Hey friends,
it's Lisa on the blog for iNSD and I'm really happy to share this new layout with you.
I wanted to create something really bright and fun and full of colors, to represent the happiness, scrapbooking brings us every day. So I chose rainbow colors and flowers :)
Actually, I didn't do this layout alone... I organized a private scrappy group and I live-streamed my work, while my friends recreated the same layout with the stuff they had at home. We chatted via a video meeting site and we really had a lot of fun. :)
So to start, I went through my Bella Besties papers and chose six colors for my rainbow. I cut strips of 2x12 inches and arranged them on my paper. I know, the purple color should come on the bottom, but it didn't look good next to the teal. So I placed it above the pink :)
Then I wanted to brighten up the whole page and create a lot of dimensional white flowers. The creation of these flowers is very easy. I cut out 10 squares of three different sizes; big, middle, small. Then I placed 3 squares on top of each other and cut out a weird wonky flower shape. A bit like a sunny side up egg... :) I took 3 each time, too make it go faster, but you can of course, cut them one by one.
When I had my 30 wonky shapes, I took each one and, with my fingers, I pressed the center down so that the flower would get dimension, with the "petals" bending upwards. I then distressed the edges and adhered them together using glue dots, starting with the big one and placing the middle one and the small one on top. For my center, I created cute irregular circles and adhered them to the flowers, after placing a bit of tangled thread underneath them.
To start the wreath and give myself a base to adhere the flowers to, I painted a faded white circle using white gesso. I also sprinkled some white paint all over the page. I let it dry and then started placing my flowers. When I had them as I liked, I chose a photo and matted it with some scraps of the Bella Besties papers, I had left.
I adhered everything to the layout and then I went through all of my embellishments to choose some things to add.
I added a few elements to the wreath, like the chipboard heart and cherries, the ephemera leaves and yellow flower and some enamel hearts. Next to the photo, I used this cool scalloped border sticker. As my title, I chose a white chipboard sticker and I added some orange Florence alphas.
To finish, I sprinkled some more white splatters and I created a wonky frame with my white acrylic marker.
I hope you are inspired to create something with a rainbow background or to make some paper flowers.
Thank you so much for visiting the Bella Blvd blog and have a great, amazing, scrappy and creative weekend! :)
See you soon!
