Hi everyone. Heather Leopard is here and I'll be talking about Bella's new cut files. If you haven't seen them yet you need to run over to the Silhouette store ASAP but first, check out how I used a few of my favorite ones - Unicorn Floatie (Silhouette or SVG), Sun & Clouds (Silhouette or SVG) and Clouds (Silhouette or SVG).
When I'm working with cut files, I always create a sketch so to speak. I drew a box for a 3x3 photo and then added the clouds and the floatie files. I then sized some up and some down until I liked the way everything fit. I do this so I have a visual of the layout but also so that I'm guaranteed everything will fit on the page. The photo above shows how I drew it up.
To create this layout I made a cluster of clouds using different Bella Blvd cloud cut files. First, I deconstructed them a bit and created internal offset so that I could outline them. Then I welded them and erased a few cloud likes so they layered in the order I preferred.
I did this for the unicorn floatie as well. The difference between the unicorn floatie and the clouds is that I kept those as one cluster but for the unicorn, I kept the bits separate so that I could pop some up using foam dots. I felt this gal needed some dimension.
Lastly, I added some extra splashes of water using watered down white paint and enamel doodads, a title and additional chipboard and ephemera embellishments.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a great rest of your day.
