Bella Blvd Studio Blog: New Beginnings with Missy

Hello there, Bella friends! Missy here today, and I'm kicking off our week of celebrating the New Year this upon us. We are focusing on saying goodbye to the old and welcoming new beginnings with lots of black and white Bella products. My layout is about a new start for my daughter. After years of her shying away from classmates, she finally warmed up to a little girl. They became very close this year, and it has opened up a whole new world for her. I love these photos her teacher snapped of them holding hands earlier this year.

I pulled out lots of black and white products including papers, die cuts, stickers, chipboard, Washi Stickers and Designer Clips. I did add some pops of color to brighten things up a bit. I began with the Playlist paper from the Addison collection and created a vertical design. I added in a beautiful Clear Cut from the Illustrated Faith You Are Loved collection on the right and then added in smaller bits using those same colors. I used some white gesso over the large patterned paper and then used some watercolors to add splashes of color.

Black and white is a very striking combo, and I love how it looks with these pops of color mixed in. I used one of the large white Ciao Chips for the title. I added in a few die cuts here as well as some of the Oh My Stars black heart Washi Stickers.

In addition to printing my photos in black and white, I used more black and white behind them. I added in a pops of pink here with some tangled thread.

I love this plus sign patterned paper from Oh My Stars. It's the back side of the McIntosh Stars. I added in a small bit of yellow there as well.

I love the Ciao Chip pieces. They are so easy to color, but they also look awesome just plain white like this. I did some machine stitching with black thread for added texture.

I used some black Tiny Text alpha stickers for my secondary smaller title and then stitched through them. I used a few strips of Washi Stickers here and then wrote my journaling under that.
