Hi Bella Friends! Have you seen the gorgeous new Bella BLVD Acrylic Words yet? They look amazing on scrapbooking pages but today I want to share a DIY idea using them for an Off The Page project. By selecting a word that a jump ring can easily attach to, I've created the base for either a key chain, book mark or even a bag tag! All simple ideas that allows the Acrylic Word to be embellished as much as your heart desires.
The word "sparkle" drew my eye immediately. But to make it extra "sparkly" however, I grabbed my gold glitter embossing powder and got to work!
The first step was to gather my supplies. The Acrylic Word (of course), embossing powder and ink, heat gun/tool, jump ring, designer tape and any other ribbons, pompoms or clear cut accessories you think you might like to use.
Next I taped the designer tape across the top half of the acrylic word to use as a mask. Ink the embossing ink on the lower half of the word only.
Generously add the embossing powder.
Once the word has been covered with glitter, remove the excess embossing powder but not the tape. Using a heat gun, carefully move it across the word, setting the glitter in place. Remove the tape.
As you can see, the heat embossing works really well on the acrylic words!
Insert a jump ring through the lower loop of the letter "s". Add Pom Pom Clips and ribbons directly to the jump ring.
For a little extra fun, add a tag created from the Make Your Mark Clear Cuts Pad. Don't forget to remove the clear protective sheet from the back of the clear cuts. It just peels off!
The clear cut tag can now be used to mark the pages in your book or just as a decorative add-on to your key chain/bag tag!
I love that these words can be used for something a little bit different and that they make a great gift for either a teacher or a student! I hope you have fun embossing all of your Acrylic Words because this technique will also look stunning on a scrapbook page. Thanks for visiting.
