Bible Journaling with Bug Explorer

Welcome to a new week, friends!  Is it just me, or as soon as you lie down to sleep, do you have instant crafty inspiration?!  That always seems to be me!  Well this page was no exception, and a lack of sleep followed me into the new week.

 

My son and I do a word a day on the way to daycare every morning, and recently we have been focusing on animals.  We've been through about 10 thus far, and each day I'm so amazed at how enthralled my son is with learning each animal's characteristics.  Isn't God's handiwork amazing?!  So to honor those moments, I wanted to thank God for His beautiful creatures in my Bible.

Made By Grace and Love

 

For this Bible journaling page, I chose the verse 1 Cor. 15:10.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect.  No, I worked harder than all of them - yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me."

I wanted to represent this verse with the amazing brushed script clear stickers and lots of dimension.  It has become my trademark to have lots and lots of dimension in my Bible pages, so you can image how fat my little Bibles tend to get.  That doesn't bug me in the slightest!

For this page I began by punching out circles and folding in the edges.  After adding some acrylic paint to the background, I arranged them about the page.  I added my title and embellished with a foam ampersand and heart!  Lastly I added my favorite Illustrated Faith embellishment, enamel hearts!  I have never done this in past years, but with this Bible I have been adding my tab last or not at all.  With this particular page I simply folded some peach seem binding and stapled it.  A little tip, I do like to prep the back of the page with two strips of washi tape, to keep the tab from tearing off when using staples.

Mountain Mover

Good morning everyone! 

Im here to share a new layout with you that I made using the beautiful All People All Nations collection. I love the color combo in this collection! The bright pinks, teals and yellows and then the navy add in, its just all so beautiful!

I had these two goofy pictures of one of my daughters, she loves to pose and is so quirky, but on top of all of that she is just a bright soul! She is interested in so many things and wants to constantly learn more and more. 

I love the paper that says Hope on it, the florals and colors are amazing so I wanted to use it for the majority of my background and I started knowing that, so I placed it on 3/4 of the layout.

After I got that down, I started with deciding how I wanted my pictures placed and then adding in the layers that I wanted to use. I grabbed the Boarders and 3x4's paper and started to cut it up for layers. I started placing the papers here and there behind my photos and added some of the tip-ins in with the layers. I grabbed a little white envelope from my stash and added it in to the layers too and then grabbed some of the florals from the ephemera pack and popped them in between some of the layers.

Finishing off my layout, I added my title, the beautiful Brushed words and then grabbed the words cardstock sticker booklet and added some of the little sayings around my layout. When I got to this point, I decided that I wanted a little more of a contrast between my background and white cardstock, so from the boarders and 3x4's paper I cut a strip of the navy diagonal strip and added it along the edge if the patterned paper and was done.

100% Awesome Dad

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a layout I made with the Dad Style Collection.  My inspiration for this project came from the collection itself.  I love the pie chart and sentiment on the 2" x 2" card on the Daily Details sheet so much that I based my design on it. 

The base for my page is the opposite side of the Grandpa's Pocketwatch sheet.  The pie chart and title were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.   I used a couple of patterns from the Dailey Details sheet on my pie chart.  In order to make sure those shapes would fit on the paper, I first cut the shape out of a scrap piece  and then positioned my small pattern paper on the mat using the negative as a guide.  This really helps to avoid wasting a precious piece of your favorite pattern. 

I added a vew embellishments from the Sticky Mix Stickers pack and  the Ephemera Die Cuts pack along with a trio of Puffy Hearts.

3 Generations of Fathers

Good Morning, friends!  Today I wanted to share a layout I created to honor three generations of father's on my husband's side.  I think this is the only photo we have of them all three together, and I just really love it!

 

For this layout I had no idea as to where it would go; I just started with painting on a few stripes of messy paint, and the layout took shape after that!  I added a few strips of paper from the border sheet in the Dad Style collection and stitched away!

I finished off the layering with some stamping; I used the little star stamp from the Illustrated Faith Advent collection.  This layout was easy-peasy, and I love when a layout comes together without any fuss!

Perfect Shot

Good morning everyone! I'm here this morning to share a fun new layout with you of my youngest son and one his favorite things to do! Archery! He loves to use his bow and his BB gun and hes great at it!

I chose my background, the black and white crosses and then moved to the bright stripped paper. I cut a strip of that and places it down to have a guide line to where I wanted my photos to go. I matted my photos with white cardstock and started to cut my layers for behind them.

I cut the layers in to pennants and decided this was where I wanted to place my title. I knew I wanted to use some more of my acrylic words and the perfect went, well perfectly! lol  So I used that, the color was perfect and then I added the rest of my title in with some of the wonky alphas and I thought I looked pretty good, so I moved on to adding embellishments! One of my favorite parts!

Since the left side of my layout was where I places my photos and title I thought I would add some cute embellishments to the right side. I used some of the stickers from the sticker sheet and popped them up on some 3D foam, I placed an epoxy circle sticker over the top of a piece of paper I had punched out and layered with one of the die-cut ants, layered a few leaves here and there. Then I decided to add a few hearts in and an arrow and punched a few small circles out and places them where I wanted and was done with this layout.

Special Surprises for Special People

This week at Bella Blvd it was all about remembering the people in our lives that make an impact!  I truly am so blessed and beyond grateful for a few special ladies in my life.  I was able to host a Bible journaling getaway, and it was such an honor to be surrounded by such talented and caring ladies!  We laughed, we cried, and we learned so much about what it means to be a friend!  A good friend teaches us how to encourage, love, and flourish!

It just so happened that one of those ladies would be celebrating their birthday while we were there!  Her gal friends call her their unicorn because of her brightly colored hair, and we knew we wanted to get her an over the top unicorn cake.  I wasn't able to find any unicorn cakes where I live, so I set about baking one myself.  I'm fairly certain I haven't baked anything in the last 4 years, so no promises as to how it might turn out.

I began by drawing out the templates that I would use for the topper onto white cardstock.  I then used those templates to create a horn, ears, and eyelashes from the Make Your Mark collection.  This could be made easier with an electronic cutting machine; however, I was traveling, so I did not have access to one.  When in doubt a pair of scissors and a pencil do just the trick!  I picked out most of the florals from the ephemera pack as well to place around the ears and horn. Lastly I adhered toothpicks to the back with washi tape.

Now comes the hard part ... the baking!  I pulled out my Make Your Mark goodies on the kitchen counter so that I could color match my cake layers.

After I finished baking my layers, I slathered on my layers of icing and put on my topper!  I then stuck on my eyelashes with icing.  I think the cake turned out pretty cute, and that was all thanks to the Make Your Mark collection and those beautiful florals!

I'm so glad I was able to honor a special friend that weekend on her birthday, and I hope you're encouraged to create something out of the box for the special people in your life xo Lydia
