Hello, Bella Friends! My name is Marla and I'm the newest member of the Bella Blvd Creative Team! I live in Oklahoma where I am wife to my farmer- Colby and mama to my baby boy- Teddy. I have been digital scrapbooking for five years now and LOVE capturing my families' memories! I am also a professional photographer and love taking pictures of little Teddy. Today, I want to share my first digital scrapbook layout featuring Bella's Holly Jolly Christmas collection. I love the non-traditional colors and fun illustrations! Everything is super cute.
My layout features pictures of my baby boy in front of the Christmas tree.
First, I placed my pictures as the foundation of the pages. Secondly, I added filler papers and then started selecting elements to accent the pictures.
I enlarged one of the tags and used the white space to journal about the page. Decorating the tree has always been one of my favorite family traditions and I wanted to capture that memory.
I often add a little embellishing over filler papers for interest. You can see that in the "Merry Christmas" card below.
I used two of the borders to add some simple accents to my pictures. They were simple enough to not overwhelm my pictures, but still add interest. I'm a big fan of keeping my pages clean and simple. I want the focus to be on the pictures and journaling.
I love adding word strips over pictures- especially in my pocket scrapbooking pages.
On the bottom left picture, I added a cluster of hearts to the corner. The red "our tree" element went perfect with the picture and the colors on our Christmas tree.
Finally, I layered "tree time" word art over the blue Christmas tree paper and called the layout perfect!
