Happy National Day Bella Blvd Friends!!! Besides Traveler's Notebook size scrapbooking, I love 6x8 layouts with pockets. I get my love of layouts with the addition of pockets to help tell the story more. When working with the smaller scale, using the large 12x12 and 6x6 pattern papers creates a nice contrast. For my first 4x6 pocket on the left, I used a 6x6 Squeeze the Day paper to create the base of my card, then layered more 6x6 trimmed paper over it. Next, I layered Squeeze the Day ephemera Icons and Splash Zone Ephemera. To go along with my story of our family at the zoo, I added the Outdoors Pennant.
I used a larger photo in the bottom 4x6 pocket, trimming it a little bit smaller to layer pattern paper and stickers to frame it, and then added a cluster of ephemera and an epoxy heart. All of this helps break up the large photo and give it more color.
My right side is the 6x8 layout. I used the larger scale of the same black pattern paper I used on the left to back my white background. For the background of my layout, I used the Squeeze the Day hearts cut file, duplicating it to create a larger pattern, then backed several of the hearts with the 6x6 Squeeze the Day Paper Pad.
Before adhering anything, I pencil where I want my journaling, send it through the typewriter to type it up, then begin adhering everything into place. I used more of the Splash Zone and Squeeze the Day Ephemera, and then finished it off with a Black & White Heart Hugs and an acrylic word.
Hope this gives you more ideas of how to incorporate mixing the different scales of the 12x12 and 6x6 pattern papers, how to create a layout with the addition of pockets, and using and altering the Bella Blvd cut files to create the design you want! Happy NSD friends!!!
