Happy Spring Friends! I love the March mood board, it screams Spring happiness, sunshine, rainbows and new beginnings!
I was inspired to play up the rainbows and sunshine vibe and created three slim-line cards with the You are my Sunshine collection.
On my first card I used the rainbow patterned paper as a backdrop to my center embellishment of the bicycle Bella-pop. This cute bicycle reminds me of care-free childhood days where you just hop on the bike and 'go'! The destination was never planned but the journey was always full of adventure and possibilities!
The second card was created with the rainbow striped patterned paper. With some quick and easy cuts (using scissors) along the horizontal lines (but not cutting all the way from edge to edge) you can make some fun banners from the striped paper. I curled up the banner ends to create a light and airy feel. I used epoxy shapes to coordinate with each colour stripe for additional texture and dimension.
I love the repeating sentiment 'sunshine' on the patterned paper. Just imagine the happy lyrics "You are my sunshinemy only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away..." You'll notice I stopped the patterned paper just short to the top of the card. I wanted to create a visual runway of the butterflies (fussy cut from one of the patterned papers in the collection)to the top of the card to connect your eye to the sunshine/sentiments embellishment grouping.
