Hello Bella Blvd Friends! I'm back to share a priceless memory I came across. How fitting is the Monsters & Friends collection for a plush ghost toy's birthday celebration! This plush toy was my daughter's everything, and he has been lost at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Disney World, or forgotten at home. We had to 'find' another one, he is retired, as a backup for our sanity. Halloween is a ghosts time of year, so here is how I used the collection to document this Halloween memory.
I started with the red Bella Besties Hearts and Ombre trimmed to fit on the left side. That ombre gives me a gorgeous backdrop for my photos, and journaling. I used the reverse side of the paper to show the hearts to matte my typed journaling. I left a little room on the inside to be able to stitch (before adhering this page) a die cut ghost tag, and then used the large October die cut and the Florence red alpha stickers for the date of my daughter's little friend's birthday. I finished this page with a few of the collections stickers and a heart hug.
My photos from the left start with my daughter 'lighting' the candles with a chopstick, Ghostie blowing out the candies, and her wishing him a Happy Birthday, so this right side needed to really be fun and festive. The Monsters & Friends coordinates perfectly with the Hearts and Ombre on the left. I started by using a background Bella Blvd cut file with hexagons and diagonal stripes to stencil red ink onto my background. Then I cut hexagons from more of the red Hearts and Ombre pattern paper and definitely made sure to use the little ghosts pattern paper from Monsters & Friends. Red and Aqua are a gorgeous combination.
Once that and my photo was in place, I started having friends join the party. I pulled out almost all of the ghost die cuts from Monsters & Friends. I placed all the grey ghosts together and the white all together, this helps to bring some repetition to my busy background. Next, I used the Aria and the Monsters & Friends alpha stickers for my title.
The last thing to do was give each ghost a treat to bring to the part, so I foam adhered more die cuts to each one, added epoxy stars, and also added the epoxy tiny ghosts to fill in. The more the merrier, right?!
Halloween with kids can bring so many amazing memories, not just from the 31st. Hope this gives you an idea of how to use Monsters & Friends and the Hearts and Ombre to document your stories.
