"All Of My Favorite Memories Have You In Them", by Stephanie Buice.
Hi everyone! Stephanie here today sharing the layout I did for national dog day. When I take a minute to think about all of our pets I can't believe how lucky we've been, I mean I've heard horror stories about them destroying homes, being disobedient all the crazy things that these fur babies can do. Now I'm not saying my dog Chevy is a saint, but he kinda is ha! I just love that dog.
When we first got married we decided that we needed to start with a pet before we jumped on the baby wagon, (dogs are supposed to be easier than babies right!?) so we brought home the cutest little black lab puppy and named him Chevy.
I turned into a total dog lady, he was my baby and I love him with all my heart, he has seen us through ups and downs and now almost 9 1/2 years later I can't imagine our lives without him. No offense to the other doggies out there, but he's simply the best!
So before I started my layout I was going through my favorite pictures of him trying to narrow it down to one or two, and that's when it hit me. Chevy has been there front and center for almost all of our married life, and BAM! I had my title: "All of My Favorite Memories Have You In Them", because they do! Even in these four photos you can see the story yourself, but I'll explain how I laid them out for the sake of the layout. It went from bringing him home as a puppy, then the picture of just Bryan and I is when we were waiting for a baby, then the picture of Chevy and Brady as a baby (And already besties), and them now. I could have added 100 more to show it all, but felt that these would do the job. He's been there, I promise lol.
So after I narrowed down my pictures I decided to arrange them a little differently than I normally would, I'm honestly not used to working with this many pictures on one layout so it was fun to change things up a bit. Once I had them in place I decided that I would try and keep the focus on the photos, so using less patterned paper and embellishments allowed me to do just that.
I used three pieces of some black and white paper to frame my page, then added in my long title. I have to admit my favorite part of the layout was using some enamels for make the paw prints on my hearts. I had first tried it using just the dot enamels, and it did look cute, but the upside down hearts won in the end.
Once I had my title and pictures in place I added in some stickers that had the perfect little sayings and quotes for my dog layout. Then I added in some of the new Tabbies from different collections and finished off my page with some enamel dots as a pop of color here and there.
Although you won't find journaling on the front of this page, I plan to add some to the back and slip it in Chevy's album. Since we got him before I had a kiddo to scrap I'm almost embarrassed to say how many dog layouts I actually have! (Is it totally weird that my dog has a scrapbook!?)
Either way, Happy National Dog Day! Hug your furry friend a little extra today and don't forget to add them to your family albums, one day they may not be there anymore and you'll be so thankful you took the time to document their important place in your heart.
