it's Lisa here today and I'm sharing a "love" layout...
The declaration of love, is not to my boyfriend, my family of friends though... its' to my favorite drink, Coca-Cola... :)
The assignment this week was to use cut files, Bella Besties and a lot of hearts. I went through the cut files and found these older ones. The birds and the coke bottle. I thought that I would save the bottle for a later layout, but then this photo came to my mind, where I'm sitting on a spot at the Grand Canyons and drinking a Coke. I am totally addicted to that drink and so I thought it would be funny to use it on this layout with the hearts. :) I also wanted to add the birds to fill the page, and because they looked so cute. I found a cloud cut file in my Bella Blvd folder of my Silhouette library and used it to cut out two clouds.
So to start, I went through my papers, chose the ones that I liked, in blue, pink and red, cut out the pieces on my Silhouette and then put everything back together and adhered it (except the bottle of Cola) to a white sheet of paper. Then I cut the birds out, leaving a white border.
For my background, I did some mixed media in pink, red and white. While that was drying, I adhered my photo on some pieces of scraps of paper.
When the background was dry, I started adhering my pieces. I used foam tape, foam squares and regular glue to have these layers and dimension.
To give the different parts more dimension and interest, I added gray scribbly lines around the clouds and using gesso and some Magical Powders (pigments), I painted shadows and highlights on the birds and the coke bottle. I think this really gives the layout the amazing touches that makes it look so cool at the end.
For my title, I used the Aria puffy stickers. Since the layout, was supposed to have a lot of hearts, I used a ton of puffy heart stickers that I scattered in three different spots.
To finish the layout, I splattered some more paint and that was it. I love the end result, the colors are so cool and eye-catching.
