Hello, Bella Blvd. friends! Tessa Buys here. I LOVE the Plaid and Dotty collection because it is so bold! I can choose one color, create a palette, or even create a rainbow like I did on this layout of my daughter:
I could have pulled blues and grays to match the photo, but this girl's personality, and the "brave" theme of the page called for lots of color! I cut 1.5 inch x 5-5.5 inch strips of each color, as well as solid pieces of cardstock in similar sizes.
After splattering the background with a rainbow of sparkly watercolor, I overlapped all the patterned and solid pieces of paper across the center. I rolled all of the edges and turn down corners of several strips, revealing the dotty pattern on the back.
I added my photo and title, as well as a big teal bow, then embellished with color-coordinated puffy heart stickers. I added a few A's (Addie's monogram), as well.
Next, I added horizontal, overlapping strips of plaid at the bottom of the page and dotty at the top, in the same rainbow order as the center strips. Last, I journaled in pen and added a few black splatters to tie in my ink color.
Just looking at this colorful page makes me feel happy! I'm so glad I have such awesome basics on hand to pull off a page like this. If you don't have the Plaid and Dotty collection in your stash, I encourage you to pick it up! Happy creating!
