With Splash Zone having so many fun water-related products, it would be easy to overlook the regular summer products in there too! Today I wanted to take the time to highlight those, specifically the pineapples and plants :). Christine joining you today with a layout that is "As Sweet As a Pineapple."
As I was looking through the Splash Zone cut files, the pineapple jumped out at me! It's such an easy design to back with patterned paper and make it stand out! Having decided that I wanted to play with that, I built my layout around it! I cut it out and added foam adhesives to the white border. Then I added my patterned paper triangles also with foam adhesives underneath them. I LOVE how it turned out and how it gives you the opportunity to use several of the fun papers!
While I used four different papers in the actual pineapple, I opted to just make the leaves for it one color. At first, I thought I'd do white but it didn't pop as I wanted it to, so I went with the Pickle Juice green instead!
I built my layers on the layout using the same patterned papers. First, I offset my white base onto the sunshine patterned paper to form the entire base. Then I used the other three colors beneath my picture, adding in some tearing and distressing!
Stickers and ephemera and acrylic pieces and Ciao Chip took center stage for embellishing. I love how seamlessly they all combine to help you pull a project together with interesting texture and dimension.
Let's take a close-up look at how this all came together in a process video:
