Zoo Mini Album, by Gail Lindner.
Hello everybody! It’s Gail here again today to share some of my favourite tips for creating mini albums! I love creating minis and they are perfect for including lots of photos of the one event or theme. I have so many photos of my kids at our local zoo over the years that I decided to gather a few of my favourite pics from the past year’s adventures at the zoo to include in a mini album.
This mini is for my kids – I want them to look through it remember the fun times we had. So the first thing I needed to do was create sturdy pages.
I cut down some chipboard to 4”x6” and covered them with patterned paper from The Zoo Crew collection. Once they were trimmed and ready to go, I then went through the embellishments in the collection and started adding to each page.
I had printed my photos quite small (approx. 2” x 1 1/2 “) so I next adhered those and added a few finishing touches to each page. It was easy to then punch a hole in the top of each page to add to a jump ring to keep them all together!
I love adding tabs or banner strips to my mini album pages that hang over the edge slightly. I just love the look of things poking out the sides, ready to be discovered!
The Enamel Dots and Hearts were perfect accents without adding too much bulk to the pages. I also added typed journaling strips and some flicks of white mist for interest.
For the album cover, I couldn’t go past using the adorable cloud Invisibles! I cut a piece down to fit, leaving on some of the awesome decorative edge! They are very sturdy so are perfect for mini album covers and pages!
I want my mini albums to be touched, looked through and enjoyed! I keep them in a basket that is accessible to my kids and this one has now been added with hopes that it will bring smiles to my kids’ faces when they turn each page!
