they look like a flower.

I then went through the Chloe collection and used the Ephemera Icons, specifically the beautiful flowers in this pack. I added these to my layout too all raised on foam pads. I also used some Bella Pops the ‘Cat House’ set. I just used the two clouds from this set at the top of my layout.

I then added lots of Trinkets puffy stickers, again colour-on-colour style. I love these so much, I think they may be my favourite Bella Blvd product! I added the word ‘walk’ to extend my title using Florence alphabet stickers in Bell Pepper.

I finished off by handwriting my journaling and adding a few Matte Enamels also from the Chloe Collection. Here's another look at the finished layout:

Spring Week Day 4 | Erica Thompson

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share a sweet 8.5x11 layout documenting a day at the park! I am using one of the new cut files from Bella Blvd available in the Silhouette Design Store.

I pulled a few different collections to put this layout together and I love that I can mix up the different collections and the colors will match. I wanted some spring colors that would work well with some fussy cut florals from the Home Sweet Home collection. 

The photos are from our day at the park when we met a sweet little kitty! The boys wanted to bring her home she was so sweet! She followed them around while they played and was soaking up all the love from them! 

I knew I had to pull in some of the Chloe collection on this layout! It would probably be the only time I could use some of the cute kitty die cuts since we don't have any cats. I backed the cut file with papers from Home Sweet Home, Splash Zone and Squeeze the Day. 

I matted the photo on some pink pattern paper and created a small floral cluster aboved the photo to match clusters on cut file! I love how this turned out and it makes me happy I could use some of the Chloe die cuts!

Spring & Easter Week Day 1 | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to continue bringing you more Spring inspiration using the beautiful Bella Blvd. products.   Finally the weather is starting to change here in Canada, and soon,  we will be able to go for long walks at the park.   We love visiting the park at the height of Cherry Blossom season, everything is just too beautiful.  So, I pulled a few of those pictures to create this page...

 

 

I love the clean and flowery feel of the page, and it was so easy to put together.   Starting with a bit of mixed media on the background.

 

 

I pulled a paper from the Home Sweet Home collection, and trimmed to 11.5"x11.5".  I then, used a small ink blending brush to messily add some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide to the background in a diagonal line.   Then finished the application with a few splatters of the diluted ink.

 

 

While the ink dried, I used papers from the Chloe collection 6x6 paper pad, and also from the Bella Besties collection to back the flowers from the Live Love Meow Cut Outs pack.   All the pops of color with the white outline is just like little pops of color for the page.

 

 

I printed the two pictures, and backed them  and the background page with papers from the Home Sweet Home collection.   The fresh colors of the papers are perfect for the clean look of the page.  I used embellishments from the same collection to add extra sentiment to the cut out and around the pictures.

 

For the page title, I used the "Day at The Park" cut file (design # 346832).  I cut it three times from white cardstock, stacked them together, and then backed it with Bella Besties in Gulf, and attach it to the bottom of the layout.  Then used embellishments from the Home Sweet Home collection on the page, then added Matte Enamel dots from Cooper collection to complete the page.

Alphabets Week Day 4 | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd. friends!

Nathalie here, so excited and grateful to be back for another term working with all the beautiful Bella Blvd products.   We are starting the new term with projects and inspiration featuring our latest alpha stickers.   If you have seen my work before then, you know I love journal, and black and white with a hint of rainbow, therefore this project was a fun one to put together...

 

I love my family, and the best memories always happen when we are together.  So the best way to bring the story to the page was using a large title, hearts and a bit of color.

 

I started by drawing a heart in the center of the White Bella Besties Ombre/Hearts.  Using a paper piercing tool, I created a stitching guide on the drawn heart, and then used a chain stitch to define the heart on the page.   Here, I used a combination of the Oyster Florence Alpha Stickers and Aria Puffy Stickers to fill the heart with my title ( a piece of wax paper helps to align everything in place before gluing it permanently to the paper).

 

 

I reserved the top right quadrant of the heart to place my photo (these are all my cousins from my dad's side of the family).  I framed the picture with a few papers so that it will stand out from the heart.   A bit of foam adhesive helps to make it pop from the page!  Since I did not want to take away from the title work, I chose to keep my embellishments to a repeating element -hearts- in rainbow clusters.

 

 

I placed the clusters at the corner of the picture, bottom of the heart, and the left side of the heart.  Most of the hearts come from the Home Sweet Home collection along with some Bella Hugs. To finish the page, I added a few lines of journal, then added matte enamel shapes from different collection around each cluster.

 

 

I love how this turned out, and how the alphas just bring the story and sentiment of the page together in a nice and colorful way.  Remember to come back tomorrow for more inspiration using alpha stickers.  Cannot wait to see what you create with them, too!

Bella Besties week Day 6 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hi there!

Nathalie here with another fun day of our Bella Besties week.  Our theme this week is Love, and there is nothing ( well, maybe my husband) that I love more than my three children (and, yes! one is a furry kind).   We are so blessed to be entrusted these souls for us to shape and then let go to the world.  So, even though motherhood can be challenging, I wanted to focus on the good and documented it as I see it, in a rainbow!

 

What better way to capture love than with hearts.  I used a metal die set and cut hearts from Bella Besties Dot/Graph and Bella Besties  Ombre/Heart.  I made sure that the patterns changed  so that there is interest in the background.

Since the design is pretty simple, I chose to add texture to the hearts.  For this, I used a paper piercing tool to create a stitching guide (poked holes around the outter perimeter of the shapes), then hand stitched each heart with matching embroidery floss.

 

Once all the hearts were stitched, I placed them on the cardstock in a rainbow order.  A bit of foam adhesive helps to create dimension on the hearts and also gives movement to the layout.  I did not want to overcrowd the hearts with decorations; so, I used stickers and ephemera words from Mom Life, Home Sweet Home, and Fa La La collection, and  tried to place them following the color of the hearts.

I kept the layers behind the picture fairly simple and added a few pieces of paper from Squeeze the Day collection.   I continued adding just simple word stickers and embellishments to finish the page.

 

I kept the title pretty simple so that it will not take away from the rainbow hearts.  I mixed an acrylic word, with Florence Alpha stickers, and Alpha Stickers from Monsters and Friends Doohickey sticker.  I added a few Matte Enamel Dots from different collections to match the hearts and called it done!

 

 

I love how this page turned out, and I hope this week has given you ideas on how to use Bella Besties to document your beloved memories!

CUT FILES + BELLA BESTIES WEEK - Day 3 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hello there Bella Blvd. Friends!

Nathalie here to share a bit more inspiration for our Cut file and Bella Besties week.  This week our inspirations is hearts.  Well, hearts to me always mean love, the kind that makes your heart go soft and feel happy.  For us, that means our little one, our 10yr-old Boston Terrier baby, POOCHIE.  He is our third baby -loved and spoiled as such-.  He love us unconditionally, but the bond he shares with his 18 year old sister is beyond love.  So, I pulled one of their portraits for this layout:

 

How cute is the layout!  I started by using the Rainbow Heart Border (# 298259) to 4 hearts from each of the following Bella Besties Graph/Dot papers: Gulf, Pickle, Bell Pepper, Orange, Peep, Plum and Blueberry.  I used some 12x12 paper and  a few 6x6 papers for the hearts  as they provide interest to the background.

To make sure the hearts stand out on the page,  I used white cardstock for the background.  Using a rainbow as inspiration, I glued the outline of the hearts in rows on the  left side of the layout.  I left about a 1/4" separation between the rows.

 

To bring dimension and interest to the background, I added a bit of foam adhesive to the negative heart pieces as they were attached to the background.  I left a small offset when attaching the hearts, and follow the same color order.   

 

I used a piece of Bella Besties Ombre/Heart to back the picture, and set at the bottom row of the hearts right on the center.   I wanted to continue the rainbow effect onto my title;  for this, I sized the BESTIES cut file (#342749) to fit around the same width as the heart row, and cut it from white cardstock three times.

 

I glued the three cut outs together, so that they form a dimensional diecut, and back each of the letter spaces with the same paper used for the hearts.  Once again, I followed the color order. The title then set at the bottom of the page.  I complemented the title with an Acrylic word and added a few extra heart cut outs, ephemera and pop ups from the Cooper collection.

 

 

To finish the page, I added word sticker from the Chloe and Cooper Doohickey sheet, epoxy shapes and trinket stickers around the heart background,  making sure that it all was color blocked!  I love how this turned out.  This came together super easily once I set the rainbow hearts idea to play.   I hope this inspires you to document your memories using Bella Blvd products!

Cut Files Week Day 2 | Dorymar

Hello Bella fans, it's Dorymar today with a beautiful layout.  It's Cut File week and I selected the “Sweet on You” digital file from Bella BLVD Silhouette Store.  For this project, I combined the Bella Besties papers with Chloé Collection. Let's take a look!

As a base of my layout, I used two different Bella Besties papers, one from the Hearts and Ombré Besties and one from the Graph and Dot Besties. I reduced the Pink Graph and Dot Besties at 11.25x11.25 and adhered it on top of the Pink Hearts and Ombré paper, with my scissors I distressed the edges to create a little textured then I made some splatters with white paint.

I wanted to add a lot of color and layers to my project, for that, I used several patterns from the 6x6 paper pad from Bella besties graph and dot, and with some circle cutters, I cut several 2.5" and 2" circles. Then I selected the Smitten and Cat Crazy papers from the Chloé collection to match my Bella Besties these add much more color and layers to highlight my photo and title.

I baked my digital cut file with the Yellow Heart and Ombre Besties, I select this color because it stands out very well in the color range. To highlight it more I added the Trinkets Puffy Stickers, Die Cut, and the adorable Oscar Bella Pop from Cooper Collection.

I adore this layout so much!  It includes many things that I love, the bright tones, flowers, dogs, and my beloved daughter. I hope it inspires you to create using the versatile Bella Besties papers and the spectacular titles from the Bella Blvd Silhouette store.

Cut files Week Day 5 | Nathalie

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share a bit more of inspiration for our Bella Besties and Cut files week.  If there is something, I learned from 2020 was to be be grateful for all the little things.  In year's past, I have created gratitude journals around Thanksgiving.  This year, however, I am extending my journal to a year long project.  I have chosen a larger format style Traveler's Notebook for this ( Heidi Swapp Chapters album).  I love the size and all the notes and stories I can document in them.  So, I took advantage of this week to document one of my most favorite ( and one of the things I am mostly grateful for), COFFEE...

 

As soon as I saw the, "Have A Latte",  #329125 cut file, the idea formed in my head for this page.  So, I used Bella Besties Ombre/Hearts and Bella Besties Dot/Graph to cut the  pieces of the cup.

 

I wanted to give the image some dimension.  For this, I added stitching to the coffee cup sleeve and lid of the cup.  The small handstitched lines make the image pop from the  page.   Since my idea was to focus the page on the cup, I am using a piece of the Bella Besties Black Ombre & Hearts as the background for the page. I even hand stitched the small plumes of smoke that come in the cut file design straight onto the background.

 

 

I wanted to bring the look of  my cup of  coffee to the title page; so, I used cut file # 290364 , "PERFECT", to cut the word three times from the Bella Besties Pony Ombre & Heart paper.  I glued this as an offset layer, so that the three colors will show as in the coffee layers of the cup.  I brought matte enamel dots from the Cat Mix and Christmas Mix to the page.  Then finished the cup with a cardstock sticker from the FA LA LA collection.

 

 

For my journal page, I am using a piece of the patterned paper from the POP QUIZ collection.   I used vellum to print my story, and placed it on the left of the page.  The picture was backed with a piece of Bella Besties Pony Ombre & Heart paper. Here, I mixed a variety of collections to add just a few more embellishments to the page ( ephemera - Squeeze the Day collection, Alphas - Monsters and Friends collection,  Bella Besties Trinkets in Ice, Bubble Gum, Florence Alpha in Oyster,  Word Salad - sticker tablet).

 

 

I love how this turned out, and how easy it was to combine the collections and cutfiles in one single spread.

Cut Files Week Day 4 | Maryam

Hello Friends! Maryám here and I am so excited to be back today with a new layout. This week we are focusing on Bella Besties and Cut Files! Which two of my favorite things when it comes to layouts!

To create this page, I started by cutting 322422 Bed of Roses Cut File with the help of my Silhouette Cameo 3. Before sending the file through my machine, I resized it to make it fit an 8.5 x 11" inches page. After the machine finished doing its job, I started to look for some papers to back the beautiful white florals.

 

I chose some papers from the Free Graph & Dot Patterned Papers Collection and from the new Hearts and Ombré Paper collection as well. The colors I worked with are- Peep, Cotton Candy, Orange, Bell Pepper, Pickle Juice, Ice, Gulf, and Plum. I used one color for each flower which in the end, created a really nice rainbow.

 

 

 

Now, after I finished backing the cut file, I added some foam square behind it and placed the "Bed of Roses" on my page. Following up, I added a photo of our cute Kitty, as well as my journaling and title. 

Last, but not least, to embellish the layout, I added some word stickers from the Word Salad Sticker Booklet around the page. In addition, I also decided to add a couple of die-cut pieces from the Chloe Ephemera Icons Set and a few epoxy hearts and matte enamel dots.

 

 

Now, Let's take a look at the final layout!

Cut Files Week Day 3 | Traci

Happy Wednesday everyone!  We're in the middle of cut-file week over at Bella Blvd and I wanted to share my fun little shaped mini with all of you!  I used two of Bella's cut files, the adorable fish bowl and sweet orange cat from the Chloe collection.  I welded them together in my Silhouette software so that the mischievous kitty appeared to be peeking over the fish bowl....

I used lots of hearts and ombre paper throughout this album, and popped in a few die cuts from the Chloe collection (one of my all-time favorite Bella lines!).  

 

For the fish bowl, I used different shades of ombre ice for the water, and some orange dot besties for the little fish.  That seaweed is actually epoxy hearts, and a die cut from the Santa Squad ephemera!

 

I cut all of my pages out of white card stock and then created an internal offset with my Cameo software for layers of pattern paper.  

 

Like the phrase says ... "I can't with the cute" ... that little kitty with the glasses and pink bow just makes me smile!

 

Shaped albums are so much fun to create.  I hope I've given you some ideas for using cut files for mini albums like mine!  You could almost have a mini shaped like anything!  Add a few bella besties, some epoxy hearts, and a couple cute ephemera pieces and you'll have a perfect little gift or keepsake in no time!  Here are some of the products I used for this project....

Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 6 - Lisa Fonseca

Hey friends,

today I'm back with a new layout using the Chloe collection. 

When I thought about what I would create for this layout, an idea popped into my head, where I would make cat heads and use thread all around to stitch and add little embellishments, like beads and sequins.

I thought about the best way that I could do that and I decided to cut out white cat heads, in different sizes, adhere them to patterned papers in rainbow colors, cut them out, leaving a border and then stitch on that same border, adding the embellishments.

That's exactly how I did it and I think it turned out amazing!

For the background, I put gesso all over my white cardstock and then I used acrylic inks to create this mixed media rainbow design. I just put some drops of acrylic ink on the paper, smooshed it around with a brush, spritzed some water and let it spread on the page by turning the paper up and down. I repeated that with seven colors, until the rainbow was complete. I dried it with my heating tool and then added white splatters for more detail.

With all those cute sparkly cat heads, I didn't really need a lot more. I placed them on my paper the way that I liked and chose a photo of my cat, Kätti. I matted it on white paper and adhered it next to my self-made embellishments. Then I used two tags from the die-cuts pack to place behind the photo. 

I then went through the die-cuts and chipboard stickers and grabbed all the pieces that I thought I could use. I placed them on my layout and then I also added some enamel hearts.

For my title, I used chipboard words. The "cat" one was gray. To make it stand out more, I painted it black using my black ink from Liquitex. 

Then I adhered my title above and on the photo.

I really like how it turned out, especially the beads and sequins on the cat heads. :)
