Hi! This is Sabrina from the Bella Blvd Digital Team. I'm back again to give you helpful tips and tools to be successful at digital scrapbooking. This time I have some quick organizing idea when it comes to organizing all your digital scrapbook supplies. Then you can get back to shopping Bella Blvd's amazing digital shop sale!
Once you have made a purchase from the Bella Blvd digital shop you will get the downloads. You then go into the download section on your computer (I use a PC.) and click extract files to start extracting all your new kit pieces.
After this step is successfully completed you will have a folder that look likes this:
I then take all the files and compile them into one folder. The only exception is alphabets in collections. I keep those in there own separate folder inside of the collection folder.
I then relabel the folder so the Bella Blvd collection bundles will be alphabetized. So the Alex Bundle becomes Alex-Bella Blvd and Illustrated Faith Seeds of Faith becomes IF-Seeds of Faith
Having all the pieces of one collection all in one folder makes digital scrapbooking faster and also easier when looking for many pieces to complete a page. Everything I need to complete a page is right there in one spot. So simple and easy to organize
your digital scrapbooking pieces and collection bundles!
A second tip I wanted to share with you is how I label my digital layout files. I label them with the year, then month and finally the date. So today's date would be labeled in my computer as 2017-08-22. I then add in the name of the project. For example, my last Bella Blvd project was about a vacation so I labeled it 2017-08-01 Bella Blog Vacation, then which it was side and when the vacation was. It may seem complicated, but it didn't take me long to adapt this system of labeling layouts (and even photos!).
Also, I want to add that if a project isn't completed I add a 0 to beginning so it stays at the top of the project folder.
Lastly, I wanted you to know that by compiling your digital scrapbook supplies in one folder makes it easy to combine kits to make 1 layout! This is something I love to do! With all my supplies organized I was able to pull different pieces from several collections to make this layout. I pulled blue pieces and pandas from Popsicles and Pandas, an arrow border from the Alex bundle to make the background paper and patterned papers to coordinate from the Oh My Stars patterned papers. I went with a color scheme of blue, gray, black and a little bit of teal on this layout and just looked around in my organized Bella Blvd products to put this layout together.
Thank you for stopping the Bella Blvd blog! I hope these tips and tricks help you with your digital scrapbooking!
