Hello Bella Blvd Friends! It is super hot here in Louisiana and the new August Mood Board captures the heat of Summer with playful bright colors and lots of yummy textures. Today, I'm sharing a Traveler's Notebook project and how the Mood Board inspired me.
That top middle photo really kept catching my eye. So I grabbed my watercolors in pink, yellow, and aqua, along with my paint in sky blue, my black paint with a fine tip applicator and started my background on white textured cardstock. After creating random quick-stroke brushes/lines of color across my page, I scribbled the black paint with the fine tip applicator, then trimmed small strips of Squeeze the Day pattern papers, added black machine stitching and adhered to my background.
I kept this look at the bottom 3/4" of both of my pages. Inspired by those painted rocks, I freehand cut more Squeeze the Day pattern paper, added more black machine stitching, and then added Splash Zone Ephemera Words and Acrylic Shapes Stars Mix. I cropped my photos to 2" or less in height, and 4" wide to go along with the long horizontal design I created, again inspired by the Mood Board.
To continue the pops of black and mixed media look throughout this colorful spread, I used a black Sharpie pen to create a messy border around all of my photos. I added two photos to the right side, with plenty of room to create a colorful and mixed font title using the new Aria Puffy Stickers, the Florence Stickers, and the Wonky Alpha Puffy Stickers. I can't wait for you to start playing with the new Aria stickers!
To finish my colorful spread and tie in my Summer/Beach theme, I added more Splash Zone Ephemera, acrylic Stars, and chipboard.
I will miss Summer, but this Mood Board has so many possibilities to start documenting those past and/or current memories! Happy Creating!!!
Love this!
