Hey friends!
For this Designer Choice Challenge, I created a layout featuring a favorite photo of my youngest son. I chose a black-and-white photo to complement the vibrant colors in the My Life 365 February collection without clashing. Here's how I brought it all together!
I started with the Bella Besties Punch Gingham and Stripes paper, which coordinates perfectly with all the collections. Then, I trimmed a piece of white textured cardstock to 11 x 11" and layered it on top, creating a clean base.
The layout features three sections:
- The center holds a 3 x 4 photo of my son, matted with a piece of February-themed paper from the collection.
- On either side, I used two cut-aparts: one with a floating heart balloon and the other with a typewriter.
To bring the design to life, I added fun embellishments:
- I enhanced the floating heart with a Bella Pop balloon heart and layered a heart sticker over the typewriter cut-apart that reads "Love."
- Two corners of the cut aparts feature stickers from the Doohickey sticker sheet.
For the title, I used the Ciao Chip "Hello" chipboard piece, accented with a mix of hearts and enamel dots. Below the title, I added journaling strips that highlight Nicolas's personality and a few memorable details about him at this point in time.
At the top, I created a playful banner using various punches and hand-cut pieces layered over pink-and-white twine. To finish it off, I added epoxy hearts and a tiny "XOXO" banner fussy-cut from a 3 x 4 cut-apart.
I love how this layout came together—it's full of texture, dimension, and personality, just like the collection! I hope it inspires you to try something similar with your February products.
Happy crafting,
