Hello Bella Friends! It's Leanne here today sharing a fun layout using the new Barn Yard collection. And just maybe, with this layout, I have found the answer to the all time classic riddle of why the chicken crossed the road...
The Barn Yard collection has such a fresh and vibrant colour palette, that I really couldn't go past this photo of my son and his homemade Easter Bonnet.
Cameron's classmates at the time, were aged between 4-5 years. They thought his hat was very funny and kept asking him about the chicken sitting on his head! Eventually one his classmates made the connection from the chicken to the joke about it crossing the road. For the rest of the time Cameron wore his hat, the riddle could be heard whispered about among the class!
The Barn Yard collection has provided me with the perfect opportunity to share this memory and with the help of some coloured tiny text alphas, the title becomes a feature on its own.
The main patterned paper piece on the cardstock is the bonus paper that comes with the collection. I've layered this patterned paper with coordinating solid colours from the Barn Yard mini paper pad and border strips from the Barn Yard Borders paper.
Beneath the photo, I've layered the reverse side of the Borders patterned paper as well as more coordinating solid colours from the mini paper pad. Between these layers of cardstock and paper, I've added stickers from the Fundamentals Sticker Sheet, Tabbies, Designer Clips and Barn Yard paper pieces. For a little extra dimension, puffy stars stickers have been dotted around the layout.
To complete my layout, I've added the hint of a road by using the red and grey patterned papers. This idea links back to the title and grounds some of the colours in my photo, to the page. The Designer Tape at the lower edge of the layout, reminds my of chicken footprints and therefore provides a visual end to my page as well as helps document my story idea.
Thanks for visiting today, and don't forget each collection from Bella BLVD can help document your stories even if the theme may appear a little out of the box!
