Hey scrappy friends,
it's Lisa on the blog today and I'm sharing a new layout I created with the monthly mood board as an inspiration.
I love the colors on the mood board and I knew right away that I wanted to use bright pink, orange and teal. I also thought the bird was really cute and since school is starting on Sept 15th in Luxembourg, I was also in the mood to create a back to school layout.
To start, I went through all of my Bella papers and chose the colors that were matching the colors of the mood board. I then started by tracing an apple, cutting it out and adhering it to white paper. I love having white borders on my creations. I think it makes them stand out of the page more.
Then I drew the cute bird from the mood board and chose a lot of different patterned papers to paper-piece him together. I really love how he turned out.
For my background, I chose a patterned paper from the Pop Quiz collection. I added some pink and orange to the page, using a wet baby wipe and my gelatos. I already had my apple and my bird but I also wanted to add pencils. I found three of them in the Pop Quiz collection and then I created three by myself, using pink and orange papers.
I started placing all of my elements on the page, trying out different options until I found the perfect one.
The photo that I chose was one we took at the beginning of last school year. I matted it with a lot of different scraps of paper and also added chipboard and ephemera pieces from the Pop Quiz collection.
For my title, I used the new Aria puffy alphas, the Florence alphas and also chipboard letters saying 'SCHOOL'. The letters were white, so to make them stand out more from the (almost) white background, I added some pink to the borders. I LOVE how that looks!!
To finish the layout, I added some enamel hearts and some splatters.
I hope you are inspired by the mood board too, it's really cute!!
Thank you so much for stopping by,
see you soon,
