I always make Valentine's Day cards to give to my family. I love pink, purple, and all the beautiful colors associated with Valentine's, but I wanted richer and non-gender cards this year. The Cooper collection has so many wonderful patterns, textures, and designs all to work great with my idea of using the Playing Cards cut file in the Silhouette Design Studio.
I picked tight patterns as well as contrasting patterns from Daily Details, Dog Park, Play Time, Dog Talk, Paws, and Borders. I kept the Play Cards cut file sized as is, except for the bottom or first layer of the cards. For that layer, I made it a little bit larger to see the edge of that color under the top layer.
The cut file cuts the numbers, the hearts, and the corners. I used corners on all the cards and used the numbers as well. For playing cards, that bottom number should be upside down, but I honestly forgot about it, so only my 6 of hearts card shows the correct way. They are still adorable no matter which way.
For the hearts though, I decided to use the Heart Hugs and Pickle Juice Mix to replace them to not only give my cards dimension but the Heart Hugs have sentiments on them that are perfect for my Valentine's cards.
I created a card panel for each card that would be a contrast, and then die cut a border of another contrasting pattern paper color.
From the Heart Hugs, I added the enamel dots to the corners of each card. I used twine from my stash to finish.
Grab the Playing Cards cut files, the Cooper collection, and Heart Hugs to create your own non-gender Valentine's Day cards. Happy Valentine's!
