"5, 6, 7, 8", by Leanne Allinson.
Hey Bella Friends! It's Leanne here today, sharing a layout using the gorgeous new Addison collection. This range has so many beautiful and vibrant colors which are perfect for the teen girl in your life! I wanted to draw the eye not only to the playfulness of the patterned papers but more specifically the story behind the photo.
Today I am playing with vertical lines. This design technique has helped enhance the 4x6 photo without overwhelming the smaller size of my layout. The bold triangle paper, appropriately named Fierce, lays the foundation work for the layered colors, both below and surrounding the photo. It is grounded to the cardstock with a thin strip of pink Free Spirit.
The points of the arrow pattern on Free Spirit, also lead the eye toward the photo from the top of the page. Both of these paper strips have been relegated to the far right vertical third of my cardstock base.
After placing my photo onto the layout, I've trimmed several pieces of paper from the new Addison 6x8 paper pad. Each sneak peek between the layers, emphasize the vertical lines in a more subtle manner. The technique has then been reinforced by using the Addison Tabbies along the photo's length. The paper piece feather, held the same design appeal.
Finally, to complement the obvious vertical design choices, I've layered my stamped title in the same format as the rest of the design elements. The enamel hearts and Addison Fundamentals stickers add interest and are offset by the black border sticker on the opposite side of my layout.
A splash of paint adds texture and the journaling strips document the story without detracting from my initial design goals. Thanks for visiting!
