Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here sharing a new layout using the new Aria Puffy Alphabet stickers along with the Pop Quiz collection. Since my boys are starting school next week, I thought it would be fun to create a back to school themed layout using their first day photos from last year. Here's what I created:
When I went through the Pop Quiz 12x12 patterned papers, I was completely inspired by the Get To Class paper with hexagons all over it. I thought I could cut into it and use a large portion of it for my photos to sit on. I fussy cut around some of the hexagons to give it some interest and love how it turned out.
Next, I wanted to create a mixed media background so I prepped a piece of thick white cardstock with clear gesso and sprayed on some Shimmerz Paints sprays in blue, green, yellow and red. I wanted to match the colors in the collection. I sprayed some water onto the page and let the colors run and blend. I added a few splatters of color to give it a watercolor look as well.
Once my mixed media was finished drying, I added a piece of the Goofing Off paper to the top of the page and then added the hexagon paper right on top of that, making sure to pop it up on foam adhesive to give my page more dimension. I added a few stickers from the Word Salad booklet keeping in line with the tone on tone colors from the mixed media colors. I also added a few splatters of color to the top of the page as well!
Next, I added some paper layers to my photos using the cut aparts from the Daily Details paper. I embellished around them using the Ciao Chips, Cardstock Stickers and Ephemera Icons from the collection. I love tucking things in and adding foam dots to my clusters.
Here's another look at one of the other clusters:
For my title, I used the new Aria Puffy Alphas in Ice, Guacamole, Bell Pepper and McIntosh. I added the words in going with the tone on tone look and then ran them through my sewing machine to give them some interest and texture. I also added some stars using the Puffy Star stickers as well as the Acrylic Shapes.
I didn't have yellow Puffy Stars so I improvised and took my tiny star punch and punched out stars using the 6x6 Bella Besties paper pad.
Lastly, I typed and printed out some journaling on my computer and trimmed and adhered it all down. That completed my layout!
This school year is definitely starting out way different than expected but we are going in with positive attitudes and we will handle anything thrown our way! I had so much fun creating this layout and was happy that I was finally able to document this past school years photos. I hope y'all are staying safe and if your kiddos are starting school this month, whether it's virtual learning, in person or both (like us), I wish y'all the best! Thank you so much for being here and I'll see you in my next post!
