Scrap your faith. Tell your story. Quite honestly, I can't say as I do this very intentionally. The Bella Creative Team was challenged this week to scrap our faith. And for a bit there...I really did not know where to go with that prompt.
When encountered with a creative lack of mojo...the best thing for me to do is to just play. Take the time to play with all the pretty things and utilize the time as a creative play therapy. And wouldn't you know...
A bit of creative play turned out this layout. Taking a large floral die cut, and grabbing just a few colors, pink and black, and turning out the Illustrated Faith Basics onto a page...it just all simply came together. And as I played, my thoughts were allowed to focus on the concept of 'scrapping my faith'.
As the IF Basics Paper Pieces found their place layered on the watercolored die cut, my heart turned to telling a story. First on the page by way of color and words, and introspective photo. Changed. In Christ. Forgiven. These words were prompts to a story.
As I added subtle touches of Epoxy and Puffy Stickers, I truly became much more aware of where this whole page was going.
I have often testified that when I create a page, a page that has a single person as the subject, that my mind often sort of fixates on that person. What their here and now looks like. A prayerful time of it is the result while 'scrapping' a page about one I love.
As I clustered Cardstock Stickers with Clear Stamps and more Epoxy, by that time, I knew...I knew just what this page needed.
It needed my words. And lots of them. It needed a story written from my heart to my kids. A story about my faith. How I came to it at an early age and then as a young teen decided once upon a time to strive hard after God. This story was simply looming inside of me. Because all the stuff is pretty. The Illustrated Faith Basics make for such wonderful inspiration to tell just about any story of faith. And that's just it. Story. Your Story. It needs to be told. Written. Typed. No matter. Just tell it. And give evidence to the life of faith that is your here and now.
