Mother's Day Is Coming! | Emilie Chamel

Hi Friends! Emilie here to share with you a project dedicated to Mother's Day! I hope this will inspire you to celebrate all the mothers around the world!

To get started, I rummaged through all the Bella Blvd collections I have at home. I wanted to use something fitting all the while unexpected. Squeeze the day jumped at me! With all its hearts I knew I would be able to make it work while the fruity vibes would give my layout some zest.

 

My biggest challenge was with which photos to scrap! The photos of Sophia and me together are few or ones that I'd rather have remain only for the family as I am currently not the most comfortable in front of a camera. I opted with older images which reflect two of my favorite things about being her mum: the cuddles and the fun!

I loved playing with layering and clustering on this layout!

 

Even by taking a collection out of its context, you can make the words work for you by bending their meaning. Here a summer adventure becomes the adventure of a lifetime!

Mixing different fonts is always a great idea if you want to make an impact on a layout!

By layering ephemeras and patterned papers and sewing together, you create your own homemade embellishment! So much texture!

My Candy Girl and Bella Besties Week, Day 6 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to share one more project featuring this week's inspiration:  My Candy Girl and Bella Besties Ombre/Heart collections.   With it being so close to Valentine's day, what better way to celebrate the day than to document love.  These are some of my favorite photos of my kids loving their first cousin, nothing better than Family love to make it all better.

 

 

I started with the Sprinkle With Love paper for the background.   I then added a piece of Cookie Dough paper, plus added two decorative edges ( All Girl paper), these will anchor the layout.

 

 

Using a polaroid photo metal die, I cut 8 frames from Bella Besties Ombre/Heart collection -in Gulf, Guacamole, Peep, and Punch-, making sure that the frames show the vibrant color change in the papers

 

 

I backed the light colored frame die cuts with the photos, then used the light negative piece of the frames to back the leftover frames.  These were then glued across the top and bottom of the page. Having those empty photo frames just adds  interest to the page.

 

 

I used the empty frames to add embellishments (My Candy Girl collection) and also add my journaling.   It kept the embellishments simple so that they won't overwhelm the page.

 

 

For the title, I combined Ciao Chips and ephemera.  I repeated the look of some of the frames on the Ciao chips by adding a bit of ink to them.

My Candy Girl + Hearts & Ombre Week, Day 5 | Tarrah

Hi creative friends,

It's Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new layout for My Candy Girl/Hearts and Ombre Love theme week!

I just love February because its Love month and I can create projects using all the hearts and lots of pink too!

I started out by choosing one of the Heart/Ombre papers in pink for my background. I turned it over to show the pink Ombre side and ripped two of the papers from the My Candy Girl collection to place at the top of my layout. I ripped the red and pink polka dot paper slightly larger as I knew this would be the paper on the bottom. I then layered the blue piece with the hearts on the top and bent up the edges on both pieces at the top and bottom.  

I took two of the scallop border strip stickers from the Doohickey stickers and placed these at the bottom of my layout. I took a light pink and a red paper from the heart and ombre papers, cut them into 4' x 4' squares and made these into 2x origami hearts. They turned out super cute, I adhered one either side of my photo and layered some embellishments on top of them. One a chipboard flower and another, a die-cut flower and puffy heart sticker. I love how my black and white photo really pops against the gorgeous pink, red and blue colours on my page. 

My title is made up of Aria Puffy Alphabet stickers, Florence Alphabet stickers and the chipboard words from the My Candy Girl chipboard. I placed the title to the right of my photo and at the bottom of the photo also. I added one of the cute Bella Bows to the top left of my photo and added a die-cut heart to the top right of my photo. Above my photo, I added the sticker that says Sprinkled with Love, so cute I just love it!

I continued embellishing using puffy stickers, die-cuts, Doohickey stickers and chipboard icons. You will notice on my layout that the top half is heavy with papers and my photo, I have added elements to the bottom of the page to balance the heaviness out and to tie the layout together. I did use 2 different types of adhesive, some things I used regular double sided tape to adhere things and other things have foam tape underneath to add some dimension to my layout. Lastly I stamped the date stamp and sprinkled some white mist around my page.

Let Us Adore Him + Cut Files Week- Day 2 | Sarah Millerhouse

Happy, Happy New Year! I am excited to share this layout with you today! I was inspired by all the love I feel at this time of year, and I loved using the Let us Adore Him collection, along with Bella Blvd cut files, to help bring this message forward in my layout. 

I started by blending distress oxides on the background in colors that coordinate with this collection (picked raspberry, candied apple, mustard seed, mowed lawn, salvaged patina, & prize ribbon). I then added splatters of these same colors using distress ink. I added the striped pattern paper on the far right side of the layout. I distressed the edges of that before I glued it down. 

I then used the Scattered Hearts Background cut file to anchor my layout. I cut this out of the striped paper with an offset layer in white. The white layer helps the cut file stand out from the background. 

I added my sweet photos capturing a couple of our favorite Christmas Eve traditions. Above the photos, I added a cluster of hearts. I cut three hearts out of patterned paper and distressed the edges of those. I also cut one heart from the background cut file and sliced it out on my Cricut. I enlarged that to turn it into a shaker pocket. I filled it with lots of sequins and shiny bits that coordinate with the colors in this collection. 

Above the photos, I also added a few phrases from the collection. Two are stickers from the Doohickey sheet and one is cut out of the Borders patterned paper. I placed a few enamel dots and a Cute Clip Festive bow to finish off that section. 

Below the photos, I used two cut files to create the title. The Merry Word cut file I cut in two layers of white. I left the back layer white and used distress oxides (in the same colors as the background) to blend across the top. I love how happy this merry word looks! I also cut the Memories cut file and used the contour tool in Cricut to back it. I added a few more phrases from the Borders patterned paper, enamel dots, and my journaling to finish up this layout. 

As an added bonus for my Christmas album, I made this tree by cutting a giant triangle and covered it in phrases, capturing our favorite Christmas Eve traditions, to coordinate with the layout above! I made the phrases using a combination of Let Us Adore Him ephemera, Doohickey stickers, words I typed up to match, puffy stickers, patterned paper, and Florence Alphas. I popped each phrase up using a little bit of foam. At the top, I created a cluster of stars using Trinkets Puffy Stickers. The insert is just over 8 in. wide. I simply used a 12 x 12 plastic sleeve, put my page in it, all the way to the left, and trimmed off the excess part of the sleeve. I used the red trim and some hand-stitching to close up the side. On the back, I added a few more photos of our traditions.

Sketch Week & Monsters and Friends | Sarah

Happy Friday, Bella friends! It's me Sarah (@redoaklines), here today on the blog, and I'm closing out October's sketch week with my take on it using the super cute Monsters & Friends collection.

As a reference and a reminder, here's the sketch that I used for inspiration:

I love that this sketch was geared for three photos! I'm always on the lookout for layout designs that have multiple photos. As you can see, I didn't want to stray too much from the original sketch because I just love the look of it. 

With the provided sketch, it was pretty easy to crank this layout out. I picked out three photos from Halloween last year, and I started creating embellishment clusters around them. 

I used a handful of the die cuts from the Monsters & Friends Ephemera Icons. I also added some of the Halloween Heart Hugs and some Bella Pops to these embellishment clusters.

Last but not least, I added some of the Star Epoxy Stickers from the Monsters & Friends collection to add more color and dimension to my layout. I tend to add them off to the sides of my embellishment clusters, but honestly, these stars can be added anywhere on your projects. They're so versatile! I also love the epoxy look to them - so shiny!

Fall Mood Board Week by Tarrah

Hi creative friends!

It's Tarrah back with you and today I am excited to be sharing a new Fall inspired layout, this week we are creating projects using the gorgeous mood board below as inspiration. 

From the mood board I was immediately drawn to the leaves/feathers in the top centre rectangle. I decided to cut out some of the leaf cut files from the Silhouette Store in a variety of sizes using mostly the 'B' side of the Daily Details paper from the To the Moon collection. I like how the leaves look 'dipped'. Once the leaves were all cut out I backed them all with vellum and then added machine stitching with white thread to the centres, I like how this adds some texture to the leaves.

I chose the Pickle Juice Heart and Ombre paper as my background paper, I trimmed it down slightly to back it onto the Pony Heart and Ombre paper, I then machine stitched around the outer edge to add some more texture. I arranged the leaves in a falling pattern and once happy with the arrangement, I adhered them by just adding glue to the very centre of the back so that I could bend up the edges of them. 

I placed my photo on the right of the leaf arrangement, tucking it into the leaves so that it was connected. My title I placed on the left amongst the leaves, the title is made up of the Ciao Chipboard Hello word and the orange Aria puffy alphabet stickers. Once the main elements were adhered it was time to add some smaller embellishments. I pulled out various things that went with the colour scheme like the acrylic hearts, some puffy shapes, puffy hearts, corrugated heart hugs and some die-cuts.

I placed the larger scallop die-cut to the centre of one of the bigger leaves and layered a speech bubble die-cut over the top. I love how it says 'Let's Play'. The photo was taken while doing a photo shoot with some friends amongst heaps of fallen autumn leaves. We were throwing them in the air and having heaps of fun and laughing heaps too! I added a cute Bella Bow to the left of the photo. Once I had added some of the smaller embellishments, I sprinkled some white mist around the page and stamped the date stamp.

Father's Day Week 2 |Nathalie

Hello there Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie here to continue with our Father's Day week.  We are drawing inspiration from Bella Besties and To The Moon collections for our projects.  I have been blessed with a loving husband who is amazing at parenting our teenage kids, especially our -now- 20 year old son.   So, what better way to celebrate them than with a clean, colorful and dimensional page.

 

 

The new patterns in the To The Moon collection are gorgeous, and the  best way to use many of  them is with a grid design!   For this, I cut 2" strips of the My Whole Universe paper , then trimmed each strip to 2x2 squares, and thus created the solid squares in the grid.   I used these to draw my grid on a Bella Besties  Ombre/Hearts Ice paper, and use some white embroidery floss to hand stitch it.

 

 

To complete my grid design, I went back to the papers, and cut 2x2" squares from a few of the papers that match the color of the solid squares.   I used foam adhesive to attach the squares to the grid, making sure that the patterned squares formed a zig zag through the page.  

 

 

There is plenty of pattern and color in the background; so, I opted for a piece of Blueberry Chevies Clear Cut paper to back the picture.  A few pieces of ephemera and stickers adorn the corners of the picture.

 

 

For the title, I am using Aria Puffy Stickers in Orange, and placed them in the solid orange squares. A few enamel stickers and trinkets help to  make the title pop from the squares.

 

I added a few embellishment clusters through the page, always making sure that each piece coordinates with the color of the square they sit on.     To finish the page, I sprinkled a few more enamel dots around each of the clusters.

 

 

I love how this turned out.  The grid, the colors, dimension and patterns are perfect for this memory of my boys. Remember to come back tomorrow for more inspiration!

My Candy Girl & Bella Besties Week Day 3 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a new day of MY CANDY GIRL & BELLA BESTIES week.  Nathalie with you today to share some inspiration using this amazing combination of collections.   I just love the colors of the collection; so, my project is just an ode to the color palette, and that awesome cupcake cart ephemera!

 

 

I started the page with the Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre ICE paper for the base.  I had a series of photos of my little one ( Goddaughter) with a new cupcake cart toy ( this was a present from us after finishing her first school year).   My choice was to keep the pictures as a film strip and just play with color around it

 

 

I used a few of My Candy GIrl patterned paper to create a few layers of paper behind the picture ( I am using lots of red and pink to contrast with the blue background).  I fussy cut a few donut images from the NOT SHARING paper.  I mixed these with ephemera icons and stickers to create a cluster at the top left corner of the pictures ( the Bella bows are perfect to add texture and a finishing touch to tags).

 

 

I pulled the Girl Pennant set, to bring more of the felt texture to the page.  This time, I colored the small wood sticks with white acrylic paint, then glued them to the bottom right of the photo strip.  The small bow ephemera is just perfect to keep these together.

 

 

Once, I set the picture on the  background, I added the scalloped edge chipboard, as well as one of the border stickers from the Doohickey stickers to anchor my page.   I used the top line of  the piece to add my title -a combination of stickers and chipboard stickers).  I added a bit of foam adhesive behind the cupcake cart ephemera and capped my title with it!  A few more of the fussy cut donut images, complete this page!

 

 

I love how this turned out!  Lots of color to celebrate my little one.  Make sure you check the collections, you are going to love all you can create with them!

My Candy Girl Week Day 4 | Nathalie DeSousa

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie with you today to share my first layout featuring the new MY CANDY GIRL Collection.   This collection is perfect to document all those sweet girls and moments in our lives.  The color palette and designs are just so cute!  Here is my first project with the collection:

 

 

I wanted to bring all the colors of the collection to the page.  The best way was to create layered heart die cuts for the background of the page.

 

 

I used a metal die to cut all the hearts.  I played with all the die cuts to create a cascade look on the left hand side of a white cardstock.   I held them in place with a drop of glue, then hand stitched through the center of them.  This helps to lift the edges creating the soft dimension on the page.

 

 

I used the left over pieces of the papers to back the picture.  All the layers just add interest to the photo; however, I still added a bit of foam adhesive to make sure the photo pops from the page.  I used some of the Doohickey stickers and Daily Details paper to add interest to the picture.   The small Bella clip just adds interest to the picture.

 

 

For my title, I used some of the Ciao chips and used some teal ink to add a small ombre effect to white surface.  I paired this with a few Aria puffy stickers and those cute little elements from the My Candy Girl collection. I need more of the little pigs in my life!

 

 

I love how this turned out, and I love the collection.  It was perfect for this picture of my little ones, and I have plans for others, already.  Be sure to check it out!  You will love it, too!

Bella Besties & Chloe Week Day 1 | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd. friends!

Nathalie with you today to share a new project all about our cat-nephew Chico!  I am sure many of you have a furry friend in the family.  We love our little Boston Terrier, Poochie, but my niece adores her little one, a cat named Chico!  Unfortunately, most of us are not cat-people, but this little one has made a dent in our heart.   So, I pulled the Bella Besties Ombre/Hearts and Chloe collection to create this layout:

He is quite cute, in his feline way, and I used two of the latest pictures to create this page that will go in my niece's album.  For this, I started by adding a bit of white paint to the b side of the Cat Crazy paper from the Chloe collection.  This creates a sort of ghosting effect on the page, think of it as a way to softly cover the background.

While the background dried, I used a font from the Silhouette shop to cut the letters of Chico's name using papers from the Chloe and Bella Besties Ombre/Heart collections.  I glued these to white cardstock, and then handstitched the edges.  I simply fussy cut the letters and attached them to the background with a bit of foam adhesive.

I used the left over pieces from the letter cuts to create layers behind the pictures.  I pulled embellishments from the Chloe collection ( stickers, chipboard, ephemera) and created clusters around the page.  I added my lines of journal at the bottom of the page, right below the title work.
