Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here sharing a new layout that was inspired by the gorgeous August Mood Board. Look how awesome this mood board is! The color palette is amazing and it's so fun and Summery!
Here's my layout, I used the Squeeze The Day collection:
When I first saw the mood board I was immediately inspired by the rainbow of colors and the top middle photo with the small strips of paper with gold bits mixed in. I thought I could recreate it by painting on some color using some Shimmerz Paints from my stash. For the gold, I thought I could run it through my sewing machine using gold thread. So with that in mind, I got started on my background and took out my Shimmerz sprays and applied them onto a piece of thick white cardstock in rainbow order. I made sure to prep the cardstock with gesso ahead of time. This helped the colors run and blend together instead of being absorbed right away.
Next, I started adding on the stitching. For each row, I alternated using a plain running stitch and a zig zag stitch. I love the extra interest and shine this gave my background.
Since my background was finished, I got to work on the rest of my layout. I was inspired by the center square on the mood board and chose the Bella Soak Up The Sunshine cut file as my title. I cut it on a piece of textured white cardstock on my Silhouette Cameo and backed it using the Orange You Glad 12x12 patterned paper from the collection. The mood board had pops of black on it and I thought the black and white polka dot pattern was perfect for the cut file. It totally pops on top of all that color!
Next, I adhered the backed cut file onto my background and got to work on embellishing. The mood board has pineapples and so does the Squeeze The Day collection so it was even more perfect for this layout. I pulled a few from the Ephemera Icons pack and layered them up under my photo. Then I added a few hearts and an epoxy flower to that cluster. I also found a cute Ephemera Word and layered that on top of my photo.
For the bottom portion of my layout, I wanted a larger piece since my photo and the first embellishment cluster were at the top of my page. I ended up fussy cutting this group of fruit from one of the cut outs on the Daily Details 12x12 patterned paper. It was the perfect size and of course had another adorable pineapple on it!
Next, I added a few Ephemera Words making sure to pull a black and white piece to add some black in that cluster. In doing so, it balanced out the whole page and brought everything together. Then I added a few Epoxy Florals and Hearts to finish off that cluster. Lastly, I splattered some white acrylic paint and Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine. And that was it!
I had so much fun creating this layout using the mood board as inspiration. There are so many fun, bright and happy elements to it! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope I've inspired you in some way. See you next time!
