Hey friends,
it's Lisa back on the blog and today I'm sharing a new layout featuring the Cooper collection, the Bella Besties and the Cut-Outs :)
I went through the Cut-Outs first and chose this one, it's called Pie Charts. I wanted to show you a picture, because I totally cut it apart but it also looks amazing as it is :)
So as I needed to use the Cooper collection, which is a dog collection, and I don't have a dog, I wanted to use it without the dog parts. I went through the entire collection and took everything out that wasn't dog related. I used a red patterned paper with white hearts, a light blue paper with little blue bows and a light blue paper with clouds. Then I also chose some papers from the new Bella Besties. I chose the pink, white and dark blue ones.
I started to cut out a ton of little pie pieces that I wanted to use to back the cutfile pieces. The cutfile itself, I cut apart as to have 10 "pies". I backed each one with 4 different pieces of patterned paper and really love how it turned out. If you look closely, you can see that I didn't adhere the pieces exactly fitting the holes of the cutfile. I placed them slightly crooked, so that they would peak out from the sides. I really like that effect.
One of the Bella Pops had these adorable teeny tiny daisy-like flowers, white with a yellow center. I was inspired by those to create my own flowers and add them to each circle. I created them using white cardstock and for the centers, I used the matte enamel dots. Then I used a thin grey pen to trace a scribbly line around the borders. I attached them to the circles, using foam squares, after placing some matching tangled thread on the circle.
When I had all my pieces, I did some mixed media on a white sheet of cardstock. I used my gelatos because I wasn't in the mood for water, heating tool and warped paper... ;) but the effect is amazing too. Then I fussy-cut out a few clouds from the patterned paper. I started placing everything on my page, trying to create a cool and balanced look, placing some clouds behind and some in front of the circles.
Then I adhered everything using liquid glue and foam squares to create dimension.
For my picture, I used one I had done in January, when I was taking a walk in the snow. I thought the colors matched pretty well. I matted it with 6 layers of vellum and placed it next to the circles. The title, I wrote with the Aria puffy Alphas in three different colors.
Then I added final touches with some enamel dots, die-cut flowers and stars and three craft hearts. I also added the tiny Bella Pops flowers that had inspired this layout.
I really like how this layout turned out, the colors really pop and look so fresh and pretty.
Thank you for stopping by, see you soon,
