Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here with you today with a Summer layout inspired by the July mood board and boy, is it a great one!!! All things Summer with a beautiful and bright color scheme, this mood board will surely get your creative juices flowing!
Here's my layout! I used the Splash Zone collection and love how it turned out!
When I first saw the mood board, the photo with the sailboat immediately caught my eye. The beautiful water with it's aqua and blue hues is so pretty and I knew right away I would create a mixed media background inspired by that water. First, I prepped a piece of thick white cardstock with some gesso and used the Fish stencil designed by Paige Evans and spread some modeling paste through it. Once all of my fish were dry, I got out several of my Distress Oxides in different shades of blue and painted on some color. Next, I rubbed on some Stickles to a few fish to make them sparkle as if the sun was shining through the water.
I tried to keep the darker tones of blue towards the bottom of my page, with the lighter blues at the top. You can spot some of the sparkle from the Stickles down below. Subtle yet still sparkly!
Next, I started working on the rest of my layout. I chose the Boats Waves & Sun Rays cut file that you can find here. Make sure to check out the newly released Bella cut files, a bunch of new ones were just added! I cut it out on a piece of white cardstock and backed it using the 12x12 patterned papers from the collection.
Next, I matted my photo using a piece of the Bella Bestie 6x6 paper pad in Bell Pepper and tucked it under the cut file. Then, I created embellishment clusters to the left and bottom of my photo.
For my first cluster, I took the banner flags from the Ephemera Word pack and placed them upside down underneath a sun piece from the Ciao Chip sticker sheet. I added in some of the large leaves from the Ephemera Icons pack and tucked those in my cluster as well. Next, I found a tab piece in the Ephemera Words pack and tucked that under my photo and added a sticker from the Word Salad Booklet.
For my second cluster, I thought the chipboard Flamingo sticker was adorable and perfect to tuck in right underneath my photo. It also went with the floaties from the mood board as well! I added a few Ephemera Icon pieces to my layers and tangled some thread underneath them. For my journaling, I used a Gift Tag and strung some pom pom trim from my stash through it.
I added some Puffy Stars and some blue enamel dots from the Heart Hugs pack to both clusters to finish off my layout.
I love how this one turned out! The mixed media underneath the big and bold cut file that I used for my title was perfect! I hope I've inspired you in some way today and I encourage y'all to use this awesome mood board to create your next project. See you next time!
