Bella Blvd Studio Blog: HALLOWEEN - Sketch Week + Monsters & Friends Week

Nathalie with you today to continue sharing more inspiration featuring this month's sketch and the super cute Monsters & Friends collection. This month's sketch is a fun one, and I think you are going to love its versatility and possibilities. Here is the sketch, Nikki created, we are using as inspiration:

I pulled a few pictures of my daughter almost 15 years ago to create this page:

I am using the Fun Facts paper as the base for my layout. All the small script create a neutral background for the page, since I am going to add saturated colored papers on top of it.

I decided to keep the square format of the photos (as per the sketch), and backed them with pieces from the Monster Party paper. Once the pictures were ready, I trimmed a piece of Bella Besties to create the paper layer in the sketch. Here is where I added my personal touch by adding a second layer of paper behind it, and adding the scalloped edge to the right of the layers.

Once the papers and photos were attached, I started to embellish following the sketch. I used a die to cut two webs from black cardstock, and placed as a background to the clusters of ephemera. Since the pictures are all about my daughter's kindergarden dance, I used the flower ephemera to create the clusters around the photo.

I decided to change the location of the journal lines, and the direction of the title. I used chipboard stickers from Monsters & Friends and Spooky & Sweet as well as Doohickey alpha stickers to complete the title work.

I decided to move my journal lines to the bottom of the paper strip, and then capped the corner of the paper with a chipboard sticker from Spooky & Sweet and stickers and enamel shapes from the Monster & Friends collection.
