Hello, hello! Have you seen the new Our Love Song collection from Bella Blvd?! It's absolutely amazing! So many bright colors and icons. I love the roller-skates, music notes and the 90's vibes I'm getting from this collection! I'm sharing my very first layout I've created using this collection and it's of a picture of my 3 daughters at their choir concert. Seemed appropriate for the music theme in this collection!
To begin this layout, I started with the patterned paper 'I Love You', which is the adorable hearts paper and tore it across, exposing a white edge. I wanted to create an opening between the torn paper to add in ephemera! I grabbed a piece of white cardstock and cut it in half to adhere the torn patterned paper onto. I then used another piece of white cardstock to adhere each halves using foam adhesive so that I had that opening for the ephemera bits. The 'XOXO' patterned paper was perfect to add as strips between the white cardstock and the hearts patterned paper. I then added a simple stitch to give some texture.
I wanted a large title to span across the hearts background so I used the "You Make My Heart Sing" Cut Out from the 'You + Me' Cut Out pack. I simply backed the open letters with vellum so the heart pattern could shine through! I added my photo slightly tucked in behind the Cut Out and I was ready to embellish the layout!
To embellish the opening I created earlier, I grabbed the Ephemera Icons pack from the collection and laid out several pieces. I added in music notes, a microphone, a boom box, a cassette tape, a keyboard and many, many hearts. To help fill in the empty spaces, I used black Nuvo drops. I wanted to create a fun texture to the plain white cardstock that was above and below the patterned papers so I used a hearts punch and punched out so many hearts from the same white cardstock. I absolutely love this technique because it doesn't add more color to an already busy layout but gives the perfect touch!
