“Romans 8:39” Bible journaling, by Stephanie Buice.
Hey guys! It's Stephanie here today, to share my most recent bible journaling page with you! I feel like it's been forever since I've had the chance to just sit down with my bible and create for God, it was long overdue. I can always tell by my stress level that a certain area in my life is off or out of balance, with the crazy day to day stuff something is always bound to suffer and sadly lately it's been my time with God. That feels almost shameful to say, but I am so thankful that through all my imperfections God loves and forgives me. We have a good, good Father.
I chose to journal Romans 8:39 "No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." I was going through the encouragement cards in the Illustrated Faith Kit that I did for the month of October and this "Unconditional Love" card spoke to me right away. When I wrote the devotional I was in such a great season, so it was refreshing to go back and read it reminding myself of just how good God is to us. Life changes but He does not! How great is that!?
I had so much fun pulling my paints back out and just running with ideas that came to mind. First I simply used a few colors of acrylic paint and drug them across my page with a paint card, then I printed out a pattern I had created on my ipad right onto transparency. After my paints were dried I layered it over my paints. For my title I used some white Tiny Text and white Big & Bold alphas and outlined them with my journaling pen. To add a little more color I used some of the Mini alphabet stickers from the Genesis Kit. After I had made sure my "title" would fit above my flowers I added in one of the new Illustrated Faith Tabbies and dated it with the Illustrated Faith Roller Stamp.
If you look closely at my page you will see that I did my journaling underneath of my flowers. Because it was kind of personal I chose to use my transparency to cover it up a bit but still leaving it exposed enough to see that it's there. Since my transparent layer is adhered and stapled only at the top, I can easily lift it to read what I had to say.
The flowers and foliage I used on this page were also drawn on my ipad. I simply printed them out and added some color with the Illustrated Faith Pebeo watercolours. I was surprised at how easily they mixed and blended, impressive! After they were dry I used some adhesive to glue them to my transparency, so easy peasy!
Well, that's all from me today! I hope everyone has a great Sunday and week ahead, I already can't wait to share my next project with you! -Steph
