Hello and welcome! It's Gail and today I have a layout to share incorporating Bella Blvd's new Epoxy Stickers! Now I have been scrapbooking for a loooong time (about 17 years!) and I remember using epoxy stickers absolutely years ago! So I challenged myself to come up with a way to use the Bella epoxy stickers with a nod to current scrapbooking trends: enter hand-stitching!
I chose 3 large epoxy stickers that suited my layout's colors and theme and built up small embellishment clusters around them by layering with die cuts and cardstock stickers. I strategically placed them around my layout to form the old visual triangle that is so pleasing to the eye!
And around each of the epoxy stickers, I added a hand-stitched border using white embroidery floss. This is a subtle way of drawing attention to them and also adding texture and interest to my layout.
I kept it quite subtle (and in line with my usual style) by using the white thread but you could really have fun with this technique by using different colored threads! In fact, I might just do that on my next layout!
I kept the layout quite simple with the focus on the photo and fun colors from the Make Your Mark collection that really suit my youngest son's personality!
As a final embellishment I did add a sprinkling of the adorable and oh so versatile Mini Hexie's Epoxy Stickers from Illustrated Faith!
My journaling reflects on his 3rd birthday and was the last thing to be added to my layout before I called it complete.
Hand-stitching on layouts is so popular right now and I can understand why! I hope I've shown you that sometimes you only need to add a small amount - even just around a small embellishment - to add texture and interest to any project!
