Before we start the new year, I always like to take a reflective look at the year that was. It's so much fun to create a layout that is sort of like a highlight reel of the events that shaped it! I would love for you to take a look below and see how I created such a layout, using mostly black and white products with a tiny dash of color!
A black and white theme was perfect for a this layout as i knew I wanted to create a collage of photos from throughout the year, all converted to black and white for unity.
I cut several strips of patterned paper at varying angles to overlap and layer across the top of my layout. I then tucked in lots of the fun Tabbies before stitching them down.
Seriously - I have never met a black and white patterned paper that I didn't love!
For the title, I used a combination of Illustrated Faith Clear Stamps (for the numbers) and Tiny Text alphabet stickers and I added it to the left of the photos along with a small cluster of embellishments.
I have had the idea for the journaling format for a while now - kind of "counting" up some of the major events of the year. For example in 2016 we had 2 wrist fractures, 1 career change, and 1 million selfies! At the start of each "fact" I added a small enamel dot.
And with that, I'm ready to see what 2017 will bring! Hopefully no more wrist fractures for any of my children (!) but lots of memories that I can't wait to document! I will see you on the Bella Blvd blog next year!
