Mood Board Layout | Maryam

Hey there Bella friends! This is Maryám and I'm so excited to be back here on the Bella Blvd blog today with a new project inspired by the December 2020 Mood Board that was revealed a few weeks ago.

First of all, let's start by taking a look at this month's mood board.

As you might have noticed already, this month we are all about Christmas! I have to say that I absolutely loved every single one of the images from this month’s mood board, but there was one who inspired my entire project for today which was the one with the Christmas stockings.

To begin my project, I started by cutting some sock shapes out of different my favorite pattern papers from the Falala Collection. I cut two pieces from each pattern paper, one with regular orientation and one mirrored. Once I had all base pieces cut, I decided to cut some detail pieces, out of pattern paper as well, to make the stockings look more interesting. I then used liquid adhesive to add the pieces in place and later added some machine stitching on the borders to make them look more realistic.

Now, to embellish the stockings, I started by adding some twine on the top to create a hanger. Next, right below where I had just added the twine, I punched a hole on both top and bottom stocking and added a brad. The reason behind adding a hanger and brad was to be able to hang the stocking on the tree later and at the same time be able to include a message, photo, or even a gift inside the stocking.

Counting with the embellishment process, I also added a felt bow to each of the stocking which I got from the Cute Clips Christmas Set, used some chipboard shapes from the Falala Collection as charms for extra fun, and last but not least, I added the initials in a big brown letter.

Winter & New Year Projects Week Day 3 | Allie

Whew! Is anyone else ready to see 2020 in the rearview mirror? I know I am! 

This week, I'm goal setting for 2021, and I wanted to be very intentional about it-- I wanted my goals to be God driven, God lead, and God inspired... so I decided to go through an older devotional about goal setting and create a Bible Journaling page! 

For this page, I dug through my stash of extra pieces and stickers--- because one of my goals for 2021 is to USE my stash instead of hoarding it! 

I created a "pocket" of sorts for several journaling cards and prayer cards-- to tuck them all in and keep my goals together-- out of a 3x4 cardstock card-- I love making these little pockets, and a 3x4 card on it's side is perfect! I just add glue to 3 of the 4 sides, punch a circle to make it easier to take them out, and boom, a perfect pocket.

Winter & New Year Projects Week Day | Sarah

Hello Bella Blvd friends! It's me Sarah again, and I'm hoping to bring you some fun blog inspiration today with a holiday, wintery layout. I can't believe Christmas is over, but it's still the holiday season right?! All holiday projects are still a go! 

I had a lot of fun working with the Fa La La collection, and I'm excited to share it with you all. Here goes!

Have you tried out the the awesome Bella Blvd Cut Outs yet? On this layout, I used the "Christmas" Cut Out from the Santa Squad collection, and it's just the cutest! I took a bunch of the bright and fun papers from the Fa La La collection and placed them behind each letter. I traced the letters, cut around them, and glued them to the back of each letter. Seriously, it doesn't get any easier than that. 

With the help of some Doohickey stickers and ephemera die cuts to embellish up those letters, it brought my layout together. Easy peasy, right?!

Winter & New Year Project Week Day 1 | Patricia

We are all looking forward to the end of 2020 and ready for a fresh start with 2021.  Even though the turn of the new year won't bring about all the change we want to see with leaving the bad of 2020 behind, we can still look forward to how and what we can do to make ourselves better.  For me it is definitely my health.  I am stronger, flexible, and energetic because of the promises I make to myself and having a plan and keeping that commitment in my mind helps.  This 2021 project uses a mix of Hearts & Ombre and Fa La La.

I started by applying a few drops of pink, yellow and green watercolors on a non-stick mat with water, then smooched the white cardstock into it to make my background.  Next, I used a combination of colors from the Aria Puffy Alphas and the Florence stickers to create 2021.  I layered and stitched strips of the Hearts & Ombre papers at angles and trimmed in place at the top and bottom. Then filled in white Florence Alphabet Stickers, die cuts, and Bella Pops.

For the right side, I printed and trimmed a photo with a lot of white space to add my rules I want to keep for 2021 to keep myself healthy.  Our Winters look more like Fall, either season is a time for old to pass and new to come.  I die cut a pocket and used the Hearts & Ombre Bell Paper for my journaling.

I stitched a Fa La La tab die cut to the top of it, and added more die cuts to the vellum envelope to finish.

National Thank You Note Day | Traci

Hi everyone! National Thank You Note Day is always on December 26th and reminds us of thanking people for their gifts, hospitality and generosity. It is a day to get some note cards, scrapbook supplies, stamps, and envelopes and send out some special handmade thank yous!

 

For my project, I made four easy cards using various Bella supplies.  I had so much fun mixing and matching the different paper collections!

 

 

My first card was super easy!  I just took a 4x6 card from the Squeeze the Day collection and adhered it to the front of my card base with some striped paper.  I also lined my envelope with a cute heart print from the collection.  Can't get much easier than that ... but so cute! 

 

For my next card, I used paper and ephemera from the Fa La La collection.  I used a circle die from Gina Marie Designs to cut out a half-circle on the right side of my white card base.  Then I used a scallop circle die from Echo Park to cut out the pretty blue pattern. I stamped the Thank You sentiment with a Doodle Stamp from the Many Thanks set. I think this card would be super cute to give to a neighbor!

 

For card #3, I used those same nesting scallop circle dies from Echo Park, and my favorite colors of Bella Besties to add some fun circles on the card base.  I cut the "thanks" word using the Doodle Cuts Many Thanks die set and a simple tree die cut finished up this colorful card nicely.

For my fourth card, I pulled out an older collection that is still one of my favorites, Cooper!  I know my dog loving friends will love to get this card.  I used an orange print from the 6x6 paper pad, a strip of flowers from a 6x6 sheet, some puppy and flower die cuts, and a 3 1/2" scallop circle punch.  The cute Thank You sentiment also came from the Doodlebug Many Thanks stamp set.

So if you have a few minutes today, pull out some of your favorite Bella supplies and make a card for someone!  Not only will you enjoy some crafty time, but the recipient of your handmade card will be blessed by your kindness.  Links to supplies are over on my blog at Artsy Albums.  Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Fa La La & Cut Outs Week Day 4 | Brianna Lepper

Hey crafty friends!  Merry Christmas Eve!!  I hope you all are having a safe and happy Holiday season!  It's Brianna here today sharing a fun Christmas layout using the amazing Cut-Outs and the new Fa La La collection!  I'll have a link to my process video down below, towards the end of this post.  I'd love it if you checked it out!  Here's my full layout, I had so much fun creating it.  

 

 

It's Cut Outs week over here at Bella Blvd and if you're not familiar with our Cut-Outs, they are pre-cut cut files! They even include instructions and templates on how to back them!  So if you don't own a die cutting machine or if you do and you're short on time or just don't want to fuss with the process, these are perfect to have on hand!  Bella offers a wide variety of Cut-Outs so you'll be able to find one for all types of themes.  For my layout today, I used the Christmas one and backed it using a mix of patterned papers from the Fa La La collection.  

 

 

Since the cut file is a title, the letters were super simple to trace and cut.  I ended up using the following papers to back each letter with:  Deck The Halls, All I Want For Christmas, Dear Santa, Daily Details, Hot Chocolate Weather, Christmas Village and Candy Striper.  I made sure to spread the colors/patterns out when I backed the Cut-Out so that it would look and flow nicely.  The colors and patterns are so pretty and fun!

 

 

I popped the entire Cut-Out on foam tape and set it aside to work on my background.  I wanted the Cut-Out and embellishments to pop off of the page so I went with a solid white cardstock as the base for my layout.  I did however, want a little bit of color added to it.  So I ran the cardstock through my sewing machine several times, using thread that matched the collection.  I sewed diagonal lines across the page creating a fun texture!  It was simple and it packs such a big punch.  

 

 

Next, I matted my photo with some scraps of the patterned papers I used to back the Cut-Out with and tucked in a Ciao Chip chipboard sticker underneath those layers.  I adhered it all down and pulled out some of the Ephemera Icons from the collection.  I added a group of trees right under my photo and added the cutest Santa Bella Pop right next to it.  

 

 

Since my Cut-Out was going to be my title, I decided to add onto it using the Aria Alphas in Guacamole, Peep, McIntosh and Bell Pepper.  The letters snuggled perfectly under that tree ephemera piece.  

 

 

Next, I added a few additional Ephemera Icons pieces around the page creating little clusters.  I also pulled out the Matte Enamels Festive Mix and Epoxy Wonderland Stickers and sprinkled those around my page as well.

I love the look of the thread underneath the Cut-Out.

 

 

I had so much fun creating this layout!  Using the Cut-Out for this page really did a lot of the work for me.  I was able to create this layout pretty quickly and it was so convenient.  Here's one more photo:

Fa La La & Cut Outs Week Day 3 | Lisa

Hey friends,

it's Lisa back on blog and today I'm sharing another cute layout, using the wonderful Fa La La collection.

The assignment for this week, was to use the Christmas collection, combined with one of the Bella Cut-Outs. I chose this CHRISTMAS one, which I really, really like. In that same package, you get two cute mistletoe cut files. I also used those and I think they turned out so cute!

To start, I went through the patterned papers and chose some that I wanted to use to back my Cut Outs. I really like the color combo in this collection, adding pink and light blue to the traditional red and green. 

For my background, I used a plain white cardstock sheet and, using a baby wipe, I created a whole bunch of different sized circles with gelatos. Then, I splattered white paint on top. 

I backed my photo using different scraps of patterned paper and added red photo corners from the sticker sheet.

I adhered my Cut Out to the background, using foam squares and then added the photo next to it. I also added the mistletoe pieces. I used a piece of a scalloped border sticker behind the right side of the photo. I LOOOVE scalloped borders! :)

The Cut Out is already a title by itself, but I wanted to add to it. So I used the amazing Aria Puffy Alphas in Punch, and Cotton Candy, to write the word "preparations" on top of the photo.

Then, to finish the layout and add some more cute details, I used some ephemera pieces, enamel stars and tangled thread. 

This layout came together so easy and turned out so cute. I really recommend using the Cut Outs and the new Fa La La collection. It makes the whole process so easy and you can't go wrong with the cool color combo and sweet embellishments in the collection.

Fa La La & Cut Outs Week Day 2 | Lauren

With such a crazy year everyone has had, I know how much we are all looking forward to 2020 being over. But for my little family this last little bit has been filled with so much magic if our new little bundle. He definitely has brought the Christmas spirit into our house and what better way to document that then with this absolutely adorable Bella Line along side my new favorite thing! Cut-outs! 

I have absolutely fallen in love with the new Bella cut-outs. They are so easy to use and add the perfect depth, dimension, and fun to your projects without having to add a ton of embellishments. 
I also like to add my own little spin on them when I am creating with them. Adding a doodlebug chunky twine boarder within the cut-out. It adds some more depth and gives it a little added pop. 




first I created my base using various papers from Fa La La. I wanted some contrast with the white of the cut-out as well as the papers used in the cut-out. I then followed the easy instructions on the cut-out to add each of my patterns inside each letter. Once I had the papers adhered to the cut-out I then used my chunky twine inside each letter. I used the fun ephemera pieces as well as some stickers to cover the openings from where the beginning and end of the twine in each letter is. 

Then I added all the fun pictures along the side that I wanted to showcase. I finished off the layout with embellishing using all the different and fun elements from this line.

Fa La La & Cut Outs Week Day 1 | Erica Thompson

Have you tried the new Bella Blvd Cut-Outs yet? I was super excited to see new designs released from Bella Blvd and one of my favorites is the Pie Charts Cut-Outs. This background cut out can be used for so many different layouts and I want to show you how I used it for a holiday layout. 

The pie chart reminded me of holiday candies and I thought it would be cute to back the file using some of the bella besties paper. For my background I used one of the new Hearts & Ombre besties and splashed some white acrylic paint before adhering my backed cut out. 

Adding white splatters helps to add some interest in the background so things do not look so flat. It also reminds me of snow which is perfect for a holiday layout. For my photos I punched them out using a 2 inch circle punch and popped them up around the page. I really love using circle photos and this cut file gave me the perfect spots to add my photos around the page. 

I added a few Fa La La embellishments to the center of the circles and any spots left open I used the beautiful matte enamel dots from Bella Blvd. These dots remind me of the candy dots and thought they would be perfect centers for the pie charts!
