Sweet Friends - Bella Besties Digital Collection

Hi there! Tya here! I am so excited to be up on the blog today sharing with you my latest digital scrapbooking layout. This week as a design team we are focusing on the adorable "Bella Besties" collection. This collection won't be released in digital format until later on in the year - so this is a little sneak peek for you! 

I thought it would be fitting since the line is called "Bella Besties" to create a friend themed layout. These cute photos are throwback photos of my daughter and her oldest best friend from when she was 7 years old. These photos bring back such fun memories for me and my daughter. There is nothing quite like your first best friend. 

I used several of the papers from the Bella Besties Freehand collection to create this layout. As you can see there is a dot side and a graph side. I used a mix of both on my layout. The hearts are created easily by using a clipping mask over a heart shape and then layering them on your layout. They become almost like a digital version of a die-cut! So so easy to do!

Besties combined with Cut Files

All this week the team is working with the new Bella Besties patterned papers. One of my favorite things about these new papers is that they can work for any season! As fall approaches I had an itching to create a fall-themed layout but I didn't have any specifically fall-themed products on hand. Bella Besties combined perfectly with some Bella Blvd cut files to make my theme come together! Christine joining you today with a Fall Family layout, let's take a look!

Bella Blvd has a lot of what I would consider "signature shapes" like the tree I used here! As soon as I see that tree with the chunky limbs and circles, I know it's a Bella Blvd design. When I started playing with it, I set out to make a card.  But the file came up full size on my screen and I knew I couldn't pass up the chance to use it on a layout. I love how it's a focal point but still involves the pictures!

I opted to cut the circles in Besties papers in colors that coordinated well with my pictures AND worked for fall. I also used a colorful Bestie page for my base. I know a lot of people like white for backgrounds and I definitely do too, but I really love a colorful background. So when I set my tree up against the Pickle Juice green paper, I was thrilled to see it worked really well AND complimented my pictures nicely too!

My title is composed of both a Bella Blvd cut file - to make the nice big "Blessed" and some Florence Alphabet!

To add some texture and a different shape, I went to some of Bella Blvd's heart-shaped products. The combination of White Heart Hugs with Puffy Sticker hearts in coordinating colors worked perfectly for the feel of the layout.

Finally, some enamel dots from the Heart Hugs sheets were my final touch to each colored circle. This layout came together fast and is pretty simple but I love the way it captures some family portraits and tells our colorful story!  Check out my process video below to learn more about how I put it all together!

GUEST DESIGNER: Maryam Perez

Hello everyone! This is Maryám Pérez and I’m so happy to be back on the Bella BLVD blog today as the September 2019 Guest Designer. For today’s post, I’m going to be working with the super fun Splash Zone Collection.

One of my favorite things about this collection is how bright and colorful it is! I just love the fact that you can create rainbow pages super easily. Any color lovers here?! :)

For my first project, I created an 8 ½” x 11” inches layout. I started by hand stitching around the circles from the Word Jumble paper with color coordinating embroidery thread and then fussy cut each of them. Next, I put the circles, the photo, the journaling, and I added some embellishments to my page.

 

For my second the second project, I created a spread on my traveler’s notebook. If you have never tried this format before, I recommend you do it! Since it’s a smaller format, it’s much easier to create something on it, and for those of you who feel a little bit intimidated by the 12x12 layouts, this is just the perfect size.

I love the patterned papers from this collection and I really wanted to find a way to use them all, so what I did was to cut a stripes of different papers and the use paper weaving technique to create a background which I ended up cutting and put one half on one side and one in the other.

Squeeze the Day Mini by Kim Watson

I am happy to close off 'cut file week' with this cool idea. Do you know that the the Bella Blvd's Silhouette store is bursting with the coolest cut files? I grabbed a few that coordinate with Bella's latest collection, 'Squeeze the Day', and created this mini book.

The idea was to take some of the fruit shapes and create shaped pages, filled with sweet goodness :) Here are some details from my creative process. 

 

Using the 6x6 paper pads, I cut a variety of pages. I created white offset outlines with patterned fills. 

 

2" and 2.5" photos, mounted onto patterned paper and decorated with die cuts, enamel stickers, word stickers & washi tape, make each page a riot of color. 

The NEW matte finish enamel dots, glossy enamel hearts and washi tape make building these pages so much fun. The cool thing is, by using washi tape to attach the photos, means you can lift them like little flaps, making room for more photos underneath.

This little mini book has place for x16 photos! 

 

Punched through the top leaf on each page & attached to a jump ring, the mini book looks fabulous assembled. A DIY, colored, twine tassel slipped onto the ring, finishes it off perfectly.

Card with Die Cuts

Hi eveyone! Corri here today share a couple for quick cards I made with of the fun cut files from the Silhouette Store.  For my first card, I cut the two little pears. I used paper from the Bella Besties Collection and from the Squeeze the Day collection.

 

I created the sentiment using the print and cut feature in the Silhouette Studio software. This is a fun way to customize your sentiment and there are so many fonts to choose from! 

For my second card, I cut the rainbow and used the print and cut feature to add my sentiment. I backed my cut file with some perfectly coordinated paper from the Squeeze the Day Collection.

No Grass Stains - No Glory | Bella Blvd Digital Layout

Hello! It's Tya and it's my turn up on the blog today! I am sharing my latest digital scrapbooking layout with you. Any soccer moms out there? My youngest daughter has been playing soccer for almost 10 years and is now nearing the end of her high school soccer season. It is a bittersweet memory but one that needs to be shared. I am so proud of her and for all of her hard work and will miss watching her play with her high school team that she has been on since she was a freshman. Here is the digital layout that I created using the awesome "Soccer" digital collection.

 

 

I loved the colors and the fun icons and sayings in this collection. I enlarged the "No Grass Stains, No Glory" sentiment and used it for my title. I thought it was fitting these action shots of my little soccer star! That's the great thing about digital is I can resize elements to fit my needs and make the scale of elements different for different effects that I want to achieve.
