Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today for Cut Files Week and we are focusing on the lovely Bella Besties. I'm still obsessing over our one snow day last week so I just had to document another photo of that beautiful day! Here's my layout:
The Winter Love cut file was perfect for this page so I cut it using white textured cardstock on my Silhouette Cameo. I wanted to find a fun way to back it and to also display a lot of the Bella Besties Hearts and Ombre patterned paper. So I trimmed out thin strips of White, Peep, Blueberry, Punch, Plum and McIntosh and cut into them using my fringe scissors. I then took the positive pieces from the cut file and adhered the fringed strips down making sure to layer them on top of each other. I trimmed off the leftover fringe strips and backed each one to the cut file. I love how it turned out!
Here's another up close shot:
Next, I wanted to create a fun background so I went back to the Bella Blvd cut files in the Silhouette Design store and chose the Tiny Hearts Background. I cut it out on the Hearts and Ombre paper in Punch. I displayed the Ombre side and popped the entire thing up on foam dots. I love the dimension and shadows it created on my page. Before cutting it out, I sized it down to 11.5 x 11.5 so that when I adhered it to another piece of white cardstock, it would create a nice frame.
Next, I matted my photo using some scraps of the Hearts and Ombre papers. Since this was a wintery layout, I decided to use the Fa La La collection and pulled a few pieces to embellish with. I created a subtitle using one of the acrylic words and the Florence Alphas in Punch. The look on Luna's face is legit pure joy! She loved the snow so much! I also layered up some scalloped cardstock border stickers right under my photo cluster.
Next, I started creating embellishment clusters using the Ephemera Icons, Ciao Chip Chipboard and a few Epoxy Shapes. I am loving the snowmen and penguins in this collection. They're so cute!
I pulled out the adorable Bella Besties Trinkets Puffy Stickers in Punch, Peep & Cotton Candy as well as in White. I only used the flowers and added them into all of my clusters.
To finish off my layout, I splattered white acrylic paint all over the page and added white tangled thread under a few embellishments.
One of my favorite things of this layout is all of the texture and dimension. The Tiny Hearts Background is such a fun layering piece and would also make a great stencil for mixed media! Check out more of the Bella Blvd cut files here. There are so many to choose from and they're always adding new ones!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I've inspired you in some way! I love working with cut files and finding fun and creative ways to use them on a layout. Have you tried backing a cut file with fringe strips? If you don't have fringe scissors, just use your regular scissors and cut into each strip! This gives you even more freedom to create how thick or thin you want your fringe to be. I hope that you'll give it a try! Have a great week and I'll see you in my next post!
