Hey Everyone! This is Maryam and I am so excited to be back on the Bella Studio Blog. For today’s post, I am going to be sharing three slimline cards I made using the new Monsters & Friends Halloween collection.
You might have heard about slimline cards or seen them on social media before because they seem to be trending in the industry nowadays. But what are slimline cards? Slimline cards are long and narrow cards that fit into a #10 American letter-sized envelope. The most popular size is 3 5/8” x 8 5/8” inches but people usually round that down to 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″to make the cutting process easier. For my cards today, I went with the most used size, 3 5/8” x 8 5/8” inches, and cut the front panels to 3 3/8” x 8 3/8” inches.
For my first card, I decided to have some extra fun and create a shaker card. I started by cutting a piece of 3 3/8” x 8 3/8” inches of the Scary Cute Pattern Paper. Following up, I grabbed a metal die to cut out three circles which will serve as windows. I then back them with acetate, put some foam adhesive on the back, add the sequins, and then close the shaker windows with some white cardstock on the back. Next, to embellish the card, I used some cute little monsters from the Monsters & Friends Ephemera pack and popped them up with foam dots. For the sentiment, I stamped the word “hello” and finished up by adding some enamel dots and sequins.
For my second card, I decided to make something a little bit simpler. I started out by cutting some leaves out of Lil’ Pumpkins Pattern Paper with my silhouette cameo. Since the Lil’ Pumpkins Pattern Paper comes with a bunch of colored strips, it actually worked as if it was cardstock which allowed me to cut a bunch of different leaves all at once. Last but not least, to finish my card, I added my sentiment in a big white circle and then some sequins and enamel dots as a final touch.
In case you are wondering these are the cut files I used- 332244 Leafy Set, 332734 Fall Leaves.
For my last card, I used the Monster Party Pattern Paper and cut the front panel at the same size I did on my previous cards. Then, using my silhouette cameo, I cut the word “celebrate” from the 288174 Celebrate Word cut file on black cardstock and then a white outline to help the word stand out. To add some fun, I added “You did it” which I heat embossed on white and also some lilac thread on the back and a bunch of sequins and enamel dots around.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you liked the projects I shared and inspired you to create something new. Also, don’t forget that if you have any questions just leave me a comment or send me an email. I’ll be happy to help you.
Have an awesome day!
