Hi everyone! I have a new layout and process video to share using Monsters & Friends – I love this collection and Halloween is my favourite thing to scrap! It is also Sketch Week so I'm using the sketch below.
The sketch has three photo blocks on it. I had two photos so for the third one I went looking for items from the Monsters & Friends Cut Apart sheets to use. I found a great square which contains three monsters and the phrase ‘night squad’. This was perfect for my third block.
I used an orange print paper from Monsters & Friends for my background, it has tone-on-tone stars on it and is just fabulous! I trimmed it down and distressed the edges and stuck it to a black background. I added my photo blocks and a strip of black & white polka dot paper, as represented by the sketch.
I then went looking for items to add to the embellishment clusters. I used two 2” squares from the cut-apart sheet and then added embellishments, for example a chipboard ghost and several flowers from the Ephemera.
For my title I wanted to use the Halloween chipboard title but it got lost in the dots of the background paper. To get around this I mounted it first onto a sheet of white Freehand Graph Bella Besties paper from the Monsters & Friends coordinating Bella Besties pack. I trimmed around it so it had a border and this helped it to stand out against the dots perfectly.
I added machine stitching through my title and around the edge of the layout. I also added black splatters of paint and handwrote my journaling. I finished off with some enamel stars.
Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this super spooky layout! There is a process video below, enjoy watching along!
Happy scrapping
