Who doesn’t love getting happy mail? I know I do! This week our projects are inspired by a wonderful mood board full of cheerful colors, happiness, and spring vibes. So I thought creating some happy mail inspired by these things is perfect especially with the current situation in the world around us. Here are my cards for the perfect happy mail to brighten people’s days in these uncertain and dark times:
Making cards is one of my favorite forms of paper crafting and these Bella products make it so easy! I utilized the 6x6 squeeze the day and Bella Besties pads time make all 4 cards. To begin I cut my base at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and score in half. Then I cut my first mat at 5 1/4 x 4 leaving a small board but still leaving lots of the pattern showing. I then chose which elements I wanted for the kinds of cards I wanted to create. Positive, happy, and light hearted.
From there I began to layer, layer, layer. One of the best things about cards is with such a small space all you need a few layers and a couple embellishments to say exactly what you want. Keeping it sweet and simple, yet oh so cute!
When layering cards I usually stick to trimming each layer down 1/4” or 1/2”. It gives great dimension but also doesn’t take away from your patterns and elements you want to highlight.
Once I get all my mats and layers done. I chose my embellishments to coordinate with each card from the Squeeze the Day ephemera icons and ephemera words. I also added some of the adorable heart enamels for some extra color and dimension.
Squeeze the day is perfect for cards and creating some happy mail with all the different fun and sweet sentiments.
