Hello! Tessa here with a layout celebrating National Ride the Wind Day! On August 23rd we commemorate the anniversary of the first human-powered flight to win the Kremer prize. Enthusiasts suggest that if you can't get out and take flight in a human-powered aircraft to celebrate, flying a kite was perfectly acceptable. Well, that's what this layout is all about!
Kites are one of our favorite toys to take to the beach. These photos of my son flying his kite during our last beach trip make me happy, and I have to say - the colors and patterns of the Island Escape collection make me just as happy!
In order to use several patterns, I cut long strips of four patterned papers at various lengths and stacked them on my page. I curled up the bottom edges a bit and added a few swipes of yellow paint as well.
A little pink pom pom trim peeking out from a few strips gives the page even more texture.
And since we're talking about kites, I was sure to make one to embellish my layout. I purposely placed the kite to draw your eye to my title, and the kite's string brings attention to my focal photo.
Happy Ride the Wind Day! If you have the chance, celebrate with a layout - Bella Blvd. style!
Island Escape patterned paper, Island Escape chipboard icons, Illustrated Faith paint, Blueberry Wonky Alphabet stickers
Beautiful layering on this fun festive layout. Thanks for the inspiration.
