Spring Vibes and Besties | Inessa

Hey friends,

I'm back sharing a layout that brings all the spring vibes. I'm so ready for some warmer weather and for flowers! This layout is made with a mix of Bella's You Are My Sunshine and Bella Besties papers.

I started with a scrap piece of the Shine Bright paper (rainbow stripes) and cut the stripes apart. They measure to 5 .75" x 1.25" and have distressed edges. I then layered them slightly overlapping each other and staggering the start and finish. For dimension, i adhered them using foam tape to my white cardstock base. 

I used my cricut machine to cut out the flowers in various sizes and shapes from Bella Besties papers and patterned paper in the You Are My Sunshine collection. I then layered them together, folded the petals and added enamel dots for the centers. The flowers are adhered with liquid glue. 

The title is the Acrylic Word and I added ephemera, a flower sticker and a chip board heart.

Time to Travel: Acrylics & Puffies Week- Day 4 | Rachel O'Neal

Hello friends and happy summer! I hope you are enjoying some warm weather and getting into the groove of a new season. I'm back with another take at the Time To Travel collection. We took a trip to the North Georgia mountains for a camping weekend and I knew this collection would be perfect for some of my photos.

I started with a piece of 12" x 12" Bella Besties Graph and Dot paper in black. I used my Cricut machine to cut out nine scalloped frames with the graph side of the paper. These scalloped circles are 3" wide. Then, I used three 12" x 12" patterned papers from the Time To Travel collection - On The Go, Back Roads, and Love This Place. I used my Cricut again to cut out circles to go inside the scalloped frames. These circles are 2 1/2" in diameter. I made them smaller so there would be plenty of room for the cardstock to be seen. I did two circles for each patterned paper. That left me with three frames for my photos. Next, I took my scalloped frames, patterned paper circles, and photos and arranged them in grid fashion on a white piece of 12" x 12" cardstock.

Then I decided to put on my title because I knew I wanted to use the large "explore" acrylic. It fits perfectly and really makes a statement in the middle of the page. I stamped underneath the title.

What really makes the layout pop though is all the fabulous embellishment choices in the Time To Travel collection. I used foam tape to make several of them stand out from the page. I also layered others all around. I finished the layout but using my type writer to journal the story of the weekend.

Time To Travel, Acrylics & Puffies Week- Day 2 | Inessa

Hi friends,

Happy Time to Travel + Acrylics week! I hope you are having a good start to June thus far. I'm continuing to document our Florida Spring Break vacation and wanted to make a layout just about me :). I started with this 4x6 photo with shades of blues and teals and selected papers to coordinate.

I used the B side of the On the Go paper as my mat and cut a piece of white cardstock to 11x11 inches. I added machine stitching in black thread all around to create a boarder. Once I decided on my photo placement, I stenciled the chevron pattern onto the white cardstock in the top right quadrant with two different Distress Oxides- Salvaged Patina and Shabby Shutters. I chose this particular stencil pattern because of the chevron pattern in my photo. I love it when a photo can inspire the entire layout.

Next step was to add strips of patterned paper in similar blue and teal tones. I used scraps from prior projects which is a great way to get those used up. The papers I used are the B side of Let's Get Lost and Freeway. I used the A & B side of Freeway. I also used Bella Besties Hearts & Ombre in Gulf. I placed them over the stenciling, using my photo as a guide and then stitched through the middle in the same black thread.

The photo is popped up on foam strips and the title is built with the Acrylic word 'happy' from the Happy & Smile set. The word 'travel' is from the Ciao Chip Icons. 

The last step was creating embellishment clusters and adding some sparkle. The flowers and camera are from Ciao Chip and Ephemera Icons. The epoxy hearts and sequin from SpiegelMom Scraps add the sparkle. I love how this turned out and I hope I've inspired you to create.

Time to Travel, Puffies & Acrylics Week- Day 1 | Emilie

Hi friends! Emilie here to share my project I created using the Time to Travel collection as well as the "Explore" acrylic word!

Sophia goes though some very heavy phases of "no photos". This can make it hard, when mixed with me forgetting to take photos due to being too engrossed in the moment, to have plenty of new pictures to scrapbook... With Covid lock-down and my photography problems mentioned above, I do not have tones of travelling images. Here is why I love the fact that Bella BLVD products can be super versatile! Instead of recording an adventure taking us hundreds of miles away, I recorded one taking place on our doorstep, literally! 

Sophia has a true love for the services: police, firemen, ambulance... you name it. At Christmas she was offered an electric motorbike and we took it for a spin straight away. She was so proud on her bike! It was a perfect photo opportunity!

 

I had the perfect photo to scrapbook but now I needed to find a way to make it work with a travelling collection... Well I must admit it was easy! My first step was to chose my colors. I wanted to use the black and white stripes as it reminded me of the services and the blue was a perfect match for her police bike. I settled on the green as my third color simply as I felt it kept the layout fresh and original.

 

I started by fussy cutting some tags from the patterned paper and then use some die-cuts to cut even more tickets from the patterned papers. I alternated the patterns on my background, creating layers, until I was happy with my "base".

 

Once that was done, I matted my photograph onto the green patterned paper and attached it to my layout. I glued my acrylic title onto the green stripe of the multicolored striped patterned paper to then fussy cut around it. This technique really helps the title stand-out!

The finishing touch came in the form of a sprinkle of stars and a few words to make my title make sense of what was happening.

I had so much fun creating this layout! I especially loved playing with the acrylic title!

Happy Dogs | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout using the super cute Cooper collection!  I'm so excited and thankful to be able to return for another term on the Creative Team and can't wait to share more layouts with y'all.  Here's my page: 

To start, I went through the patterned papers in the collection and pulled out the Daily Details, Paws and Dog Park 12x12 papers.  I also pulled in the Bella Besties Graph & Dot papers in Ice, McIntosh and Bell Pepper.  I cut them into 6x1/2-inch strips and arranged them vertically across a piece of white cardstock.  Before adhering each strip down, I distressed the edges. Once they were all glued down, I ran the whole page through my sewing machine to add a few rows of stitching in the center.  After I was done stitching, I roughed up and folded the edges of the strips to give the entire page more interest.

 

I then matted my photo and popped it up on foam tape.  Next, I created a couple of embellishment clusters around my photo using the Ephemera Icons and Ciao Chip Chipboard stickers.

 

Here's the other cluster.  I also tucked in a few of the Trinkets Puffy Stickers in Ice & Gulf and White.  

There was some empty space at the top of my photo, so I added a Cute Clip to it and loved that pop of red. 

For my title, I used the Happy Acrylic Word and added onto it using the Florence Alphas in Ice.

I love documenting photos of my dogs and the Cooper collection is perfect for all of them.  There are so many great elements in this collection and the colors are so fun! Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I've inspired you in some way!  If you want to use a lot of patterns on a layout but don't want it to be super busy, try trimming them down to small strips and arrange them either vertically or horizontally.  All of the patterns end up working together nicely and adding stitching gives it that nice touch!  See you in my next post friends!

Designer's Choice Week | Nathalie

Hello Bella Blvd friends!

Nathalie here with my last post as part of the Bella Blvd Design Team.   The past two years as part of the team have been a huge honor, but my choice to step down from the team was a hard one, but a necessary one.   I am forever thankful to Stephanie S. for inviting me, and to my friend Stephanie Buice for being awesome as CT coordinator, and all around amazing!  And what better way to finish than with a project of my choice.

 

 

I love butterflies, and  the ones in the You Are My Sunshine collection were just perfect for this layout about my little cousins. 

 

I started by adding a bit of mixed media to my background, making sure to pick the color of the sash in my cousins' dresses.   I added a faded impression of a flutter of butterflies on the page.   To anchor the design and mixed media to the page, I ripped pieces of the background (right at the edge of the page), and backed the spaces with patterned paper from the You Are My Sunshine collection

 

 

I added a few layers of patterned paper behind the photo, and attached it to the center of the page.  I used pieces of ephemera, chipboard stickers, and enamel shapes to create two large clusters at corner of the photos.  I fussy cut a few butterflies and added them here to help add movement and direction through the page.

 

 

For the title of page I am mixing an acrylic word with Aria puff alphas.  I am using the last of my Bella Pops to bring more butterflies to the page, and tie all the clusters together,

 

 

I love how this turned out, and I hope that it inspires you to document your memories.  Thank you Bella Blvd for having as part of the team for the past two years, and to you all for always being there

Designer’s Choice Week | Yarelys Rodriguez

Hey there Bella Friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Yarelys here to share with you a new layout! To make this layout I used the Squeeze The Day collection and the Over The Rainbow Cut-Out.

I start my layout by backing the Cut-Out. For this I used the Borders, Fruity Hearts, Fruit Salad, I Pick You, So Berry Sweet and Zesty papers from the collection.

I wanted a sky for my rainbow, so I cut some clouds and glued them to a white cardstock with double sided tape. Then, I painted over them with the Vicki Boutin Art Crayons. Once I finished painting, I carefully took the clouds out.

Now it’s time to build my layout! I glued the rainbow with adhesive foam to give it dimension. Next, I glued my photo on top. For my title I used the acrylic words be you. Then, I cut some clouds and glued them with adhesive foam. To finish my layout I added Ephemera, Doohickey, Bella-Pops, Epoxy, Acrylic Shapes and Matte Enamels.

Sketch Week | Tegan

Good day Bella Blvd friends! Are you loving Sketch Week?!? I know I sure am!

Here is a reminder of what this week's sketch is...

And here is my take on it using mostly the You Are My Sunshine collection! Spring is almost here and I am ready for it! 

I was more than happy to break out the sunny day embellishments! Hot air balloon and sun die cut ephemera pieces? Yes, please! 

Anyone else ready for rainbows and fireflies? Here I used more You Are My Sunshine embellishments such as the chipboard rainbow and the ephemera firefly diecut. I then decorated this cluster with puffy stickers from the Let Us Adore Him collection.

For the bottom design element I used the pretty butterfly patterned You Are My Sunshine Young and Free paper. It's one of my favorites from the collection! I then used phrase stickers from the Doohickey Sticker Sheet and some of the Bella Blvd Ice Dot Washi Tape. 

I absolutely love layouts that are full of color and Bella Blvd products help me achieve that look! I am also a huge fan of layering patterned papers like I did to anchor my photo. I am IN LOVE with that rainbow striped Sunshine Patterned Paper again from the You Are My Sunshine collection! To make the title, I used an acrylic Bella Blvd word (sweet) and white alphabet stickers from the You Are My Sunshine Doohickey Sticker Sheet.

You Are My Sunshine + Bella Besties Week Day 4 | Yarelys Rodriguez

Hey there Bella Friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Yarelys here to share with you a new layout! To make this layout I used the You Are My Sunshine collection and the Bella Besties. I also used the Heart Attack Cut-Out.

I started my layout by cutting the cut-out in two pieces, I wanted to use the bigger piece on the top and the smaller piece on the bottom of the layout. Next, I backed some of the hearts with the Bella Besties.

Once I finish backing the hearts, I glued the cut-out. Then, I glued the rest of the hearts and my photo with adhesive foam to give them dimension.

For my title I used the acrylic word Adorable. To finish my layout I added Doohickey, Ephemera, Heart Hugs, Bella-Pops, Puffy Stickers and white splatters.

The Perfect Day, 12x12 Layout | Melissa Mann

Good Morning, Bella friends!

This is Melissa with you this morning and I'm sharing a new project that uses a little bit of stuff from several collections :-)

The first thing I did was to layer a piece of white card stock on top of a piece of pattern paper from the Let's Go On An Adventure paper collection. I placed another panel of paper down the length of the layout on the right hand side and the used my sewing machine to stitch the diagonal lines. This created a bit of subtle movement on my project.

Next, I layered my three photos with two different pattern papers and layered them down the right hand side on the panel of pattern paper. I cut out part of my title using a digital die cut file from the Silhouette shop:  HERE. 

I combined the digital die cut phrase, an acrylic word, and some puffy alphabet stickers to create my title! Once I had my title in place, I further embellished the layout with die cuts, puffy stickers, and chipboard.

My Candy Girl Week Day 5 | Tarrah

Hi creative friends!

It's Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new layout featuring the gorgeous My Candy Girl collection. I decided to cut out one of the amazing coordinating cut files found in the Silhouette Design Store - the super cute birthday cake!

This took a little bit of time due to needing to cut so many different pieces in so many different colors.

I got all the pieces cut out and then started to piece the cake back together, I created the main base of the cake first and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! I turned the cake over and added foam tape underneath, I then adhered it to the teal heart paper from the My Candy Girl collection. I then started to add the cookie, cake pops and lollipops to the top of the cake, on the lower tier of the cake I added some of the super cute Sprinkles Epoxy Stickers. To the right of the cake, I added my photo which was perfect for this page as it is my niece on her birthday with her cake in front of her! I added one of the banner die-cuts from the Ephemera pack to the top of the photo, secured with a gorgeous Bella Bow clip and I also had to add the gorgeous little bow from the Pretty Piggy Bella Pop to my niece's hair in the photo, I think it looks so super cute in her hair! I added a few more die-cuts here near the photo and also some chipboard pieces and some Doohickey stickers too. The stickers I used on this layout help to tell the story of the photo and the overall theme of my layout.

My title is made up of the Florence alphabet stickers in Bell Pepper and I also used the gorgeous 'Birthday' acrylic word. Just near the title I also added the super cute teddy bear Bella Pop. 

On the left of the cake I added some more die-cuts and chipboard. I added the yellow chipboard heart to help with balancing out the colours on the page and to create visual triangle. I love the shadows that are created on the layout by using foam tape on some of the elements. Lastly I trimmed down the teal heart paper and adhered this to a plain white cardstock background. I then machine stitched around the edge to add some texture to my page.
